My husband and I drove an hour to get to Milton Keynes IKEA today to go get some Christmas gifts. It was the biggest let down of the whole season, the shop was not decorated, there is no Christmas spirit, we left and went elsewhere to shop. You would think that a swedish company would promote Christmas and with the right vibe in store they would sell tons more. Clearly they dont need the business. So sad to see such a big franchise with hardly any Christmas spirit. Humbug... :)

No customer service. They did not mount the wardrobe even if I paid for that, 50% of the kitchen was mounted only even if I paid for the measurements and checks. Still waiting for customer service feedback. You pay a lot for very low quality. Definitely not recommended.

Terrible customer service we ordered a dressing table to be collected from Tescos we had a 2 hour time slot had 3 emails saying the truck will leave at 10:00am if not collected at 9:00am I arrived to the truck gave my order number & name he said good let me get it for you for it then to not be on truck said it would be sent by home delivery tomorrow time slot 7-7 got to 3pm again we contacted customer service who then said it might not be delivered which it hasn’t I asked to make a complaint and Katie from customer service advised she cannot put me through to a manager and can take my complaint details but I won’t get a call back so what’s the point ? I then got told it’s now the following day it will be delivered when we’re at work still no communication from Ikea still I don’t know when it’s arriving customer service very unhelpful

New Norwich Store. Placed order for £200 of Storage cupboards with estimated delivery date to store for collection. Couldn't place order online for Click n Collect like most other companies had to attend Store and place order with staff and then pay £2 fee for privedge or a £30 delivery charge. This new Norwich Store is disorganized the staff are unapproachable and unfriendly and don't look happy. Having placed order received harassing emails day before delivery date stating goods were ready and had to be collected by deadline the following day. No 7 day or 14 day collection window like other companies.
To add insult to injury my 60 yr old Wife attended Store goods were loaded onto trolley.She politely asked if a member of staff could help her load the heavy boxes into the back of our vehicle. She was flatly refused that this was against Store Policy by a bearded burly 6ft male member of staff who said she could ask a security guard they might be able to help as they didn't come under same terms and conditions. Worst Retail Experience Ever. Will not be returning to Store or placing any future orders. Having looked at Ikea Customer feedback this is clearly the norm. You don't deserve the business other companies do it so much better....

Ikea kitchens- DO NOT FALL FOR IT! 9.000£ spent and we are on 7th week of the kitchen which ment to be done in 7 days! Design team in Sheffield branch really good nothing to complain about however kitchen team which now apparently is moved out of stores to one location shocking! They told us kitchen we choose is being discontinued so we will have issues with sustaining all the parts so we redesign all and choose different product. Take a guess... we are still waiting for missing cubets and it's 7 weeks since first delivery! They sent wrong oven £200 cheaper than the one we've paid for! Kitchen counter came damaged 4 times this delayed whole project by weeks again! We still waiting by the way... as simple thing as handles where missing back ordered! Kitchen fitting team coming whenever they want but not when scheduled! There's no complain team I've tried trust me! I've been told they do not monitor their emails which is a absolute joke! If you are ringing kitchen team (because that's what they will direct you to do) you on hold for 40 min and they still can't help you! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING WE ARE STARTING PROCEDURES WITH TRADING STANDARDS AS NO OTHER ROADS TO TAKE, DO NOT TRUST THEM! DO NOT BUY FROM IKEA! And merry Christmas to us from IKEA without kitchen!

My complaint is IKEA delivery service and mismanagement
I was woken by shouts and arguments to another member of public "am going to kill you" then his co worker said he's not worth it ! Dispute over IKEA blocking the road not too pleased after been woken up by this argument.
I complained at local Ikea store they were not interested i emailed thire complaints department they said email the transport section...sorrys and here's a voucher £30 ..of course it never came

I’ve spoken with four different kitchen designers and not one understood our requirements. Service from the supplier and the templaters has been poor throughout, they even removed our breakfast bar without any consultation.
I’ve spent about two full days on hold in total and been hung up on multiple times. I’ve dealt with roughly ten customer service reps; each spends ~20 minutes reading notes and then says they’ve “sent an email to the supplier,” and nothing changes - no updates, nothing,
We still don’t have a properly finished kitchen, the worktop is chipped/poorly fitted, and the promised re-templating hasn’t been actioned.
Avoid this company. For your sanity, go to Howdens.

I’d like to give a huge thank-you to Christina at IKEA Cardiff. I came in 20 minutes before closing time on a Monday! Her kindness and patience honestly made a big difference. She went above and beyond to help me sort out an issue and took the time to make sure everything was right before I left. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely cares about helping customers, but Christina really did. She turned what could’ve been a frustrating experience into a really positive one — a true credit to IKEA.

