This company rip you off. The engineer solves the problem guessing which part is wrong and replacing it with new one without checking if is good or bad. The engineer hasn't got parts and they charging fee for traveling to shop. Boiler not fixed.

I am a plumbing engineer and stopped working for ERG in January 2023 because they have stopped paying me. They owe me thousands of pounds. I have claimed only some of it back but am still waiting to receive a lot of it. I am trying to make a claim against them. Can anyone please let me know if they have successfully managed to make a claim against them and how they did it.

ERG yesterday closed its doors leaving engineers out of pocket

Like my self who they have held onto my money I've not payed off them for over a year finishing with them on January where any good reliable engineer was took of the system and none have been payed

Now this is not the first time he's done me out of money ge did the same when he had LOM 12 years ago

I was one of the first contractors ERG had on there books and was not thought of one bit

After being on watchdog it made ERG even bigger of a company but with that came some bad staff that we had to deal with day to day

They will all be sat there now in there big house with all our money

If anyone reading in the Manchester area need a plumber or gas engineer look up EPEB give them a call

If we could leave a no star review we would. We are an elderly couple and have been let down so many times by this company. We had a email confirming that a Plumber would be coming 26th September, he did not turn up. We called him and he advised he could come another time and he didn’t turn up again. This continued 4 times and still he has not turned up. No phone all, no apology no nothing. Unfortunately my husband gave his credit card details to him so we stuck with it but to date we still have not had a plumber visit. Absolutely disgusting service. If we had read the reviews prior we would not have tried using. Avoid!Avoid! Avoid!

Phoned on Fri & arranged boiler service at £145 for following Mon.
Mon - No show They said engineer was ill & will send someone Tues
Tues - No show. They said engineer had Covid & will send someone Wed
Wed - No show.They said it was too late (2pm) to arrange someone else so Thurs
Thurs - No show. They promised definitely 9am Fri
Fri - No show. They offered 2-4pm but I’d sat in all week & had enough so said next hour or nothing.
It was nothing.

well. the same with these other lot a total scum bags as there took 235 of me i had a leek in the kitchen the so called plumber said he thinks it might be asbestos so said wont do anything untill it has been checked so i paid for a company that deals with asbestos and no i dont have it so i phoned them back for the guy to come back out and supprise he want min of one hour call not happy this company needs to be taken to court

Phoned to ask for mains repair. Said they’d be here between 12 and 4 pm.
Took all details and bank etc.
At 3.58 they phoned to say no one could come out. We are OAPs left with no water and they rang so late that I couldn’t get anyone else today.
They advertise they cover my town. They don’t. They don’t do repairs in an hour. They are not Plumbing experts in “my area” they are a nationwide company who must contract local plumbers to do repairs. They advertise falsely. I will report to trading standards as they advertise falsehoods.

Booked this company and agreed to a premium rate (£185/hr) for 'same-day service' (as boiler is down) and they agreed to be present no later than 6pm. At 4.45pm, they called to say they will not be attend until the following day.

They must have known well before this time but they chose not to notify us, leaving us with no time to sort an alternative. When I rang to ask for some justification, the lad didn't seem to have any clues and gave even less f8cks!

Appalling company. We waited three days for an engineer when the engineer arrived. He lied about the extent of the damage to the boiler. He then asked me to not go through the company that sent him Andrew team on a private job. Quoting me on the spot 2750 to have a new boiler. Do not use this company under any circumstances, my wife found Plumber the next day came out of 60 for us for 60 quid who was gas registered

Useless. First guy was ill so that was fair. Replacement didn't turn up, wouldn't answer his phone so after three days of trying i was told they had nobody. Three days wasted.
Useless avoid at all costs.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of working with ERG Plumbing, and I must say it was extremely disappointing. Not only did they fail to meet their contractual obligations, but they also left me in a difficult financial situation.

Firstly, their lack of professionalism was evident from the start. Communication was sporadic and often unresponsive, making it incredibly difficult to coordinate projects effectively. This lack of organization caused delays and unnecessary stress.

Furthermore, ERG Plumbing consistently failed to deliver on their promises. They frequently missed deadlines, leaving my projects incomplete and causing significant disruptions to my daily operations. Their lack of reliability and accountability was truly frustrating.

To make matters worse, ERG Plumbing has now gone into administration, leaving me with outstanding invoices totaling over £1000. It's deeply concerning that they have failed to fulfill their financial obligations, leaving me in a difficult financial position.

