IT. IS. PERFECT.
Use it on Duolingo and it works really well-stopping adds- no need to get Duolingo plus anymore! i have been looking for something like this but never found one as good as this. Though do not like the way it tells you how many ads it blocks or the way that it leaves the box that the ad used to be in.

Nice work!
Great, shows the total number of ads blocked, but it slows down the browser. I'm using Chrome on Windows 10, 8GB of RAM, and the sites are loading faster, but they sometimes freeze.

Yes, it will block your Facebook ads but they just get reolaced by Facebook 'Sponsored' items, which are just ads by a different name!!!!
When I raised this with AdBlock 'support' they responded with the following 'Thanks for contacting AdBlock. We definitely know how annoying those sponsored posts are. You are correct that Facebook doesn't really call consider them ads so I think they are able to technically work around some of the laws around coding them as such. This, amongst a few other technical reasons related to the fact that Facebook really wants you to see them, makes them very hard for us to block."
Bottom line is that you're stuck with Facebook Ads (in whatever guise FB choose to call them) and AdBlock just doesn't help. AVOID!!!!!!

I'm sorry you weren't happy with AdBlock! AdBlock does not replace ads with anything; Facebook is always chock full of both "sponsored posts" and actual advertisements. However, only the latter are considered actual ads. This does have to do partly with the way Facebook uses their code to "hide" those sponsored posts from browser extensions. Facebook goes to great lengths to ensure that their sponsored posts remain unblocked, and they have an entire department dedicated to circumventing ad blockers. We're just a tiny team of 13 over here, and it's tough to win a fight against such a well-financed opponent.
That said, we're constantly on the lookout for ways to make AdBlock better and continue to look for ways to get around Facebook's enormous ad blocking circumvention efforts. Please note as well that AdBlock is free; you can make a donation to support us, but you never have to spend your money to use AdBlock. EasyList is a critical filter list and is required in order to block ads on most websites. We don't recommend disabling this filter list if you'd like to block ads. Adblock even blocks ads before videoes on Youtube.
