Valued customer
I have recently issued a complaint due to a mistake on my account due to my faulty boiler and I can happily say that this has been resolved in a very quick and professional manner! I am very impressed as to how HomeServe have looked after me as a customer and I will continue my policy with them as they have really shown me how they will go the extra mile to help/support their customers.
I would especially like to mention Melissa Rice as she has dealt with my query so quickly to ensure that is resolved and due to her I will keep my policy with HomeServe as she has made me feel like a valued customer.
Thank you again!

On Sunday of all days we found a leak…
On Sunday of all days we found a leak in the bathroom on the cold water pipe. Rang HomeServe and a very helpful lady took all the details and gave
us a time when the engineer would call, it must have been half an hour and he was on the doorstep. Very efficient, lovely young guy think his name was Don. So clean and tidy and copper pipe was used. I cannot thank you all at HomeServe for such a well run company. Such peace of mind as we are pensioners and just a relief that it was fixed so quickly.
Fast efficient and polite service
Fast efficient and polite service. Solved the plumbing problems I had quickly. Very pleased
Booked to have my Central Heating…
Booked to have my Central Heating Boiler serviced by them, the engineer came out, early even though I had made a point that I would not be there between 8am and 9am and the engineer would have to call after then, the engineer turned up at 8.05am. Sorted this to get him back later in the day he then serviced the boiler and told us that the emissions for CO2 were very high, and that the boiler would have to be cut off as this was classed as dangerous. The boiler had been serviced a month before and passed all these tests. They then shut off all the gas supply to the house, even though my partner is crippled with 3 forms of athritus, so no hot water, no heating and no cooking facilities.
We were then told that the boiler was beyond economical repair and that a new boiler would need to be fitted as the boiler we had was by a crap manufacturer anyway. Found out from another gas engineer the boiler emission were not over the safe amount, and that the flue needed replacing and the boiler would be fine, and also that there was no need for the gas supply to be cut off at all.
So all that Homeserve want to do is get you to buy a new boiler from them so that going forward they would service this. Well Homeserve or Helplink as you are also known. Dont contact me or even attempt any apology, you are the biggest bull s******* going.
A non-existent service from a…
A non-existent service from a subversively ever-higher charging company. Waited for a simple plumbing issue call out. After rescheduling a whole 6 hour slot to make myself available, last week's appointment was cancelled because the Engineer was apparently sick. Rearranged a tight day for what could have been another 6 hour period only to be told after 2.5hrs the engineer was running late and wouldn't be attending within the slot. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. AND WHATCH THE EVER INCREASING CHARGES.
Mixed feelings about the service
It's difficult to judge whether it's poor admin communications between office and engineers or engineers to engineers who fail to pass info between each other.
3 Engineer visits to change 3 radiator valves/thermostats. Photos of the job taken on initial visit and parts ordered. 2nd engineer came later to fix 3 leaks we didn't have. Not aware of any photos taken. More photos and parts ordered again.
3rd engineer came with limited info on the job, not aware of photos taken . Fitted 3 radiator valves/thermostats thank you !
3rd engineer left a card to phone if any problems . He bled the system and left. However after I bled the system 3 times there was still 1 radiator stone cold. Tried to phone the number 3 days later, no reply.
Mixed experience with Homeserve and it seems there are problems with their comms to their engineers and between engineers.
Top 3 on my list of companies who are…
Top 3 on my list of companies who are unorganised. really disappointing service. called numerous times and every time I call them I receive a different answer every time.
Never been informed to get my boiler checked by home serve, they blame a backlog of work needs to be done 5 days without hot water or heating, people in the house old are getting ill, so this is not class as urgent. DISGUSTED in there response time and service and it been me chasing them consistently.
All I asked for is to get the radiator checked as 2 was not working now the whole house hold is without hot water and heating.
Where do I start
Where do I start? Had boiler serviced for two years under HES before it went back to homeserve ownership. Not a single problem identified. When I had a fault however, a month or so after the service, suddenly, it Doesn't conform to current standards " as there's no external overflow....they didn't mention that when servicing! Then, they have the nerve to double the price of my plan because apparently, the £13 I was paying was an "introductory offer" because they changed from HES back to homeserve.... Which it was originally anyway! HES is owned by homeserve... It's the same company and always has been! Rip off knob jockeys!
Boiler service & CP12 appointment failure
Boiler service & CP12 booked 8am-1pm - engineer didn't come - chased up, engineer was very busy but would be onsite before 5pm - came 4:40 pm and did quick efficient job - I lodged complaint with Homeserve - after investigation unsurprisingly my complaint was "upheld" - Homeserve thanked me for the info but refused compensation for making me revise my plans because "the service was (eventually) fulfilled on the same day". As a Landlord I've been with Homeserve for several years and found the technical service good the admin side still needs improvement
WARNING
Yet again I have had to contact them with an ongoing claim ( 6 weeks and counting) regarding c/heating boiler repair after visits from 4 engineers and having new parts fitted the problem remains. Each time a new appt.is given which is approx.7days time then when and if a engineer attends he then as to order parts and give another appt. Cannot fault the engineers they can only do so much. Hopefully one day I will be able to write a good review but do not hold your breath
My wife eventually had a conversation…
My wife eventually had a conversation with Homeserve after several hours of waiting for calls to be answered, e tried from Wednesday evening on Thursday an emergency appointment as booked for Monday 5th March, please note that we have no heating or hot water. Thursday afternoon we were promised by Homeserve temporary heaters to be delivered Friday, my wife called at 1.15 pm to ask when the promised heaters will arrive only to find the these heaters will not arrive as they have none available. Why Homeserve could not communicate via phone email , this sums up the contempt this company has for it's customers, I am totally disgusted, please take this as a warning , please avoid this company .
the engineer who was supposed to repair…
the engineer who was supposed to repair my boiler 3 months ago, has yet to get the parts! i have been spending more than 40 mins on average on a daily basis for the last 2 weeks to have this sorted and no success. apparently the case has been reviewed by one of the senior manager but he is never contactable. shocking to say the least.
Professional, friendly and efficient service
We had our ancient boiler and hot water tank replaced with a system boiler and unvented cylinder and relocated. It wasn't cheap, but HomeServe Cambridge and Harlow were excellent in their communication throughout and in the professional and friendly way the work was carried out. Their post-installation follow-up also showed a good commitment to customer service.

Poor system, poor communication and no engineer!
Firstly the booking system is a little misleading but once that was sorted we managed to book a boiler service for the following Saturday (as that was the only available date within the following two weeks). Friday evening comes and we receive an email stating the engineer was too busy and couldn't make the Saturday so could we make one of 3 days the following week, so we emailed back and chose the Weds but I would have to work from home. They eventually emailed back stating the engineer could be with us at 8.00am and we replied confirming this was OK. So here we are at 7.00pm on Weds, still no visit or any communication to explain why! Homeserve Heating appears to be a franchise operation who sign up local engineers, who also have their own business they run alongside it. One assumes they prioritise their direct customers first as they get more money!
Despite their claim that they did not receive a reply to their email we have the reply we sent plus confirmation of delivery and had exchanged emails previously! We did also give a phone number!

Beware of online booking system
Earlier in the week I made an online booking for a boiler service on Saturday morning. Booking went through with no issues, email received confirming time etc. Everything great!
Fast forward to the day before the appointment, and I receive a phone call from HomeServe simply saying; "you've booked a boiler service for tomorrow... yeah, well we don't do that on the weekend..."
Why are these appointments being advertised on the booking system, and why would HomeServe leave it until the day before to contact me, by which time it's too late for me to make other arrangements??
I'm not happy at all with this service, and won't be recommending.
