RUN! Warranty Scam

I had no issues until I needed to use my warranty — and that’s where everything fell apart.

My warranty covered a replacement device. I received a confirmation email saying it would be delivered. It never came. After three hours on the phone with three different representatives, I found out it had never even shipped. One rep told me it was because I hadn’t returned my broken device first — but my confirmation email clearly stated I had 14 days after receiving the replacement to send it back. When I pointed this out, I was told to “read between the lines.”

A week later I finally got an answer: they were out of stock. Three weeks from the date of my claim to receiving a replacement device — and when it finally arrived, it wasn’t even the right one. They offered me a different model without disclosing it was inferior to what I originally had. Nobody mentioned that at any point in the process.

I never opened or activated the device. They are still refusing to replace it with a model that matches what I originally had. And to make it worse, I am still being charged my full monthly bill for a service I cannot use — because of their failure to fulfill a warranty claim I was entitled to.

Zero accountability, outsourced support that can’t give consistent answers, and a warranty process designed to wear you down until you give up. Buyer beware.

This service deserves no stars

This service deserves no stars. I haven't even had service for a week and they cut my phones off for a $.10 unpaid balance. After I paid what was stated on their bill. I kept receiving an unknown charge, as they never specified what it was. Then ilafter leaving work, I tried to use my phones and it said my Sim cards were not active. I had to drive without any service whatsoever. Only for me to be put on the line and told I needed to pay 10 cents as the bill was actually ten cents over what I "manually paid". I told them that it was what their statement said not what I went out of my way to pay. Then they say no worries I just have to pay ten cents. I cave and go to pay only for the minimum amount to be ten dollars. Of which the clueless customer service rep had no knowledge of. He would not waive the ten cents as I hadn't seen anywhere stating that a ten cent charge would occur. Told me to pay the 10 dollars and that he would "credit me" on the next bill. To which I asked if he would give me a credit I wouldn't have to pay. O ly for him to say no, it would be the ten dollars I'm already paying. Spent 30 minutes asking for a supervisor. The supervisor was "unavailable " but not unavailable for him to put me on hold and speak to a supervisor. Only for him to come back and tell me that I had to pay the 10 dollars and that the supervisor could email me. This is the absolute worst service I have ever used. If it wasn't for the fact that I caught it on a deal and it is rhe only service available for my current watch. I would've run back to my old company. Currently looking for any company I can switch to.

Where do I start

Where do I start? Well, this company sucks I just bought 2 phones from google fi and they are definitely trash. I ordered them in May and since then they have either been too slow to use or just keep saying restart your phone. The phones were actually refurbished phones, and you are not told that at all. I ordered the Samsung A17 not knowing that the operating system would crash. I'm being told I would have to send in the phone and wait for them to determine the phone is defective which leaves me without a phone or they can put a hold on my credit card for a new one until they get the bad phone back which I definitely am not doing either. If the phone is no good then I should be sent a new phone. Google FI Sucks I would never recommend them at all.

If I could give Google fi zero stars I would. They have been nothing but useless. They literally canceled 4 of my orders and didn't give a reason. When I tried to contact them literally everyone I came into contact with was an absolute MORON. Less than useless. They told me to change my payment. I did. Still cancelled. Now they want to cancel and pay a prorated bill. I didn't even get to use my service. I will not be paying it.

A horrible, multi-facetted customer service experience with Google Fi

I signed up with Google Fi, since I am in the military and needed a good international phone plan. Connected with this, I signed up for a deal: I purchased a Google Pixel 10a, and I was promised that, for making this purchase, I would receive $30 per month off for the first 12 months of a $65 per month Unlimited Premium plan. I only bought the Google Pixel 10a, which is not a very good phone, for the deal. Then, after my first bill came through, I was not given the promised discount. I called customer service about this, and they said I needed to have associated my Google email with my phone upon purchase. However, when I purchased the phone and signed up for a Google Fi account, a service representative assured me that everything was good-to-go for my discount. I was never told anything like, “To make this discount work, you need to link your phone to the email we have on file.” Also, nothing like this was given in any instructions connected with the discount offer. So, I was lied to, and the response from Google Fi customer service has essentially been, "Well, it sucks to be you."

Additionally, I signed up for Google Fi's Unlimited Premium plan, and I was promised the ability to make calls to U.S. numbers at no additional charge. This has also been a lie: I call other U.S. service members on a regular basis, since my job requires this, and I am charged extra for making international calls.

