Hostenga scam…

We also had booked an apartment through booking.com with Hostenga group. 1 week from our due arrival - 28 th Aug our booking was cancelled with no explanation. We are currently trying to get our deposit refunded through booking.com.

Keep away from HOSTENGA LTD

Keep away from HOSTENGA LTD. They are scammers. We booked and prepaid an apartment in Chamonix through BOOKING.com and when we arrived no-one was there to give us the keys. Contacting them via their telephone numbers email or message option via booking.com was not possible.
They left us stranded on our holidays in July and we had to book and pay last minute for another hotel. Only after about 30 emails and messages to BOOKING.com and a threat to sue them did I manage to get a response about a refund! But even then the refund does not cover the extra costs of booking 2 different hotels last minute!

Fake entries on booking of Real properties

I arrived at an apartment listed by hostenga on booking.com and no one was there to let us in.

It turned out that they made photos of the actual apartment and added a fake entry.

We could actually rent the apartment from the Real rental by paying double the price.

Clearly Criminals, hosted by booking.com

action against hostenga needed from each one of you

I just wanted to share my opinion after seeing so many post here about the same scam as hostenga is doing again and again .
there should be a proper action against them so that their website must be removed from all social platforms like google facebook instagram etc.
looking at those they seems legit but indeed are complete fraud .
i think we all must need to take some actions so thay they must not fool others to do the same .
if anyone has any idea or lead please suggest here to all of us so that action could be taken.
one thing we all must do to report their website on google to list it as fraud to save other people from same scenerio

Same experience as other bellow - action needed for all being scamed

Same experience as other bellow – reservation cancelled 2 days before ( Chamonix , 22.7.2024 ) , no reaction from them about replacement, also not from Booking.com ( few calls , always same questions, promises ect .. but nothing happened , I have to make new reservation by myself ) . Placed request to Booking.com for help so they have to push on Hostenga for refoundation .. In this case ( as I read other comments ) Hostenga.com is definitely scam so Booking should be aware of that and is also responsible for let them do business still over their platform ( pattern is the same and Boking must have a lot of reclamations and requests because of same facility provider so they should protect their customers – why they have not done so ?. What legal actions can all of us being scammed do against them ? Any idea .. contact me ..

Keep away from HOSTENGA LTD. They are scammers. We booked and prepaid an apartment in Antibes through BOOKING.com and when we arrived in 22/8/2024 no-one was there to give us the keys. Contacting them via their telephone numbers was (and is) not possible (non working or fake contact info provided). They left us stranded on our holidays in August and we had to book and pay last minute for another hotel. Even BOOKING.com does not answer to our emails....

Booking.com need exposing!

Booking.com need exposing!! I have had a similar experience to all of the 140 people below, but with a slight difference; I actually tracked down the owner of the apartment in Antibes we were meant to be staying in (who owned the shop below) and they advised they had contacted Booking.com to tell them about the scam listing hosted by Hostenga some time ago. Why then, have Booking.com failed to de-list everything to do with Hostenga despite all the negative reviews against them??!! They are supposed to be a safe and trusted medium to book holiday accommodation!!

It is a complete fraud. I am determined to get everyone together to build a case against Booking.com. My partner and I turned up in Antibes on 19th August, and were effectively left stranded on the streets, if it wasn't for the kindness of the man in the Estate agent opposite the flat, putting us in contact with alternative accommodation at the very last minute. We paid 50% deposit for the stay to Hostenga totalling £250 and I believe due to Booking.com negligence, they are now responsible for reimbursing us. I am hoping to find a way to contact the CEO of Booking.com through LinkedIn (Glenn Fogel) and I would encourage you all to do the same. The more people that comment on the post, the more coverage we will get.

Awful experience

Awful experience, @ Gentiane furnished flat can't believe booking.com still allow this to be listed, paid deposit, but had no further communication, months of no answered phone calls or emails, and broken website and same for booking.com.
BEWARE BOOKING.COM WONT HELP we were told we needed to travel to get a refund despite booking.com failing to get get any correspondence. They will cancel booking and tell you to go directly to your bank

Stay away from any apartment handled by hostega.com
They cancelled our fully paid accomodation in Bordeux just 1 day before the booking without a reason and still wait for the refund. They never answer phone or emails also Booking.com not very helpful to provide assistance to me. Be carefull

This a scam do not book

They need to be reported to the police. How is booking.com allowing them to still take bookings. We are the the property and there is no response from hostenga. We are being denied a booking by cap Royale as they have not received any booking. They are obviously a scam. We will be reporting this to the authorities asap.

We messaged the hosts to arrange an arrival time between 8-9pm and this was approved. We arrived at the given address to nobody here (it stated that a rep would be here to hand over keys and show us to the flat).
We messaged them on booking.com and received no response.
We then rang all their contact help numbers to find they didn’t even ring.
After 20 minutes we knocked on a neighbours house to unfortunately discover she has had other tourists approach her house to ask the same question as we did… “do you know where this flat is?”

Starting to realise we have possibly been scammed, we decided to ring booking.com’s 24/7 hour customer helpline to which they were no help.
They told us that we they couldn’t refund us and it the hosts themselves have to refund- reading out the many other trustpilot reviews to them: ‘after 7 weeks we still haven’t been refunded’ they still didn’t want to listen.
Now being stood outside the ‘flat’ for an hour with luggage, I started to get upset as it hit me that myself, my husband and my 5 year old child were homeless for a night.

After speaking to 5 different people on the phone from booking.com we got no further. Still being told they can’t help us and we would need to pay for another hotel ourselves.

I am disgusted that they are allowed to still take bookings through booking.com and I am disgusted that some low life scammers are taking peoples money for a flat when they are looking for a holiday house to stay in.

Please don’t make the same mistake we did.

IT’S A SCAM!!!!!!!

It’s a scam! Do not book through them or booking.com. First they over charged us, which we actually go refund, but 3 days before our holiday they cancelled our stay without any reason. 7 weeks after and we still have seen the money we paid for a weeks stay in south France. Booking.com are hopeless and keep asking us to send proof and documents. Unfortunately we can read that this is not a single case with hostenga or booking.com. I even tried to write to hostenga on instagram to get our money back and there is no contact number on their webpage, but now they have block me from their account. DO NOT book through them!

fraudulent

We had a booking with this company through booking.com. Two weeks before departure, they said we needed to transfer 1 cent; otherwise, they would cancel the booking (transferring 1 cent isn't possible with a credit card, and we couldn't increase the amount to 50 cents). We didn't trust it, and since we could still cancel for free, we did so. Unfortunately, we had already paid. They don't respond to emails and don't answer the phone. We contacted booking.com, as the 30-day period for a refund had already passed. The Hostenga website is now offline. Booking.com should be ashamed of doing business with an organization that has been known to be fraudulent for some time! We thought we could trust booking.com. We reported our experience to booking.com right away, but the apartment remained available on their site for weeks afterward.

Hostenga.com scam


2 days before our arrival they cancel our booking. When we call they don't answer, they don't answer emails or chat messages... we thought the cancellation was false so we took the risk to drive from Belgium to the south of France. 3 hours before arrival we are told by booking.com that our booking has indeed been canceled, while we called booking.com just before our departure and they said that there was no problem with our booking... hostenga.com is a scam, but booking.com has certainly been able to prevent this, there have been several people before us who have been scammed this way..

SCAMMERS!!! Avoid like the plague!

Booked 3rd of July and paid 50% deposit through Booking.com and nothing heard since. Still trying to get the money back a month later with nothing from Booking or the Vendors. I wish I had seen this page before booking with them as they are clearly a scam company! Avoid like the plague and the same with Booking!
