I was booked to fix a leak. A man came and told me he couldn't find the problem after just looking at my bathroom tap and run the water. Next day I received bank alert, £162 removed from my account. I called the company they told me the money is for diagnose of the problem. Do you know what, I have every conversion on record. I ask for a repair & and not a diagnose. And the lady who booked told me said £135 plus vat will be used to repair it expect if they have to buy parts.
Thief's, will update you how to deal with them. Today is 15 July 2023.

RIP OFF DO NOT USE, charged 89 yr old man for extra time and a ridiculous amount of money for a very small job because they did not read and listen to instructions. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.
Plumber wasted time because this company did not pass on correct information and he was hanging around using up time because they did not ring me.

Criminal company. Took £430 from my mother-in-law for a ridiculous job of a small leak. Claimed they replaced parts but looked at pictures and same part. She is 89, this company pray on old defenceless people they are criminals and should have a whole episode on rogue traders.

Scammers.
4 months ago they took £162 from my CC just for a plumber to come and look, an amount I never authorised. Plumber virtually vanished after that and I have now given up waiting.
ERG pose as local plumbers, which fooled me. But their phone numbers are spoofed to look local to you, but they are actually middlemen with phones in an office in Essex, that take your money.
I guess £162 is as much as they think you will not bother to take them to court over.

They said they had no plumbers after taking card details, and charged me anyway

Waited all afternoon for the plumber to turn up to fix a leak, only to receive a late call to say they can't make it. Very nice sales department (very quick to demand £162 for a 5 minute job) but then it's all downhill. No email confirmation of the booking as promised and they don't turn up, leaving it too late for you to find someone else. Totally unhelpful guy on the phone too.
Avoid at all costs - I should have checked the reviews...

As others have said, I wish I had read the reviews. Plumbers called on time, were here 5 mins, had to go and check for a part. Said they were unsure if could return today. I contacted customer services, they said they were going for the part and returning. Basically so I could be charged twice. Told them to cancel which they agreed to eventually but I still had to pay the initial charge of £162. Total rip off. The engineers that came said they would do the job cheaper for me but I said no as I felt it was one big scam.

I could kick myself for using this company. We booked and told them we needed a new electric shower installing, and gave them all the details. I pacifically told the lady we need the pull box shower cord installing too. She said it should come with the shower unit, if it doesn't the electrician/plumber will provide it and install it. The time won't be added on top of the hourly rate of £135. She would pass all the information to the workers coming to install. She took the full card details.
When he arrived he knew nothing about it, I rang customer service and they said they made the mistake, which meant we need to pay double the amount to get it installed, and that he is just the plumber. Erg didn't say that when we booked and gave them card details
Please don't use this company. They are very misleading, and dishonest. They just want your money upfront. Do not give your card details upfront. Personally I feel they could be a scam company.

be very careful for what you request, I requested a plumber who could help with drainage issues. They sent an "expert" over who told me he had no experience in the field and that ERG would need to send out someone else. Guess what, i got charged for this, terrible. My advice to the company, is to ask your potential future customer exactly what the problem is with some very clear questions before sending someone over, you are the experts, not us.

Avoid this company like the plague!!! Sent plumber (emergency) 6 hrs later he calls is it bad? Aye, because that's why I called your company. Stopped leak, said he would order a new valve and fix it...nothing since.

SCAM COMPANY - avoid like the plague.
We had their plumber (I say "their" but he wasn't their plumber, merely a subcontractor) out because the flat we rent out had a leak going into the flat below. We'd switched water to stop the leak before he came. He said it was the toilet and adjusted ballcock level. Water switched back on and leak started again the next day. We contacted ERG but no one answered, despite them claiming they're a 24/7 Bathroom Plumbing Service. Found out the next day that they're not a 24/7 Bathroom Plumbing Service, their new hours are 8am - 5pm. Nice. They would only send out the plumber that they'd sent out before. But they didn't know when he was next available because he's not their plumber and he looks after his own diary. Nice. We had to put out tenant on a hotel for 4 nights before he returned. When he returned he said it could only be the bath. Our tenant must have had a deep bath and the water must have poured behind a silver button (that adjusts plug hole) in the bath. But our tenant hadn't had a bath. So he leaves and the leak starts again later that night. His next advice was that we should have a wall knocked down to look behind the shower at the pipework. By now we'd lost all faith in him, and needed to act fast, because there was more and more damage to the flat below, so we contacted another plumber. The other plumber spotted the problem in 5 minutes (a washer needed replacing, nothing remotely destructive was required). I complained to ERG. ERG told me to ask my plumber for a report into his findings. I did that. The original clueless plumber refuted the findings and I received no money back at all. They are an absolute bloody disgrace of an organisation. They cost us a fortune in payments for work that was never done, as well as hotel bills, and repair work to the flat below. Avoid them like the plague.

I so wish I had read these reviews before appointing EFG. My experience similar to those already shared. Plumber failed to turn up on Monday to fix leaking loo, had to wait until Wednesday. His first comment was that he 'didn't like doing toilets!! So why take the job? I was charged £184.50 for approx. one hours work and the job was left unresolved i.e. I still had a leaking loo. I was advised that EFG would provide a further quote to fix the problem as what was needed apparently was a major reconfiguration of loo and soil pipe. When chasing up the quote I was advised that the job was 'too big' for any of their plumbers to deal with!! I was left hanging on the phone by customer services following my rant at that information. Seems to be a well tried and tested method of getting rid of complaining customers as I eventually put the phone down.
Good news - appointed a locally based family run firm that completed the job within the hour, with no major reconstruction of the bathroom needed!