I specifically switched to Google Fi, and signed up for their Premium Unlimited plan, so I could make international calls, to U.S. numbers, at no additional cost. Similarly, I bought the Google Pixel 10a specifically for the promised discount. In either case, Google Fi has failed to fulfill its promises to me, which I was very meticulous about clarifying with over-the-phone customer service agents before signing the contract.

My recommendation is do not give your service to Google Fi. Do not believe this company when you are promised a discount or promotion. You will have to spend a lot of time trying to get Google Fi to honor their deals, and in the end, like me, you might just be told, "I am sorry, too bad for you." Additionally, do not believe Google Fi customer service agents when they tell you everything is in order and will work out per the promised deal. Again, this company has no intention of giving quality customer service, such as by making good on any deals they make. Rather, while they will charge you full price for everything, they will not perform their part of the exchange by working with customers toward achieving win-win outcomes. Instead, from my experience thus far with Google Fi, this company believes in win-lose: the company wins, and the customer loses.

Google Fi's ability to deliver on its promises is horrible, and its customer service is equally deplorable.

Don't use them at all period......

Don't use them at all period....... To start with they have the worst signal ever. I would need to make a call or text and couldn't. Then I lost service all together and over a two day period and 8hrs on the phone with 5 different employees they still couldn't get my service reactivated! I asked for a Supervisor and was told one would email me in 2-3 days! I couldn't believe this that they would let me go without phone service and think I would wait for a Supervisor! I switched to Verizon right away! I lost my service on Monday and the Supervisor emailed me on Friday asking if I still needed help! Unreal!

Google Fi doesn't appear to have customer support

My experience with Google Fi support is that if your request cannot be performed by automation, there is no human support. I've called and been on hold for 15"+ on the customer support number never having had anyone receive my call or resolve my issue. Google Fi is ok if it is working appropriately, but there is no actual customer support.

0 stars if I could

0 stars if I could. Customer service is atrocious. Upgraded my phone and they continued to charge me device protection for months eventhough the phone was inactivated and returned. Apparently there was nothing they could do about it. Also, the customer service people struggle to communicate effectively. English is not the first language and these customer service folks are not helpful when you can't even communicate with them.

Support is powerless to action meaningful assistance.

I ordered a new phone and included a trade in package for my old phone. The trade in showed for 200$ assuming the phone was in the condition I stated it was. I placed the order and the new phone showed up but the trade in kit did not. When I reached out to google support they told me my only option was to return the new phone and start the entire order over again to add a new trade in to the new phone. They never acknowledged that their website somehow removed my trade in during check out and refused to provide a reasonable resolution. Both level 1 and their supervisor.

Frustrating Customer Service. Deliberate customer blocking

My experience with Google Fi has been frustrating due to the lack of transparency and accessibility. The website hides the account number, does not offer PDF billing, and the support section is designed to avoid direct human contact. The phone number, chat, and email are not clearly visible; everything redirects to a one way message form that rarely receives a response. The customer support is one of the most difficult I have encountered.

Terrible experience

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience with Google Fi has been frustrating enough that I feel it’s worth sharing.

I’ve now received multiple replacement devices, all of which arrived defective (issues included a non-working flashlight and display problems). What’s more concerning is the support process.

I initially requested help within the 15-day return window, but was told to wait until my original device was received before moving forward. At the same time, I kept getting notifications that my return hadn’t been received—which turned out to be a system issue that only one support rep eventually resolved after multiple calls.

Since then, my case has been closed more than once without resolution, despite repeated follow-ups and clear documentation that the current device is defective. I’ve had to call multiple times just to keep the issue alive, and ultimately had to request a supervisor.

The final response I received was that I’m outside the 15-day window and can only receive the same model again—even after multiple defective replacements.

At this point, the issue isn’t just a faulty device—it’s a breakdown in process, communication, and accountability.

I’m still hoping for a fair resolution, but in the meantime, I’d strongly encourage others to be aware of how replacement issues are handled if something goes wrong.

Mostly good; but sneaky advertising/terms/promotions.

