Very disappointed
Very disappointed. My last 2 click and collect orders have not been sent. No emails to advise, nothing. When I phone I am told they are out of stock. They weren’t when I ordered and then why did I not receive an email to tell me!
Ikea used to be so good but sadly not so now. Really puts me off ordering.

Systematic violation of customer property rights - IKEA sells paid items to others
I am writing this to warn others about IKEA's unacceptable business practice of selling items that have already been purchased and paid for.
In my case, I bought a full desk, but IKEA sold the tabletop, which was legally my property, to another customer because they failed to pack it for my delivery on time.
I was left with only the underframe, making the product completely useless.
This is not an isolated incident. IKEA did the exact same thing to my sister's family, selling a desk they had already paid for, right as their child was starting first grade.
It seems IKEA has a systematic practice of selling customer-owned property to walk-in customers because their warehouse synchronization is nonexistent.
After admitting the fault in my case, IKEA had the audacity to offer a ridiculous compensation of 1,000 RSD (less than 9 EUR) for the massive logistical nightmare and breach of contract they caused.
This is an insult to any customer's intelligence and time.
I have demanded a fair compensation for the damages and logistical costs to resolve this, as I now have to engage third parties to fix their mess.
After IKEA comment bellow I provided Order and Compliant numbers through Trustpilot form.
Update 23.01.2025:
Just minutes ago, they delivered the partial order. To make things even worse, the DRÖNJÖNS waste paper basket arrived completely unprotected (no packaging), deformed, and with scratched paint all over it. This confirms a total lack of care for customer property and zero quality control.
Update 28.01.2026:
The order was placed on ikea.com and fulfilled by IKEA Serbia.
A language or regional path (e.g. /it/it) does not represent a separate website or entity for the customer.
The complaint is officially opened and reference number and the order number has already been provided through Trustpilot’s verification form.

A truly dreadful experience
What a truly dreadful experience. Such a shame. I ordered multiple storage containers. They couldn't be delivered to my home address for some reason. So I had to request delivery to a storage location some distance from me as Ikea the store is triple that distance from me. The delivery email said it would be from 10 to 12pm in a weeks time. Turns out I had to actually BE there and pick up from a vehicle. I've never heard of such a way of pickup.
The driver on the phone was friendly, said it happened many times but that he had to leave as I would be 5 minutes past the slot if I rushed over immediately. But he also explained that the delivery would likely be back the next day as he'd told ikea of the issue.
Within 1 minute of the call I received notification my order was cancelled and that I'd get a refund!!
I tried to resolve the situation online but there were no contact methods. So I requested a new order of the same items. However half the items were then not available!
Such a frustrating and stupid way to do business. Why on earth couldn't I simply reschedule! After all I was paying for delivery both times. I'm not impressed at all. What an unprofessional, obtuse way to do delivery.

Unnecessary journey, incorrect information, and dismissive customer service
I’ve been a regular IKEA customer for years, but this experience has been extremely disappointing.
In early January I placed a Click & Collect order at the Lakeside branch after IKEA confirmed the items were ready for collection. This was the only reason I travelled there instead of my local store.
When I arrived, the items were not there. The receipt even had a handwritten note saying they were out of stock.
This meant I made a completely unnecessary journey, including crossing the Dartford Tunnel, costing me money and time – all due to incorrect information provided by IKEA.
I contacted customer services by phone (30+ minute wait) and live chat (45+ minute wait). I was initially told the toll costs would be refunded, but this never happened.
Instead, IKEA later offered a £10 e-voucher as a “goodwill gesture” (not cash), and stated they do not compensate travel costs. When I declined, they warned the voucher could be withdrawn.
At no point did anyone properly acknowledge that the journey happened because IKEA’s system said the order was ready when it wasn’t.
Mistakes happen – but the handling of this was poor:
Incorrect stock information
Wasted journey
Long waits to speak to anyone
Broken promises
Dismissive tone when raising a formal complaint
I expected far better from a company of this size.

IKEA customer services are terrible
Always a very bad experience with returns. IKEA customer services, specifically returns are very difficult to deal with. Anytime i have to return an item the returns team pore over said item looking for some excuse to deny the return. It has happened in the past and it happened this time too.
They get really nitpicky and find the smallest thing to deny a return on. I suspect they are given colleague points on how many returns they can deny.
I was considering getting our new kitchen from there, but if IKEA customer services are so bad with small stuff I can only imagine what they must be like when trying to get them to correct a big mistake.

