Do not use this company

Do not use this company! The plumber attended my property said he couldn’t see the issue and left! He didn’t raise a tool, and I was charged £150 , why ? The documents said no call out fee! I feel totally ripped off!

Disgusting treatment and complete…

Disgusting treatment and complete liars, my boiler broke down and told me I needed a new boiler when it was a £50 fix.
Left me waiting 8 days with no hot water or boiler, never replied to countless emails and never returned calls.
Customer services replied once then wouldn't reply.
How many others have they scammed.

Only completed one third of the work

I rang for 3 tasks, replace a radiator, fix a toilet flush, fix a boiler. They send 2 guys round, they fix the boiler, and then they go away. the receipt said they recommend I replace the radiator and fix the flush...I knew that going in, and rang them to do those too. They only completed 1/3rd of the work and then tried to charge me an extra £200 to finish the job. When I rang to enquire, they were adamant that the rate I was quoted was hourly, which didn't come up in the phone call. Even if it was hourly, the plumbers took less than an hour to fix the boiler, so they owe me the remaining hour of work done

I would actually give 0 stars but minimum is 1.
Disappointed is an understatement, my mum 86 had a blocked toilet and had to wait 48 hrs for someone to come out only to find the engineer could not fix it and he would ask head office to book a Dynorod type company to fix it. Although he did this the office did not bother to find anyone and my mum had to wait another 15hrs until I could get Dynorod (the real experts) out.

Terrible company

Terrible company - totally unreliable, just say things to please but never fulfil any of what they say or arrange. Really unpleasant to deal with - online chat totally unhelpful. Someone really ought to do something about this - they're scamming loads of people. I took so many days off work to be at home to meet with engineers who just never turned up!

An addendum to my previous post. My father contacted his bank, who in turn contacted ERG. ERG then phoned my dad and told him that he wouldn't be getting his money back, and they wanted to know why he was worried about giving them his card details!, My dad told them they would know why he would be worried if they read their reviews! They slammed the phone down on him again!

Also, BEWARE!! ERG has a second business on trustpilot named "ERG Facilities" that have glowing 5 star reviews from "invited" reviewers who all have no previous reviews.

ON 29.12.20 my gas fire and boiler were not working so we rang ERG and they stated that an engineer would come out to our property that day he turned up about 2 hours later-whilst the engineer was here he did no work whatsoever on the fire or boiler all he did was go outside and look at the house and then came back in and said he could not do anything with the gas fire because of the grout on the tiles behind the fire. he left after an hour of doing nothing-the gas fire and boiler were still as they were 3 hours earlier.
He then stated the charge would be £198.00. The following day someone rung from ERG and stated to repair the boiler it would cost £1500 or a new boiler would be £4000 we did not believe we needed a new boiler so told ERG to leave it. On 31.12.20 (new years eve) a local plumber came out to our property he mended the boiler and got the gas fire working -it took him 20 minutes and no parts needed so obviously ERG were trying to get more money from us for no work being done they had already got £198.00 from us for nothing. We have rung them several times and emailed them to discuss getting our £198.00 back but they were not interested in what we had to say all they could say was that their engineer had done a good job-I beg to differ PLEASE PLEASE DONT ENTERTAIN THIS COMPANY IF I COULD GIVE A RATING OF MINUS 1 I WOULD

Terible experience

Terible experience. Had to wait more than 7 hours. Only temporary repair undertaken which needed further work. Charged over £180 for less than 15 minutes labour.

I wish I had read all these reviews before making a booking!

I originally requested an engineer to service my heating system at my old property on the 29th March which we have just sold but need to provide a certificate to the solicitor.

I was expecting an engineer to come on the 1st April before 12:00, at 11:30 I had a call to say that the engineer had been taken sick and could he come the next day. Luckily my partners dad lives 2 mins from our old property and was going to attend for me as I now live an hour away, however if I didn’t have him around the corner it wouldn’t be ideal.

I was then promised that an engineer would turn up the following day before 16:00. Surprise surprise - no call throughout the day, so I rung myself and the lady advised that this engineer coincidently was sick too. I then insisted that someone would visit the next day without excuse.

