Avoid putting money into II accounts if you may need quick access to your funds.
I had funds in my II trading account that I wanted to withdraw. After speaking with the II support team, I was told that I had funds available to withdraw, but the withdrawal was blocked.
This was a very frustrating experience. Based on what happened to me, I would advise anyone considering depositing money into an II account to be cautious, as you may encounter difficulties withdrawing your funds.

I have been trying to transfer a Sipp from Evelyn Partners to ii for the past 5 months. In late June one of the two investments in the fund was transferred across by Evelyn Partners. However it has still not arrived in my ii account. My wife has had a similar experience where an investment was transferred across a month ago and it has still not arrived in her account. However, neither investment is visible or accessible in my Evelyn Partners account. The investments have effectively disappeared and cannot be accessed or traded. Collectively they amount to over £1 million in value. The fund is a very large well-known Vanguard fund, not some esoteric investment.
I have emailed and called ii numerous times. I keep being told different things - its because ii has changed custodian, they are waiting for a third party to sign a form etc. No-one is taking ownership and I have no timescale for resolution. In desperation I emailed the CEO but he just ignored my email.
In short, terrible service which has caused my wife and me a high level of anxiety.
Just a warning for anybody else thinking of tranferring over to ii.

Despite II's best efforts to cause me the most aggravation possible ... closing an account I didn't authorise to, telling me I could access it for 6 weeks when in fact they locked me out etc ... I've had great service today from Naeema Patel. Took 1.5hrs to get a suitable resolution but she has been amazing to find a way through this mess, created by others and II systems. Thank you.

Muhammad K. was one of the politest and helpful customer service reps I have had the rare pleasure of dealing with. He solved my issue immediately with great professionalism and timeliness, far better than other similar investment platforms.

Really poor experiences in general with ii. They hide quite major conditions on getting certain benefits of their accounts in their small print with zero indication that there are conditions attached to those benefits that you’re paying for. After calling up and discussing I was basically fobbed off by the person on the phone. They emailed me a day later offering a resolution only to basically ghost me afterwards without actually doing it.
Avoid. Customer service is terrible here and they actively go out of their way to hide important information from customers.
Edit after their response: they still don’t get in touch. Joke of a company. Avoid.

Being an elderly novice investor I was nervous about moving my stocks and shares isa to a lower cost platform.
Wish I had done this much sooner now.
Website and app are relatively easy to set up and navigate. I have spoken on the phone to the help line and also sent a secure message within the app. Both have been handled exceptionally well. Helpful, clear understandable responses making changes very comfortable and straightforward.
A brilliant start to what should be a lower cost to running my isa, building up it's value quicker without unnecessary high charges.
A 5 stars from me.

First interaction with ii (Vanessa) as I look to transfer my pension in to their SIPP. All questions comprehensively answered, it was a pleasure speaking with them, a really positive start to working with them and gives me confidence that I have a provider who takes customer service seriously.

I am writing to raise a complaint regarding the foreign exchange charge applied to a recent ETF trade that I executed in US dollars.
At the point of placing the trade, I was informed that the transaction would be converted from US dollars to pounds. However, I was not presented with any clear warning that this conversion would incur a foreign exchange charge of 0.75%, nor was the actual cost of this charge disclosed before I confirmed the transaction.
A 0.75% foreign exchange charge is a significant cost and one that could materially affect an investment decision. Had this fee been made clear before I executed the trade, I would have been able to make an informed choice, such as considering alternative ways to fund the transaction or whether to proceed at all.
I believe that charges of this nature should be presented clearly and prominently before a customer commits to a trade, rather than simply indicating that a currency conversion will take place. In my view, the lack of transparency prevented me from fully understanding the total cost of the transaction. Btw, some UK brokers now only charge around 0.15.
You really need to get these rates down IMHO.

Addie helped to work around an issue with the SIPP transfer document process ( The site would not allow me to progress, but would not show what items were incorrect or missing) Addie kindly provided the pdt to allow the process to move forward.
