Absolute nightmare. I ordered three wall panels, the delivery was a month away. I hired a person for the works to be carried out and then got an email with notexplanation that my delivery is pushed back by another month. Before the day I was given a timeslot but guess what, no tracking link was sent on the day, no delivery was made, after waiting, and absolutely no communication was shared. I spoke to three people in customer services, had to go through security through each of them. Two of them hanged up on me and then the final one read out a note that one of the three wall panels could not be found. No apology was offered and no goodwill offer was made. Again, I have to rearrange the date with the builder. I had similar nightmare with another old order, complaining about the quality of the worktop they delivered. And here is another thing. No point leaving negative review of the product cause they won't publish it - I will be complaining to the relevant retail watchdog about this. IKEA - if you a reading - I will demanding the correspondence address of your directors and making a formal complaint and then taking you to small claims court for a full refund of the panels, wether I get it or not. I spent half a day of a weekend waiting for order, even though it was never going to happen. Order No 1511917599. The previous worktop order number was 1512228263, which was also a nightmare and we regret accepting a stingy settlement.
I am also not calling customer services again because it's an absolute waste of my time. I demand IKEA provide me with an email address for all communications. If I don't get it in the next two days, I will look up the address of your directors on companies house and will be dealing with them directly.

Further to my wife's review following a awful delivery experience and complete lack of empathy or help from customer service.
Having read the reply allegedly from IKEA. It's obvious the apathy and lack of customer service and buck passing culture is a company policy.
CAROLINE DID RING THE UK CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AND ALL THEY SUGGESTED WAS TO CONTACT THE DELIVERY COMPANY DIRECT WHICH WE REFUSE TO DO AS WE ORDERED AND PAID IKEA FOR THE FURNITURE AND DELIVERY.
JUST UNACCEPTABLE ON SO MANY LEVELS

Disappointing Delivery and Poor Customer Support
I had a very disappointing experience with my IKEA delivery this morning. The delivery drivers were disinterested and made no effort to communicate clearly. I asked to check that my order was correct before they left, especially as the boxes were large and stacked in a way that made inspection difficult. Despite this, they ignored my request and left without giving me the chance to verify anything.
I then spent over nine minutes waiting to speak to IKEA Customer Care, only to be connected with an unhelpful representative who simply advised me to email the delivery company directly. I found this response unsatisfactory—after all, IKEA employs the delivery service, not me, and in my view, the drivers were representing IKEA.
Very disappointed with both the delivery experience and the lack of accountability from customer service. I requested to speak to a supervisor. This was denied.

I'm surprised their rating is so low? Millions of people have their products in their houses and they/we keep going back for more.
We've never had a problem. Not in the last 10+ years anyway. We've just had to replace some bits after a flood and I had no hesitation in buying the same items.
Instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Delivery was as indicated. No problems.

Absolutely appalling , ordered several items including glass wear . Order was not packed. Not even capable of butting 8 door handles in a bag together . Sent to shipper as I live in the Caribbean . Shipper . Courier tried to delver 3 times delivering loose items , they did not REPORT back to ikea , instead tried to rediliver. Stupidity and ignorance right across the organisation

Disappointed with IKEA Jebel Ali’s After-Sales Service – Especially for Mattress Exchange
I am extremely disappointed with the poor after-sales service provided by IKEA Jebel Ali. I purchased a mattress from them around a month ago, but it turned out to be much softer than expected and began causing me back pain within just a couple of days of use.
I immediately contacted their customer service, and to my surprise, they advised me to “use it for some time” before requesting an exchange—even though I was already uncomfortable. Trusting their process, I waited and officially raised the exchange request on 1st June, well within their 3-month exchange policy.
I was told I’d receive a callback within 24 to 48 hours. Despite following up multiple times, I received a response only on 5th June—four days later—telling me that delivery of the replacement mattress would take another 3 days.
This kind of delay, especially for a product that affects health and comfort, is unacceptable. It is clear that IKEA prioritizes new orders over existing customers once the payment is made. They’ve shown no urgency in handling my case, even though I clearly communicated that I was in pain and urgently needed the replacement.
IKEA’s reputation is built on quality and customer experience, but my experience has been anything but that. A simple exchange has turned into a long, frustrating process—one that has made me rethink trusting IKEA for any future purchases, especially large or health-impacting items.
I hope IKEA seriously reconsiders how they handle post-sales customer care and understands that their responsibilities don’t end at the sale.
Customer care is just as important as the product itself.