Overall, my experience with ERG Plumbing has been nothing short of a nightmare. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication, and failure to fulfill financial obligations have left me in a challenging situation. I strongly advise others to be cautious when considering working with this company.

One star and would have been even less if allowed- for a review of this appalling company. DONT USE THEM!

Phoned Friday morning and had an email to confirm Booking for between 12.00/16.00 they phoned near 16.00 to say they could not make it and change booking to Tuesday as it was bank holiday and cost would be £130+vat it was too late to get another contractor so we agreed. Today (Tue) they came and made one small solder joint on an exposed pipe and have charged £324 because engineer hung around for an extra 15 minutes over the hour total cowboys!

Total scammers, if I could put 0 stars on here I would, 1 star is too much for them. They took £162 from my elderly mum, just to look at a leaking tap. Then quoted over £900 to fix it, they rang her numerous times to try and get her to pay up front, when I intervened and asked for a written quote and confirm of date to do the work we never heard back. I found another plumber who fix the issue for £285 including parts and labour. Avoid this company, they prey on elderly people, total disgrace

Claim to do all plumbing work but the women on the phone was very rude. She said they only do emergency call outs and then proceeded to put the phone down on me mid sentence.

I guess they are scammers as others have stated.

I wish to preface my comments by stating that I am very reluctant about submitting negative reviews unless I have given the supplier of services the opportunity to explain why they could not perform the services for which they were contracted.

In this case, I telephoned or was telephoned 15 times and spoke with company representatives on eight occasions.

On 28 July 2023, I made an appointment with ERG Plumbing to undertake emergency plumbing work at my property on Monday, 31 July 2023 between 8 AM and 12 noon. I emphasised that I needed to make a 50 mile journey (each way) to attend the property. In fairness, the booking was quickly and efficiently made. After that things went wrong

I was called by the support team at 11:14 AM on 31 July 2023 to advise that the engineer was delayed by a previous job and but would turn up before 5 PM. Three further calls were made to me to indicate that they were trying to get a replacement engineer but could not get one until the morning of Tuesday, 1 August 2023.

A similar pattern of calls followed on 1 August 2023, in spite of having travelled the same 50 mile journey to attend the property. On each occasion, I was advised that they would contact the engineer but they could not make contact with him/her - the explanation given was that they must have been on another job as they were not answering their phone. I eventually gave up shortly after 5 PM, cancelling the order.

It appears that ERG is acting as a service to source work for independent self-employed tradesmen. It appears that tradesmen may be reluctant to undertake such work for them. One reason why tradesmen will refuse to do work or engage with the referrer on the telephone is when there has been a history of non-payment. I do not know if this is the case in relation to my appointment, but having read other reviews about tradesmen not being paid promptly, it rings true.

There are other factors which support a history of a poor payment record to tradesmen.

When my appointment was confirmed by email, the sender's name was "ERG Facilities Ltd” (from an email address in the name of this company). This company was placed in administration (a form of insolvency) on 19 August 2022. On 22 August 2022 the company’s name was changed to Facilities Realisations Ltd.

Amongst other things, this confirms that the business of ERG Facilities Ltd was sold to ERG Home Limited on 19 August 2022 as part of a prepackaged sale (a common arrangement when a company is insolvent). The latest accounts for this company prepared to 30 September 2022 (just over one month after the business was acquired from ERG Facilities Ltd) indicate that the company is also insolvent.

As a retired chartered accountant, I have some understanding of these issues.

The administrators’ report makes reference to a debtor in the company's accounts (an amount due to the company or the prepayment of an expense) relating to advertising payments. Advertising payments such as Internet adverts (when you search for emergency plumbers) may relate to a period extending beyond the date the company prepared its accounts, or if later, when it went into administration - the argument being that the business would receive future benefits from the advertising, therefore the costs should then be matched against the income generated. It is not surprising that the administrator is investigating this.

My experience suggests that all the warning signs are there.. .

Wish I’d read the reviews before I booked earlier! Promised plumber within 1.5hours then got a got call that it would be within 4 hours. Then a call 5 minutes before the 4 hours were up that they couldn’t do it until tomorrow. Not ideal when the water is switched off!! Terrible Service

The work was actually of a decent standard. The issue was the plumber turning up a week late, and the 400 quid cost of fixing the toilet. Charging that much in the middle of a cost of living crisis is criminal, they should be ashamed of themselves. Won't ever be using this pack of chancers again.
