Defunct company - with a trail of nightmare service.

I only discovered today that this company was in liquidation when I needed a correction for something incorrectly installed (according to the supplier Growatt)

The sole remaining director is Jonathan Barrett (who has directorships of eight other dissolved or liquidated companies to his name) The other directors left in April. No recent accounts.

The salesman who sold us the 13 solar panels says he is owed money by HouseChoice.

I only hope the company was signed up to the industry assurance scheme HIES when we signed our contract in November 2022. If so, it is supposed to cover any problems.

But I have my doubts and am waiting to hear…

Whole experience has been a nightmare!

Do Not Use!!

This is a classic deterioration as a company expands beyond its needs and is unable to cope with its customer's aftercare.

I think I was one of the 'lucky ones' and got the PV+storage system installed and connected before the majority of these issues have arisen.

Aftercare has been a joke, the only method that they respond to requests is if you raise an official compliant as MCS recommends, otherwise their warranty is not worth anything.

On 12 August 2024 when writing this, their website is down and looking on Companies House their account are overdue and Directors have left. None of my emails have been responded to for months now so they might have stopped trading now.

HouseChoice, if you are still trading please respond to this review.

As noted by others on this site, many of the 5 star reviews are written by 1 review contributors, with not historical imprint of reviewing customer service, so please be aware with so called 'fake' reviews with only positive experiences.

UPDATE TO MY FIRST EXPERIENCE DO NOT…

UPDATE TO MY FIRST EXPERIENCE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY .. 9 Months on from install Nov 23 still no certification still a non compliant system, whilst waiting for Housechoice to re-establish its accreditation with, MCS Membership & NAPIT Membership, I called in an independent compliance team .. on inspection it appears that the installation is none complainant and cannot be signoff until the works has been redone.. E.g. Undersized cables , incorrect cables, Inverter not fitted in the correct position, the list is never ending .. Currently this is with HIES ... HIES A rigorous accreditation process to help ensure all members are professional, reliable and trustworthy, providing consumers with peace of mind.

Very Poor Customer Service

I had 9 solar panel installed by Housechoice in March 2023. In October/November 2023 I was concerned about our inverter and batteries.

As I am hearing Impaired I emailed Housechoice to request an engineer and I was emailing for weeks get no reply.

Eventually I got a email reply from them telling me they could book a slot for May 2024 and the booking never took place.
I was emailing them for months getting no answer from renewable support. I had few emails from someone who told me twice that maybe come on certain day. Nothing was forthcoming.

On the 15th June 2024 I completed a Housechoice Customer Service Enquiry for an Annual Service and made the same request the previous week and I have had no contact whatsoever from renewable support. I never experience such terrible customer service.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

AVOID AVOID AVOID. WARNING: DON'T LET THESE FAKE REVIEWS MISDIRECT YOU. This is a SCAM company. They promised to carry out works December 2021, delayed it to June 2022, and to this day, still have not completed works after paying a huge deposit. Once they get their money, you'll never hear from them ever again. It's over 2 years and I haven't gotten a penny back, nor have they completed any works. When you try to complain or threaten to take action, they stop responding and just ignore you. I REGRET PUTTING MY TRUST IN THIS SCAM COMPANY. MAY GOD GIVE YOU GUYS WHAT YOU DESERVE...after taking hard earned monies from honest people!!!

They constantly change their company name and websites. Website we found them on is now not working. Company operated under following different names: housechoice, housechoice ltd (allium), housechoice ltd Chelmsford, then housechoice Ltd, now God knows what name they're fraudylently trading under.

Out of Service - 01245-950933

When you try to ring them the number states ' out of service' so looks like the typical model of set one business up give rubbish service and when the brown mud hits the fan, close it and set up another. Need service and support on my set up and now am stuck. Interesting how the website still lets you raise a new quote request :-(

One star is too much

One star is too much. Had 17 panels installed plus inverters of course, I thing that in its self was fine. The electrical work is of concern. Had to have a cable running from the higher loft to out side to a lower pitched roof and around the edge and into the back of the kitchen consumer unit. This was done with standard twin & earth, just tucked under the lead flashing down to the gutter along the gutter and out around the corner into the wall to the consumer box. No conduit just loose and damaged/tiles on the lower roof. I tried a number of times to get some one back but to no avail. After send photos and a couple of visits to their local site eventually got an electrician (maybe) who fitted a black plastic conduit down the roof and along the gutter. Looks very very amateurish. To get the tiles replaced I had make another visit, then they had another name on the same site. I really can NOT recommend them.

Just seen this on trust pilot so all a bit late for a lot of people. 15 feb 2011 Expect it will get remover
