The company HOSTENGA EUROPE LTD, the one that ripped us off, was dissolved on the 14 January 2025.
The owner of the company, Thomas BOSSON of French nationality, born in October 1972, has actually two other active companies, providing similar services.

Booked and paid for accommodation in Chamonix, France. 2 days before arrival we were notified that the accommodation was no longer available!
NOT A SINGLE word from the Co again! No replacement accommodation and NO REFUND!!

Same story as everyone else here. Booked accommodation in Nice, France for the summer via Booking.Com. Hostenga cancelled with 24hrs notice and we had to find alternative accommodation via AirBnB. Hostenga didn't reply to requests for refunds. Booking.Com tried to 'support' via their mediation service but were very clear it wasn't their problem to refund monies. Complained to Booking.Com's CEO who didn't reply. Am in the process of using chargebacks via banks to recover money which seems to be the only recourse available. Shame on Booking.Com for supporting this scam. Note that Hostenga trading address has moved from London to Dublin. Suspect they are wise to being shut down now. The Director who owns the business is a chap called Thomas Bosson and he has applied to dissolve Hostenga according to Companies House. Note that he has also started up a new company called Digitstay which looks remarkably like it is an e-commerce company that is in the business of "Management of real estate on a fee or contract basis"................

We booked our accomodation through booking.com from 7th august to 11th August in France Cagnes-sur-Mer, paid full amount and Hostenga cancelled our accomodation 1 day before our arrival at 10pm... We called immediately to booking.com, they found new accomodation and paid the difference between price of new accomodation and cancelled accomodation. But the full amount which we paid to Hostenga is still not paid by booking.com. Tons of e-mals, calls and they are just apologizing, no result. They asked us to provide bank confirmation ti proove our payment to Hostenga with ARN reference number- for this paper we paid another 20 eur, than they asked for full bank statement with All our bank transfers from August to now to confirm that we really did not get back money from Hostenga. And now after 4 months booking.com is telling me that I shoul ask my bank to get the money from Hostenga... Ridiculous... I was ordering the service from booking.com, they are responsuble to give me money back!!!! We are travelling a lot, in case they will not solve it, I will not book any accomodation through booking.com again. AVOID HOSTENGA!!!!

No accommodation, no refund, avoid, avoid
Booked an apartment in Nice through Booking Com I was charged to my credit card by this company Hostenga. The address given for the company on the receipt I received was in South Molten Street, London W1. Like others here no one met us at the property we booked, we then had to find other accommodation. We are still chasing the dreadful Booking Com for a refund who are doing everything they can to spin it out. Booking Com claim it was not a scam or false property and they had successful bookings at the property previously. I am not sure if that is true or not. I will persevere to ensure I get the refund, and have ceased all business with Booking Com and of course the scam company Hostenga Europe Limited.

Same experience as everyone else , made a reservation on Booking.com. Hostenga was the host at the apartment , Anis Furnished Flats in Aix-en -Provence 26 Septembre 2024 . Noone met up at the destination, I had nowhere to stay!!

How I wish I had checked Trust Pilot before paying for my accommodation in Nice to Hostenga. Like others, no one met us at the property and we had to find an alternative when we arrived. However, also like many reviewers, I booked through booking.com and trusted them to work in partnership with bona fide companies. They were singularly unhelpful when I contacted them about this while in Nice. My messages to the Customer Service team kept "timing out". The fact that they are aware of these issues and continue to advertise scam properties is deplorable.

It's been almost three months and no refund from Hostenga, even though they promised a refund when they cancelled the booking.
Fortunately Booking.com finally came to the party (after a little persistence on my side) and will refund the payment. I would NEVER book accommodation with Hostenga again, even via a third party website like Booking

Not recommended (at all). Booking.com pretty much useless to help as their terms are that if they have to cancel the appointment on the hosts behalf they have to pay the Host. So they just won't do it. Booking.com did at least remove the property from their listings after my complaints but it feels like they need to do a wholesale review.

The European Public Prosecutor's Office should intervene in the booking and check all these complaints. How can they allow themselves to deceive people
DONT BOOK - SCAM
Unfortunately I have also fallen prey to this scam but a few days before our trip I was offered free cancellation and something just told me to take it. Thankfully I did, otherwise I would have been stranded in Bordeaux with my 2 kids and no accommodation.
I am now painfully going through a process with Booking.Com to get a refund. Failing that I will contact my credit card company.
Shocking that Booking.Com still advertises properties for this scammer.

Booking.com scammed us too. We booked the same accommodation and turned up to find there was no host. Booking.com are taking zero responsibility or accountability. They have continued to advertise the place knowing full well that this is a scam. They have clearly signed a legal contract with this company so are liable and owe us (their customers) a full refund but are claiming that it’s the hosts job to refund us. They are in breach of so many laws and I am appalled that a company based in Europe is allowed to operate like which clearly goes against any European trading standards. I blame booking.com for not knowing their customers and working in partnership with scammers and fraudsters. I won’t be using them for anything again or any other company that isn’t regulated.

I’m afraid we are victims of same scam. Booking.com useless. Asked us for proof of payment etc etc which I’m sure will be ignored. Have asked the card company to look into this. Hostengatravel should be removed from booking.com at once!