Me and my partner went to collect our dining chairs and table from the store in Milton Keynes close to their finishing time due to my partner finishing work and the travel there, as soon as we walked in we spoke to a member of staff as we knew what we wanted we just wanted to collect rather than walk around the store, he helped us out massively went through the screen with us and shown us where to go as we had to go straight to the tills as our item was in the other warehouse, when paying we were greeted by another polite employee who gave us directions to the warehouse along with a map and the post code. We then got to the warehouse and the employee there “Stephen” was very polite and helpful and ensured our item was picked and brought out to him considerably quick as we were told 20 mins at the main store but Stephen definitely beat that.
Considering it was close to their finishing times the staff we did meet all were very helpful and welcoming, I could not fault the customer service.
We also recommend the family card as we received a £50 discount on our purchase!
Once we built the product the quality is amazing and easy to follow instructions, very very happy with our experience.
Their food is always amazing! We usually have their food on previous visits but didn’t have time this visit due to it being late we knew they’d be closed.

I returned a product that was part of my kitchen project, which was paid for through financing. It has now been three months, and IKEA has still not processed the adjustment to close my original financing plan and open a new one reflecting the €600 refund for the returned product. The communication from IKEA has been extremely poor and inconsistent throughout these three months and it is still not copmleted.

I purchased a Koppang Chest of drawers last week. The chemical smell of the plywood on the back and bottom of drawers is still odourous after 7 days. Its so bad I cannot even sleep in the room with the chest of drawers.
Update
I contacted Customer Service who would not escalate the matter even though it was a Health and Safety matter. Materials on Koppang are poor quality and have chemicals/strong odour causing an allergic reaction.
Ikea should be doing better quality control on their items and not be selling odourous furniture.
Koppang chest of drawers has had chemical smell from plywood for over 2 weeks. Chemical smell of Koppang was so bad it gave me an allergic reaction in my head, nose, ears and throat.
Koppang is not fit for purpose as you cannot use item.
I was told by Ikea that I would be able to return or replace but I would have to take the item apart and if I chose exchange I would have to rebuild. This is disgraceful as I already spent time building the item and the fault is with Ikea as items are not fit for purpose.
I purchased Koppang chest of drawers 4 years ago and the back and bottom of drawers were covered with the plastic on the rest of the unit. Ikea made a decision to give customers cheaper materials to the detriment of their customers.
Very poor quality which triggering an allergic reaction in my head, throat and ears due to chemical odour of chest of drawers.
Please sell furniture fit for purpose as stated in Consumer Goods Act.
I will be reporting this to Health and Safety at the local authority.

Went into new Ikea in Chester on second day of opening and needed to return done kitchen door hinges and enquire about correct ones for an old kitchen. It was super busy and didn’t expect that the staff would know the answer to my question (wrongly assuming they wouldn’t have a clue due to store being brand new). I was wrong and eat humble pie. I can’t remember the ladies name but she clearly knew what she was talking about and gave me some great advice about how to solve my problem. Thank you

My delivery window was between 13:30 and 17:30, the driver arrived at 18:25 and didn't apologise before dropping of 4 out of the 5 boxes I ordered, advising me that it wasn't his fault then leaving saying that "the warehouse will know what to do"

Honestly, the worst experience I had in my life.
I would not recommend purchasing anything from IKEA that requires accountability and responsibility - they have none of it. IKEA might be cheap - but you get low quality, and the followups will cost you even more - so it's not that cheap in the end.
Their customer support is useless and untrained. Their accountability for their faults is negative (we spent 3 months, and over 30 calls in order to repair the stove). We could not make food for three months because they did not install the kitchen correctly, and they have not even agreed to compensate us.

Used to love I could get Scandinavian stuff from my childhood from IKEA. Traditional foods and Christmas iteams. Wide range of candles. But it's lost it's Scandinavian roots and feel. Will stop going now.

Hi, we ordered a kitchen from Ikea Italy for our new home. Since we needed it urgently, we had to choose the HANSBYN worktop finishing strip material that was in stock, not our first choice. The kitchen was installed in May 2025 and, when excluding our summer holiday, has only been used for about 1.5–2 months. By August, the HANSBYN skirting already showed black stains, which started behind the sink and are now spreading even towards the side without the sink. We contacted Ikea customer service, sent the requested photos and videos, but by October there is still no reply or solution. It’s a kitchen countertop and contact with water is inevitable. My concern is that the same material is used for the countertop itself, and the rot could spread further. I strongly advise future buyers to avoid the HANSBYN material. Ikea customer service, if you are reading this, please address this issue urgently before it worsens please. (Order no: 1515186826)