The following day comes and I receive a call from an engineer around 17:00 to say he’s on his way but may be late. I told him that’s fine, and I explained I needed the hearing system servicing and will need a certificate and copy of paperwork for the solicitors. He then had the cheek to ask if he could do that tomorrow morning as it would be best for him?!!!! I was outraged! I told him he was to be there that evening. I later received a call from him to say there’s loads of traffic! So again - trying to worm his way out of doing his job!

He finally turned up and advised my partners dad that I would have to ring ERG and they would send me a certificate and paperwork. I did exactly that and was advised that I can’t talk to customer services on the phone and that they are in fact a live chat service. Today (11th April) I’ve have spent all day trying to explain to the customer service woman that a receipt sent to my email is not a certificate! I keep getting told over and over that they don’t provide certificates and that a receipt will do.

Long story short - don’t waste your time, and I hope I’ve saved someone’s time and money from seeing the reviews like I wish I did!

BEWARE THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM

I contacted this company with a boiler problem. They said they could attend the same day. The cost would be £150. They ask for credit card details which I supplied but said they would not take the money until after the repair. I then went on trust pilot (which I should have done before making the booking) and saw the amount of negative reviews. I instantly contacted ERG to cancel the appointment and requested they e-mail me confirmation. This was not forthcoming and I went on their live chat. They confirmed that the booking had been cancelled, there would be not charge and my credit card details had been removed from their system. Two days later they took the £150 from my credit card account. Fortunately I took screen shots of the livechat conversation and was reimbursed my money by the credit card company but this was only because I could proe to them I had cancelled the visit. BEWARE OF THIS OMPANY AND HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM!!!!!!

Bad Customer Service

I have booked EGR plumbers for an emergency water leak and they have let me down twice on same booking.
I would not recommend you use this company at any cost .
I sent a person to meet them he travelled two hours to get there started at 7.00 am and they said they would be there between 9.00 am and 12.00 pm .
They rang me same day and where not able to turn up
after promising.
Cost to me £35 in fuel and lost wages .

Absolute disgrace

An absolute disgrace phone answered quickly engineer was with us for ten minutes and was very efficient but he was a local man and when dealing with a neighbour charged £80 as advised by neighbour . We were charged £280 plus and advised it was because it was Easter Sunday. UNLESS YOU ARE VERY WEALTHY DO TOUCH THESE PEOPLE WITH A BARGE POLE

Worse customer service

Worse customer service. Answered phone without saying company's name. when quoted to unblock toilet (£150) I said it was little more than I expected she put the phone down on me. Joke of a company am surprised a company like this gets any customers !

DO NOT USE!! called to book a boiler service as moving house and needed a service done before completing next week. have British Gas home care but there was a two month wait. the engineer himself did a great job but he was just a subcontractor. I was quoted a price and told I could claim back from British Gas. This was not the case! quoted £145 and was not told this was the cost pre VAT. then when i challenged the cost they said this was because they were an emergency company. last time I checked a boiler service was not an emergency. bunch of lying people!!!! only accepted the cost thinking it could be claimed back from BG.

Do not use this company.
Phoned them at 11.30 to ask for a plumber.
We had a blocked toilet and drains outside.
The lady said, it would be between then and 6 pm, and I had a email to say the plumber would ring 30 mins before he was to come.
Got at call at 5.30 to say he wasn’t coming and would come the next day.
We had already been without a toilet all day.
My husband said don’t bother I will get someone else.
He never gave any apology.
My husband phoned to complain, only to be hung up on.
What a terrible company.
I phoned this morning to another local company, and they said they are based in south end in sea and they call out plumbers in your area
This local company said they have cut ties and don’t work with them anymore.
Please stay clear .
They are rude, not at all professional, and leave you with no loo, and don’t care.

I called them for a quote

I called them for a quote. They immediately wanted £78 to quote. I said I wasn't comfortable paying for a quote - what if it was uncompetitive - and the lady immediately hung up on me! Not very nice people to do business with!

Gave incorrect information about hourly charge out saying it was a fixed fee of £165 when in fact it was £165 an hour plus VAT. Then engineer they sent refused to wear a mask. Appalling call centre preying on the vulnerable.
