Car hire from Malaga airport
Car hire from Malaga airport, very happy with the condition of the car received, the shuttle, and communication. I will recommend to anyone looking for a decent car hire company. You hear horror stories from people about not getting deposit back etc but these guys were honest and trustworthy. All deposit to be returned as confirmed in an email receipt. Fair fuel policy also fantastic. 10/10 from start to finsh. They do have an 'out of hours' charge which is the smallest i've found (20 euro) compared to 'budget' rentals. Felt a bit unnecessary as they are open 24/7, that would be my only negative comment, but not a huge deal breaker.

We choose a car on the website. By delivery they told us that the car wasn't fit for going into the mountains !??
For a better car we had to pay more.
After the holiday there was a fine for driving to quickly.
We had to pay €42 at Helle Hollis for giving our address to the police. While this takes only a few minutes.

We would like to clarify that the car you originally booked was absolutely available for you to use. As our staff understood that you planned to drive in the mountains, they simply recommended a larger model with more horsepower for additional comfort on steep roads. This recommendation is always completely optional, and customers are of course free to continue with their original booking if they prefer.
Regarding the administration fee related to the speeding fine, this is mentioned in the rental agreement and covers the administrative handling required when processing fines received from the authorities. It also includes assistance from our team should customers need help with the payment process.
We do appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the way we explain these situations during pick-up.

This is the best car hire company in…
5* Car rental Malaga. This is the best car hire company in Malaga that I have used over the last 20 years. The staff are so good, polite, courteous and the efficiency is second to none, and there are no hidden costs or trying to sell you additional insurance like some of the other Car companies is a like a breath of fresh air. I would advise the full insurance to protect yourself as a precaution. I googled the reviews before I booked with them for the first time and I can say that I am not disappointed at all. I cannot praise this car hire company enough.

high insurance selling
can you please confirm this as caught by other car hire in malaga
i have my own full cover insurance for spain ... if i was to book a car and you need my credit card but it only has my initials and not full name do you still accept my card for the deposit and not try and sell me the high full cover insurance of say 23 euros per day .

Hi Tony, Thank you for your kind review and for your question. We can confirm that using your own full cover insurance is absolutely fine. You would simply leave the excess deposit, which is refunded when the car is returned without any damage.
Regarding the credit card, it must clearly show your name and match your driving licence and passport. A card with an initial and full surname (for example, T. Williams) is acceptable. However, a card showing only initials (such as T.W.) would not be accepted, as we need to verify that the card belongs to the main driver and prevent any potential fraud. As an alternative, we also offer a daily super excess waiver insurance from around 10euros per day, depending on the car group chosen.

Overall a good service and good price…
Overall a good service and good price will use again when visiting, however we booked a SUV XL because we are a family of 5 and had a fair bit of luggage with us so we knew we need a larger vehicle with plenty of boot space, we was disappointed when we was given a mazda cx-30. I don't think this vehicle should be in the SUV XL group as its considerably smaller compared to the other vehicles in the same group especially the boot space, all the other models have over 520 litres of boot space and the mazda only has around 400 quite a big difference especially when you have booked a car specifically for a larger boot thinking that was what we was going to receive but didn't. We ended up having to put one suitcase on top of the parcel shelf and was just about able to close the boot. The vehicles in the SUV AUT group have a closer boot size and spec to the mazda cx-30, We would still book again but will be asking for a different model next time in the SUV XL group with a larger boot.

Airport transfer was easy to find and very quick. Pickup process also quick and efficient. The car was good quality and had no issues during the rental period.
At drop off the car was quickly reviewed and the deposit return processed immediately

When something goes wrong
You only know how good a company is when something goes wrong. After having an accident in a HH (Malaga) hired car, I now know that the response time is pretty good (under an hour for the tow truck to come), the after-accident service is very good (prompt answering phones out of hours, a courtesy taxi provided to the hospital to visit my wife who had to be checked, a replacement car offered for the next day) and the procedures are clearly explained. Car pick-up was well-organised, though a queueing system for the bus at the airport would be appreciated. Good to see no heavy sell on excess waiver insurance at the desk, although in my case it would have saved me some hassle claiming back from my independent insurer. I didn't take the replacement car offered, so I know nothing about drop-off.
I would definitely look at HH first for future car hire after my experience with them.

Great car rental,
Although it has been 1 year since I rented a car from Hellehollis for the second time, I would like to write a positive review now. I had such a horrible experience in Portugal with the car company Guerin, that I now realized how brilliant Hellehollis is. Next year I will fly to Malaga again and will definitely rent a car here again.

An unpleasant experience
Arrived at Malaga Airport after a long day travelling. Had to call the Courtesy bus and waited some considerable time before it showed up. When we picked it our car it was filthy despite advertising that a cars received car wash before being collected. Won't be using Helli Hollis again and definitely not would not recommend.

We can see that you have written this review for Helle Hollis Parking and not for Helle Hollis Car Rental services.
Helle Hollis Parking also has a courtesy bus service when you collect your parked car and the waiting time should of course not be too long. We apologize if you felt you waited long time but we do our utmost to minimize the waiting time. Unfortunately, sometimes external factors as heavy traffic to the Airport can slow down the service.
With regards to the free machine wash of your car, then this is only offered when parking is 7 days or longer. The parking in your case was 4 days. The advertising you mentioned is for one-year parking service where this service is included in a package.
