Used this over 3 weeks probably 15 rides

THES best service, yes it may take 3-5 min to get a taxi but will save you 70% or more, we had a taxi tell us $50 and the free now ( 4 min wait) was $9

So the wait is worth it..

Better then the Hop-on-off and better then taxi or Uber

Dreadful service…

I have been using the taxi app for two years, since I moved to live in Dun Laoire. The driver arrives late, then wastes time explaining why. They don’t bother coming down all the way to my house. This means, going out, Winter in the dark ti look for them. I am elderly, and do not appreciate this. Would that I could phone a company and book a taxi. I’m never sure when a driver is going to turn up with FreeNow. The Irish sounding drivers, (white- skinned) are the worst. Very unpleasant mostly.

Scammers

Would not recommend using this uber app for taxis in rome.
Wanted to take a 10min journey In rome the price on the app said between €16 - €23 I knew it would end up being the €23 but it was easier than location the public transport. So pre ordered the taxi the day before. On the day 5mins before pickup my taxi was cancelled and they sent out a replacement taxi. Soon as he pulled up and realised we were english. He pulled out a card machine. I looked at my husband and whispered I've paid through the app why is he getting that out. A few mins later we arrived and the man said roma roma no work. Saying his phone isn't working with the app. Then said put on the card machine €39 this would of been the 3rd time being ripped off in rome using taxis and uber apps. I told the man I'm not paying that amount when the amount on the app was less. He said no it no work. I stood firm and said no not paying. So then he took the machine and then put in €30 again I refused to pay as it was a 10min drive and the app said less. After he had a tantrum he then dropped the price to €25 which I then agreed to as it was only €2 more than the app. Absolutely appalling. You use these apps so you get a genuine price and you pay through the app so you don't have to be scammed through the note scam. Yet they try scam you anyway. This was the 3rd app used and all 3 were the same. Don't use it, not reliable nothing but a bunch of scammers leaving a bitter taste in your mouth.

Totally unreliable. Do not use!

Totally unreliable. Pre-booked a few days prior to my flight. Was told that a driver was found a couple of day prior to travel. A few minutes prior to travel I was informed that the driver had cancelled!! And they were searching for a new driver... Who was found - thankfully - but the pick up time had a 15 minutes delay and I almost missed my flight. Not to mention the distress!!!! And they also say that they give some discounts for the first trips. B@#$t!!!! at its finest. Do not use!

Brilliant Service

After reading some of the comments on here I was a little concerned about using Freenow. However, I downloaded the app and booked a taxi 24 hours in advance, and with enough time allowed to use another firm should there be an issue. My fears were totally unfounded. I received a message to confirm the booking immediately and on the day of travel the taxi was outside 15 minutes before the booked time. The driver, Gulam, was very polite and a great driver. I would definitely use Freenow again.

Price way above the indicated range

When I checked the price of my destination, it was in the range 34-55. When I got home -- no traffic at all and I didn't have any luggage -- the chareged bill was 58 euros. I wrote to them and they transferred back 3 euros because "the final fare was a little more than we’d normally expect for a trip this length". If you *normally* expect 55 euros, don't write anything different than that on the price expectation, as it is just a way to attract customer with (very) false expectations. I am going to report this to a customer association for misleading advertisment and more. Never again. It was the first time for me to book a FreeNow from the airport -- I take "normal" taxis and the same route costs 40 euros at worse, but I chose FreeNow as, apparently, I had a 50% discount. It turns out that that 50% was max 6 euros discount. Misleading, again.

Freenow taxi app now often scamming

Freenow taxi app - nu svindler flere/scam - do not cancel - let the taxi driver cancel - again this weekend we had a bad experience with Freenow taxi drivers in Barcelona. We booked Thursday night for 24 hour later collection at a hotel on c. Trafalgar. We arrived before time and app was searching for drivers. After some waiting time one driver accepted. He was not close - so we send through the app a message when coming. He replied car problems. A little later - please cancel as still car problems. We asked him to cancel as he could not deliver. We ordered a new taxi and time was running as had a seated dinner on Tibidabo Observatory. Again same thing "problems with car". That we should cancel. We did not. Our name on the app is not very spanish but obviously that we are gringos. We got a taxi at the closest taxi stand and paid him 25 euro + 5 euro tip. We again preeboked a taxi for pick up 2,5 hours later. Another driver accepted but to us very strange - he was driving around near La Mina and 25 minutes far far away. Again same - we asked when coming but no reply. After watching him drive around La Mina zone - we asked him to cancel if not coming. He denied and replied. We did not cancel as we could wait in the bar and now could feel it was a scam. As we did not cancel - he now wrote problems with car - please cancel. We told him again to cancel. Now we could feel his frustration and he started to push us to cancel. We denied as we found out we would be charged 10 euro and he would then still get think 3 euro for us canceling on him. Now he started calling and in english (he had pakistani similar name and accent if I may say so) got quite aggressive. He called evey 2 minutes maybe 20 times. Finally we picked up again and told him to cancel and took the liberty to tell him we thought he was scamming us. After some forth and back he did admit to this and that he had a lot of time to wait as he had stopped for dinner and that we should cancel and that he would get his money so or so. We did not. About one hour he had finally finished dinner and gone all the way up to Tibidabo (we had by then left with another taxi from another app). He did not find us and now Freenow charged us 30 euro. Be aware and please spread the word as looking back now - we have had it quite a few times now in Barcelona and Hamburg.

Be very wary of this app

Be very wary of this app. I used for the first time yedterday and 4 minutes before my taxi was due got a notification that the driver had cancelled. 10 minutes later i received a notification that i would be charged 10 euros for cancelling. Apparently its common practice, the driver gets a better fare, says the passenger has cancelled. This is fraud. Steer well clear.

Charged €140 for a 16minute journey when meter said €14

Ordered a taxi from Blanchardstown shopping centre to go to Blanch village. Meter said €14 but when I got the email receipt, it was for €140. It’s all on the app the distance it took, the minutes myself and my partner were in the car. No response from Freenow. €127 out of pocket. I want my money back!

Can’t even update mobile number

Regrettably, my recent encounter with FREENOW proved rather disheartening. In need of updating my mobile number, I found myself unceremoniously logged out of my account. Despite having an email affixed to said account, the support team cited GDPR or its ilk as prohibitive to my request. Quite the inconvenience, I must say. In contrast, services such as Bolt offer a far more seamless experience. One hopes that FREENOW endeavors to refine its user-centric approach henceforth.

Pre book doesn’t work

Pre ordered a taxi for next day. Pre paid FREENOW. . As is now customary no driver waa assigned. Ten minutes before it is due to come I look at the app and it says it’s looking for a driver for my “pre book”. Driver finally accepts and arrives 10 mins late and I am late for my appointment.

To add insult to injury, freenow then offers a “priority” service for an additional fee.

So accept my order time, let me pay and then do g do anything?? What a joke of an app.
