Final installation of combi boiler
John came out to complete the conversion and installation of a combi boiler today. He worked efficiently and patiently, was amiable and polite, kept me informed of his progress at all times, was ready to answer questions and checked that I was happy with everything before leaving. I feel confident with the installation.
Avoid like the plague
I received a quote and was asked to send photographs in. I paid £550 upfront. The guy turned up to fit the boiler. They cut a big hole in the bottom of my brand new kitchen as the boiler was too big. So they said. I returned home to find the boiler hanging out the bottom of the cupboard. They decided to blame my deaf friend who is recovering from cancer for the hole in the cupboard. They never contacted me who was the contractor to explain this. The best is yet to come. It turns out the boiler wasn’t too big for the cupboard after all so I agreed for the engineer to come out and lift the boiler up into its correct position. Another engineer came out to move the boiler up. When I checked over it they had damaged the flue outside. It’s smashed into bits. They’ve damaged the bricks on the external wall and filled it in with cement.
The engineer then refused to leave my house till they got payment. Which I refused. Told him he either walk out or be dragged out. I raised a complaint with trading standards and they told me to ask for a reduced price based on the damage done to the property. They couldn’t afford to give me a reduced price. So I spoke with trading standards who informed me I could pay for what work they did minus the damage. Therefore I paid £1500 after being told my paperwork and warranty would be sent out. I refused to pay the remaining £500 based on the price to fix the damage. Which was £390 for the cupboard before installation and I am waiting on British Gas to check the damage to the flue.
They are refusing to honour the warranty which was quoted for 12 years. The paperwork sent out was 2 year warranty but they were not honouring that due to me not paying the remaining balance.
They have now taking CCJ out for the remaining balance.
I have raised a dispute with the bank as well as trading standards.
I wish I would have paid the extra couple of hundred and gone with a better company.
Now I have found out the engineer they sent out isn’t registered and the engineering manager is falsely signing off jobs on his behalf. Left me no choice but to report it to the gas safety regulators.
Update: The company tried to get my review removed from trustpilot saying it wasn't a legitimate review. This was sorted once I sent them a copy of my invoice and the video, they uploaded on to their social media of the engineer installing the boiler. A video they recorded and uploaded without my consent.
UPDATE: Just had a visit from an engineer from gas safety register who found 5 faults not to the required standard. One being the flue and the other no CO alarm. Still no contact from Hydrus apart from telling me to not buy products I can't pay for. The cheek

boiler after care
boiler went in no problems. however 7months down theroad we have e problems. and despite numerous calls. we are being ignored. we were told this team it was. a manufactures issue and we had to contact them which we dod. glow worm duly came oy. and. pointed out the issue was. because of poor instillation of the fluand if left. could. and probably would cause carbon monied poisoning in the house. the glow worm engineer was kind enough o explain this to hydras. who eventually sent out. their own engineer who turned up with no idea what he was doing to parts he himself contacted hydrus. 3 days later wa are non the wiser. and hydryus are just ignoring the phone calls.over to you people I wil put your name in lights. before I give up. sort the problem very very soon 7month old boilers shouldn't be leaking. you you have our number call straight awayl or are you waiting for the monoxide to killl someone. first before you do somthing

A courteous, professional and helpful team
Wishing to replace our old boiler before it died I got loads of quotes and chose Hydrus. Jason had been thorough in checking what was needed and John and Che were professional, even artistic, in getting the new kit in quite a confined space.