Thieves. Pure and simple. I paid the plummer once the repair had been done, but then ERG chased me for another £200 for their arrangement fee. This was not mentioned during booking.
I refused to pay up. Despite many, many threats (yes, threats), I haven't paid.
They threatened court action, but I just ignored it. The court action is an empty threat because they can't justify it and can't prove the extra fees were pre-arranged.
Disgraceful - they should be ashamed of themselves.

Absolutely do not use! I never write reviews, but this company is a joke. Called yesterday to book someone coming out. Was told would be 12 pm onwards. After arranging for someone to be at home to wait all day, was called at roughly 4pm, and told noone could come out, and had to reschedule until today after 12pm. After again arranging for someone to wait at home, had a call about 10am asking if they could come now. Told them no, that is why I arranged an afternoon. By 3pm, noone had showed up, but I received 2 emails, one asking for a review of the work done, and a second giving me an itemised invoice for work at my house when noone had showed up!!! Checked my bank and £177 had been taken to pay for work done at another house! Called and was told they made a mistake and put someone else's bill in my address and that they would refund the difference depending on what my bill would be. Asked when someone was coming out because had been waiting, yet again, all day. Told we were next job on list (at 3pm). No real explanation other than that the engineer hadn't answered the phone. Asked what time offices were open until as if engineer didn't show soon, I wanted to call to cancel and get my refund. Was told lines open until 7pm. They kept saying will call back and update but didn't. By the time 6.15pm came, we were waiting to eat dinner, and still no call, or engineer. Called to cancel appt and get my money (that has paid for someone else's job) refunded back. Then told cannot process the refund until tomorrow because manager not in!! I specifically checked this on the last call. Absolutely abysmal service, would never recommend to anyone

Plumber really efficient, fixed leak and was very professional. ERG rang with price and paid over phone. Good value, no issues, would recommend.

Scammers, they asked over the phone for 135 just to come to the address, then they told me over the phone most likely it will take few hours to fix leak on kitchen pipe. When I told them that this is a lot they just hang up the phone. Customer service is the best.

If there was a possibility to put no stars I would have.
I needed a plumber urgently and looked for someone local (Norfolk) - ERG came up on Google with a local telephone code so I assumed that’s what I was getting.
I told them the problem and was told that they could have a plumber to me within four hours - I was then asked for my debit card details to ‘confirm the appointment’ which I gave. I received an email confirming my appointment and stating that a plumber would be with me within four hours.
Shortly before the four hours was up I received a call from a Southend number to inform me that they could not get a plumber to me until Monday. I have a holiday let and had guests in with no hot water. There was no way I could not get it fixed. I had then wasted three hours waiting while I could have been trying to find someone else.
I am appalled that they are allowed to take card details, promise and follow up in writing an appointment time and then not deliver the service.
The admin person was also dreadful - she has obviously had some generic customer service training but had no idea how to deal with a very stressed customer and offered no solutions.
I’m not sure how this company operates but there must be some laws against what they are doing - I intend to find out and follow up.
Never trust this company.

Absolutely appalling service. We had a problem with the flushing unit in our downstairs toilet. We contacted ERG a couple of times before we got a reply. We then had our initial appointment Trent cancelled and had to reschedule. When we did get a reply we were asked for £160 deposit which would be the call out fee plus labour but any part would be in addition to this amount. Two very polite men came and said we needed a new valve. They were in the house approximately 5 minutes. The following day we were told the unit would be an additional £365 plus vat which would make the total amount to nearly £600. Having checked the cost of a variety of valves this was an extortionate amount and much more than we could afford as pensioners (85). My husband took a call advising of the cost and immediately cancelled and followed up with an email. Needless to say no response from ERG. We have now lost £160 for nothing.

A simple fix to our shower turned into a huge drama. The plumber never stopped talking from the moment he entered the premises until he left. His inane banter about anything but plumbing drove us to distraction. I do not know how he was able to diagnose our problem if he never stopped talking. In fact he did not diagnose the issue. He blamed the previous installation which had been working for 20 years, replaced a washer and said, "fixed" and left. Surprise, surprise we discovered he had achieved nothing and charged us a lot of money. When we approached the company for a refund we spoke to a very disagreeable "customer relations manager" who, like the rest of the company was far from professional. She did not listen or appreciate our concerns that we had been ripped off. We paid a lot of money and still had a shower that did not function. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!!!!!

I recently had the misfortune to be scammed by ERG facilities as i needed help with unblocking a drain at my daughter’s flat. Their website states that they are multi trades and that the visiting ‘engineer’ would have the latest equipment (jet washing, cameras) so all seemed promising and in order.

The man who appeared, arrived with only a toilet plunger and a hoover. Instead of him being a drains’ specialist, which is what I’d asked for, he shared that he was actually a heating engineer.

I later discovered that ERG are an English based company that featured in Rogue Traders in 2018.

After an hour the engineer departed but the blockage remained. As I’d (foolishly) given my card details to ERG they charged me £162 the following day for a service they never provided.

My request for a refund was flatly and rudely refused by ERG so I’m pursuing a refund through my bank and will write to Trading Standards.

Don’t touch them with a barge pole!