We visited Ikea at Gitbrook on Sunday 1st June 2025 and purchased 2 vases with decorative artificial flowers we arrived at the checkout to be told they were the display ones after a conversation with the checkout lady Bianca she let us purchase the display model.
We would like to give Bianca a 5 star rating as she was rather benevolent. Well done Bianca for great customer service.

Ordered some items as a gift, got a confirmation for a delivery on 25th.
Got an email from courier confirming delivery, then a 2nd email 10 minutes later stating that contact name was not recognised and the parcel never appeared.
Tried to contact dpd courier and ikea to find out what was happening but not able to get through.
Got an email today from ikea saying that a refund had been issued, no reason given.
I now have a wife in tears as we hit the shops looking for a replacement gift.
It is no wonder ikea is in trouble, if this is how they treat their customers.
We won't be using them again
EDIT - Tried to call their customer services as they asked - over 20 minute wait !!

I was usually quite happy with Ikea's products and their service. Although last time was really quite something. Due to severe back pain problems I had to return my chair which was in excellent condition. They have a return policy with quite a big time to return it - however, I felt a little uncomfortable despite the chair being in perfect state so I contacted their customer service and explained the situation. A return would be approved, the reason was valid. I made sure they repeated it because I had to get someone to help. This person had to drive 1,5h for this and then another hour to and from ikea here. So a total of 4h drive. In the store, the return was declined. I asked for a manager because their customer service told me otherwise and they couldn't give me an exact reason (other than the woman seemed to have a shitty day and was quite annoyed) - he also didn't take any responsibility for it and his face turned red. I hope it was deep shame. I again contacted the customer service after, who again... confirmed the return would be valid, would not be declined in the store and the state the chair was in was perfect for them. My friend who had the chair decided to try in a different store who accepted the return without a comment. You should be ashamed for not only not taking your responsibility, but also deliberately making this return difficult for a person who had a valid medical return, to have to return the chair. I needed a specific chair to support my back better. This experience will definitely leave it's smear and I will think better next time if I will purchase at Ikea again. Seriously, from customer service to customer service - shame on you.

Some months ago I purchased a few pairs of the light and easily washable house slippers.
If you look at the IKEA house slipper you will notice that it pushes in the baby toe and the fourth toe in just a slight bit. That disrespect for the shape of the human foot is indicative of the kind of rampant shoemaking companies in the world today that damage the human foot. There are not enough manufacturers that serve Canada that care about the human foot, and how it can develop things like bent toes and very painful corns, due to this kind of customer neglect. While the IKEA house slipper may not be at the root of Canadian foot problems, their slipper identifies the Canadian foot as ALREADY DEFORMED. Well guess what - I managed to cure my own feet and correct the broken toes through a long treatment process, so when I see the IKEA HOUSE SLIPPER it's a giant red flag of indifference that I see.

Love the products, but whoever is in charge of labeling needs to be fired! Every item of kitchenware, furniture wood, glass tops, etc have ticketing labels on which are indestructible! 3 weeks in and I'm still removing glue residue from cups and plates. It's completely unnecessary.

(Update: IKEA got in touch and provided vouchers for the amount to be reimbursed. I appreciate it!) I bought something that was supposed to be received from a point of collection, and only half of the items were shipped, so I canceled the order (aggreeing with IKEA that I will receive a refund). After 4 different chats (and opened cases) with the customer service, and being told the reimbursement will be made in a few days, after one whole year, still no refund. And no hope remains.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF ONLINE SHOPPING EVER,
I went and designed my room on Ikea’s room designer I bought a bed and many other items and it looked fine (I paid a ridiculous amount) until it arrived.
I checked everything was here until I started building the bed I was 3/4 of the way done and then I realised where and the bloody bed slats I called the customer service and they just said “Im sorry you didn’t buy the slats” I said that it was clearly there on the image and it completely mislead me and on top of that I was due to come the following week Tuesday.I had guests coming over to stay the day the bed arrived they were going to sleep on it and on TOP OF THAT they didn’t even offer a discount.

DO NOT PURCHASE KITCHENS. Installation quality is appalling, 6 weeks after installation started and it is still not finished. 2 weeks of phone calls to get it sorted, over 6 hours on hold to the call centre and still no resolution. Do not put yourself through it.
