Made the mistake of calling this company after a boiler breakdown. First they were a no-show but called and made another appointment the next day. The engineer was in the house just a few minutes. Claimed to have fixed the boiler and criticised our usual engineer. He hadn't. I believe that the boiler just came back on briefly when he switched it on. Shortly after he left it broke again. Now they are not responding to emails. Scammers. Avoid.

Do not go near this pushy firm. They demanded my credit card details and gave a quote of £140 for a boiler service when another firm are charging £60.
On top of that they wanted £120 for fixing my boiler which i did myself by turning it off.

SCAM SCAM SCAM.
Wanted to charge £2,000 for a work that another completed for £400. Then charged us £150 for a 'free' quote service (they were in the house for ten minutes). We did not give them permission to take this money. DO NOT TRUST.

I wouldn’t even leave 1 star

This is a bad company they charge extortionate rates to customers and pay peanuts for gas engineers.

And as an engineer they don’t pay. Even though they say 30 days. They won’t pay your first time til 50 days. That’s when I raised my voice. I worked I wanna get paid?!

After this I said I will suspend doing any further work til I got paid. The manager of the office said there is nothing she can do and I will have to wait? And she knew what the contract said???
ABSOLUTE LIAR!!

I continued to refuse any further work until my account was settled, so, Second time it’s about 12 weeks and the third payment I only got, after I emailed HR (who is the head of accounts) threatened them
With legal actions (as this is the proper way to do things for applying for a court order who will Instruct bailiffs) as this was absolute breach of contract. An industrial tribunal was avoided. Shame really was looking for a fight

They still call me. I won’t do any work for them.

LOOK UP LOCAL GAS SAFE ENGINEERS ON THE GAS SAFE WEBSITE. WILL BE CHEAPER AND YOU WILL ALWAYS FIND ONE LOCAL.

CUSTOMERS AND JOB SEEKERS BEWARE! I've recently been looking for a job. ERG called and offered me an interview. As usual, I researched the company and I was absolutely disgusted with how they treat their customers and staff. Employers waiting months to get paid. Customers being scammed out of their hard earned money. HUGE RED FLAGS EVERYWHERE. I told them I refuse to lie for a paycheck.

Also, they bribe customers with Amazon gift cards to leave reviews, then never send the gift cards.
How these people sleep at night is absolutely beyond me.

Absolute disgusting company!!! Needed an electrician to come sort my lights! And not only did he CUT A LIVE WIRE THAT WAS NEEDED! He also didn’t fix the problem! He also didn’t leave when asked too within the hour due to charging 165 per hour!!! So tried charging us 330 pounds!! I started up a chat with them and they wasn’t having none of it refused to pay the 330!! Said they could have 165 for an hour pay as HE DIDNT EVEN FIX THE ISSUE! And looked at my bank and they’ve taken 198 pounds out!!! I’ve taken them to watch dog! He was rude swearing and carrying on coz he couldn’t do a simple job instead made it worse and was hissing at my cats!!!! I’m taking this matter FURTHER YOU WONT HEAR THE LAST OF ME MARK MY WORDS!!!

Further to a post I have already put on here just checked my bank account and erg have taken £150 from my bank even though the clown they sent round was absolutey useless and was even using my own tools because he didnt bring any!!
These people should be reported to watchdog for there so called services!Disgusting!

The said they don't charge a call-out fee. The plumber came and told me I needed a new boiler. Took five minutes. Did absolutely no work. They charged me £175.

Absolute con artists!
Advertise "no call out fee" but basically charge an hours labour (£135+VAT) for any attendance. I was charged this for "tracing leak in waste pipe", which involved lifting a small section of floorboard I had pre-loosened and sniffing a puddle. The plumber they sent verbally confirmed that the visit was only a call out and I was still charged. I was also told when booking the initial appointment this rate included parts. It does not.
They take card details over the phone on booking. Don't give them as you'll be charged regardless of whether any work is done.

Warning very expensive, quick to give a quote and then you get let down from times given. Customer service is a job to get through to. My advice avoid ERG

Do not use this company. They did not turn up twice for an emergency leak for my mother who has dementia

ABISMAL RIP OFF MERCHANTS - SCAM
Yep, as per reviews below - CON ARTISTS. Charged £60 call out, sent two complete tools round, 2hrs late, didn't fix the issue, actually called the boiler company to diagnose the fault, even though the fault light was on, didn't offer to fix it, said get boiler company to, took front off, did nothing, in the house for less than 30mins... Charged £192 all in, FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, the two "engineers" couldn't even make eye contact when they took my money. JOKE - DO NOT USE.

One of the worst companies I have dealt with. They have scammed me. A plumber came over to do some work, I have been told it would take him 1 hour for the price of £135 plus VAT, before starting the work I was told it will take 4-5 hours, I have declined and the plumber left. The next day I have realised that ERG have withdrawn £170 from my bank account for no reason. When I have contacted them the next day to ask why I was charged and asked to speak to the manager, her attitude was so rude, she was basically shouting at me. This is the worst customer service I have ever received and was NOT refunded my money. When I told them i will take them to court, the manager laughed at me and said yeah go ahead.

AVOID THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE SCAMMING PEOPLE! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD DETAILS.

Masqueraded as local business, doubtless paying Google for their name to appear at the top of the local list. Sky-high price (£135 + VAT), on a weekday and daytime, for relighting our pilot light on the boiler. 5 minutes, in and out. In fairness, the price was announced when the job was booked, but still ....

Avoid!! I warn you

Quote for 160 an hour plus vat (that £190 an hour )
Job done in 10 mins and charge for 1 hour rate, i dont mind charge me half hour rate but not 1 hour rate!!
They take card details first please avoid if you can.
Same problem with my boiler was charge £90 by different company.

No stars! Avoid! Phoned to book a central heating flush, was told they were coming today. Booked a day off, got everything sorted for them, no show at 0930 so phoned and was told they’d be there by 3. Then they phoned at 12.30 and said they couldn’t make it till Thursday. At which point I cancelled, having wasted a day off work. Having now read the comments on here I’m glad they never came!

Awful customer service. Called to cancel an appointment and the girl on the end of the phone was outright rude.
Also think its disgusting that they put an image on their website of trustpilot with 5 stars, when they actually have 1.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE RIP OFF MERCHANTS
and any complaints go through to an extremely biased women in customer care who has a chip on her shoulder, maybe from all the complaints she receives.
They take your £93 "site survey" and you get nothing in return.
One of the worst companies I've had the pleasure of calling.