Shocking customer service
When company is posting the address of CDRL at the bottom of their website- it's never good! AVOID AT ALL COSTS OR YOU WILL LOOSE MONEY AND TIME
I have received someone else's order. Wrote to them they promised to deliver mine. Almost a month's gone, no response to my emails or even official chat. I should go to trust pilot before I ordered from them to read about these fraudulent company. I'm going to CDRL as soon as I can.

Delivery Error That Made My Home Unlivable
I came to review and here its all bad bad experience which make me wonder does Ikea do anything good at all for the price they charge for delivery and all, Customers please be aware of the money you pay to them extra falling for their executive's words. My experience is as horrible as rest of the people.Paid extra for room delivery and took time off based on a confirmed delivery date. What arrived was almost entirely the wrong order, with some damaged items, and the incorrect furniture was assembled inside a very small apartment, making it uninhabitable.
No bed, no usable space, and additional costs incurred due to cancelled assembly and temporary accommodation. Customer service failed to provide a clear explanation, timeline, or effective resolution, and even suggested removing the incorrect items myself.
This was not a minor inconvenience but a complete breakdown in delivery, accountability, and customer care. Extremely disappointing experience. Will update as and when I get a feedback/resolution
Just wanted to update my readers that :Don’t believe what the customer care writes here thinking they are concerned, they don’t do anything other than making you call/email them multiple times and doesn’t even reimburse either for the time loss/delivery charges/missing items

Not hygenic for food
My review today is about Ikea on Via Anagnina in Rome, Italy. I don't know if all the locations in Rome are like this, but probably.
Where they serve fast food (hot dogs, etc.), the employees don't use gloves when preparing and serving food.
I find this unacceptable and completely unhygienic!

Could not fault this service
Ordered on Friday and delivered the very next day, exactly as requested, despite poor weather conditions. I received an initial delivery time slot, which was then narrowed down closer to delivery — great communication throughout.
The driver called ahead and, despite the weather, was cheerful and friendly. He carried both boxes into my hallway without being asked. They looked light, but when I tried lifting one after he left, I could barely manage it — so I really appreciated the extra help!
A genuinely nice person and excellent service all round. I honestly can’t fault anything. Great job — thank you to IKEA and the driver. My fiancée will be very happy.

Couldn't Attend Chemo With Wife Due To IKEA's Incompetence
I contacted IKEA customer service today to double check that the collection (2nd time booked) of a faulty KIVIK sofa was going to take place today and was told that this collection WASN'T going to take place as ARCT 'hadn't received the paperwork'. This was despite receiving confirmation of the collection by text and via my IKEA account and phoning Customer Service yesterday and being told the collection would definitely go ahead. I have now been forced to book a THIRD collection slot for Saturday 03/01/2026 and my wife has had to go to her chemotherapy session alone today as we assumed the collection was taking place today and of course someone had to be here for the collection team. I asked the customer service representative what I should do if the 3rd collection failed and unbelievably they said 'just write it off'. By that I assume they meant that I should just give up and accept the financial loss of £610, which is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. I asked if IKEA had a complaints procedure and was told they have a 'feedback form on the website and comments are read'. IKEA are not co-operating in collecting faulty goods for return and refund despite my best efforts to arrange collection by them. Absolutely abysmal company - avoid like the plague!

Delivery never comes twice!!!
I ordered my furniture 20 days ago and I never received them. No calls no mail nothg I spend the day waiting and at the end of the day I call Ikea, all they can do was go set another delivery day in a week. The exact same thing happens!! It's Saturday so they tell me that I have to call back on Monday.
As a result I spent two days at home waiting for nothg. Ikea has no respect for their customers and keep working with a logistic company well known for being the absolute worst and most unprofessional.
Ikea's customer service is also completely useless not friendly and again unprofessional.
Thanks for ruining Christmas and soon new years for me as I needed that furniture.

Rude and unhelpful staff bickering over £50
I arrived at IKEA Gateshead to return and induction hob which was 4 months old at most. The staff member was unable to find the product on the family account due to a clerical error on their part and refused to take it from my partner. I then arrived and asked the manager to see what she could do. The manager then proceeded to be incredibly unhelpful, refusing to budge from the policy despite the thousand of pounds I have spent on the very IKEA card being searched. Had the individual at the till not re-searched and found the item again, the manager at IKEA Gateshead would have lost a long time customer to IKEA over a £50 appliance.
So disappointed as I have shopped here for years and had nothing but joy when interacting with the staff and products