I had Google Fi service for many years and was overall happy with the experience, but the quality has eroded over the last a few years. For example, they market their Unlimited Premium plan as being able to use your phone abroad and unlimited in many countries without needing a local SIM (which is true), but what they don't tell you (unless you read the fine print) is that you need to come back to the USA every few months and remain there for at least a month to not have your international data suspended. Thankfully, my phone has dual SIM, so when I was in Malaysia and they unexpectedly turned off my data, I was able to convert my Fi service to an eSim, change from the Unlimited Premium to the Flexible plan (so I could still have SMS/voice on my US number while abroad), and then I just installed local SIM cards for data as I traveled to different countries. Had my phone not been dual SIM, I would have lost access to my US number (and 2FA banking PINs, security codes, etc.) while abroad in a foreign country. Next, I was recently thinking of returning to Fi due to their new promotion to qualify for a nice phone discount/rebate. It clearly says in their marketing that a "new Fi customer" is someone who hasn't had Google Fi service for 180 days. But, even though my last date of service was July 27, 2025 and today is February 28, 2026, I am told today that I would not qualify for the promotion since 2 billing cycles need to fully complete to "end service" as they see it, so a reasonable observer would have easily been tricked into a contract and purchased a new phone without any discount. But, after doing some research, I learned about Tello as an alternative, while is lower cost and allows access to your US number while abroad without ever shutting off your service unexpectedly because you didn't come back to the US within a few months. On a positive note, the App is simple and easy to use, and the billing each month is clear and easy to read. Overall, Google Fi used to be great, until it wasn't.

I'm giving you one star because it has…

I'm giving you one star because it has been okay for a few months but I tried to change my phone number and they gave me the same area code but a different phone number and said that I could not change it for 28 days. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced with any phone company and I would never recommend them to anyone

Google should get out of the phone…

Google should get out of the phone business. And 1 star is too many stars! I'm expecting a class action suit again this branch of Google. It's down right fraudulent. The story: Google had a promo to join their service for 50% off the first year. Great! Then they said, we also have a promo for a watch which they kept advertising to me. Great! I'll buy some watches. Watches arrive and 10 days before the promo expires they say, "Activate your watch before you lose the promo." so I try activating them. Call support. They can't figure it out either. Oh wait. We can't honor that promo any more for you. You owe $400 for each of the watches. Full price. Sorry. It's because we had you do an esim and already had one promo on your account.
Oh, and we're going to continue to charge you for a phone line we're having trouble porting. So we charge you monthly ad so does tmobile. Oh. and our service is worse. Oh and we don't care whatsoever. Go kick rocks.

Negative stars:

New and existing Fi customers are eligible for this offer I'm an active customer. After putting device on Fi line. I'm told I will be paying $400 extra, because I didn't port in a number. I tried using a current number from my Fi plan for 2 days. They wouldn't change the email. It was holiday so I said cancel I'll put phone on new line. My son is not a new customer. They aren't a customer. They don't pay. Also. I have a phone number we tried to use, which was over a year old. And you refused to change an email to my son's email. And we needed service activated. Either way. Do you allow service to 12 year old children? No. Also, I had been paying for the canceled line for over 12 months and you never activated service to it. And I totally forgot. Never an email or anything. So, you billed me 12 months for a line you never activated and now you're scamming $400 because you claim an "email" is a valid customer. An email is not an account. An email is not an entity. An email is not a social security. Do you have my child's social security? Than it's not possible it is a new customer. Either way, it says existing clients.

Bad Experience

My husband and I have had a very disappointing experience with Google Fi Wireless, and after multiple calls for help, we are switching to T-Mobile.

We have an important issue: our insurance company (and only our insurance company) cannot call either of our Google Fi numbers, which has jeopardized our renewal for 2026. I called Google Fi Support three separate times and followed every single troubleshooting step they suggested — twice. Nothing worked.

I finally requested a supervisor, and yesterday I received an email that essentially blamed the problem on our insurance carrier, even though the insurer has confirmed repeatedly that the issue is not on their end. They simply cannot connect to Google Fi’s routing to reach our numbers.

Here’s what’s most frustrating:
• Google Fi acknowledged they “cannot confirm a resolution.”
• They blamed the other provider despite the evidence.
• They offered no meaningful solution.
• This is an issue with Google Fi’s routing, not our insurance company.
• It is unacceptable when customers rely on these calls for essential services.

We are senior citizens on a fixed income. Something as basic as receiving a phone call shouldn’t be this difficult — especially after hours on the phone with support.

We are ending our service and switching to T-Mobile after this horrible experience. I hope Google Fi takes this seriously and improves their customer support and network reliability.
