I booked a flight from Japan to London with kayak who themselves then book with another third party.

Spent 2 hours trying to get my ticket number to be told I didn’t have a ticket at all

An example of this is that they make it impossible to "unsubscribe" from their pernicious adverts.

No wonder that the company refuses to answer its reviews on this site. Over 30% of their reviews are 1 or 2 star.

DO NOT TRUST Kayak.com. This people allow fraudulent people to post airfare deals that are not true. That just happened to me. I have a trip to Colombia in Sept and received an email this webpage "Cheapflights" canceling my trip to due increase in price. I am trying to contact them for a refund and nobody answers. PLEASE, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. Go with a trusted webpage or go directly to the airline. I just lost $1,000. DO NOT KAYAK.COM

The challenge was to book 3 tickets overseas for the 3 if us, i tried to it online and it was a nightmare. I called and spoke with Sven who was very patient and understanding. He gave me several options with good deals. I would recommend him for booking because he is knowledgeable with strong work ethics. Thanks, merci, gracias

What you see is not always what you get. I booked a car via Kayak but the car rental didn't have that car and forced an upgrade on me. Naturally Kayak was unable to help, since they are not renting out cars, they just find the best prices. But it's not the best prices if the car rentals they send you to then don't have the car you booked via Kayak. What a mess.

Absolutely disgrace this website. They put me onto a scam merchant, who tried to get extra money off me after I'd booked online. Thought Kayak was safe and trusted. Never again.

Kayak isn’t a travel tool - it’s a trapdoor into the worst corners of the internet. I booked a £1,186 flight through them and was rerouted to Easemytrip - a company so shady it makes Fyre Festival look like a well-organised weekend getaway.

What did I get for my money? A fake e-ticket, no confirmed seat, no issued ticket numbers, and a website that locks you out with a broken OTP system. Support? Non-existent. They ghosted my emails, dropped my calls, and then had the audacity to lie and say the price I booked at wasn’t available anymore - while I was staring at that same price live on their own site.

And where’s Kayak in all this? Nowhere. They wash their hands like Pilate and say, “Oh, we’re just a search engine.” No. You sent me there. You profit from these reroutes. You enabled this scam.

If you let a predator into your house and it bites someone, you’re responsible. Kayak is knowingly partnering with garbage-tier operators like Easemytrip to squeeze affiliate revenue out of unsuspecting customers. This isn’t negligence - it’s complicity.

You’ve lost all trust. I’ll never use Kayak again, and I’ll go out of my way to tell others to stay far, far away. You’re not a travel brand. You’re a middleman for fraud.

This booking company should be avoided at all costs .I book a long haul flight with them and it was cancelled 4 hours before the flight causing significant inconvenience.Kayak does not make it very clear to customers that it passes on your information to third party agents who could be scammers .In my case the travel company tried to get me to pay double the ticket price a few hours before the flight that is infact extortion and I hold Kayak vicariously liable and will be suing them .

Be very careful NOT to use this car hire company.
I have now been waiting 5 months for them to return my 2000 dirham deposit. All they do is make excuses.
I have had to report them to the online portal that I booked through and start a legal case.

I have been using your booking platform for years and have been a happy customer. Recently I have been redirect to one of your partners, edreams and have had a very unpleasant experience:

Upon being redirected to Edreams website via Kayak, I was offered a discount on a flight, if I signed up for a free trial of the eDreams Prime membership. Based on this offer, I proceeded under the assumption that no charges would be made unless I missed unsubscribing before the end of the free trial. more than 24 hours after completing and paying for my booking, I received an email informing me that I would be charged 110 dollars for a Prime membership because I had allegedly already used a free trial several years ago.

At no point during the booking process was I clearly made aware of the fact that:
- The free trial is only available once per customer.
- I was ineligible for the trial and would be automatically charged.
- There was a 110 dollars tied to this action.

Not only is this information hidden in the T&Cs unethical but I also believe that this practise potentially violates local consumer protection and contract law.

After researching EDreams on Google, I have come across hundreds of reviews of people who have faced similar scam-like practices by this highly unethical company. I am extremely disappointed that a company like Kayak would partner with such a supplier - considering all of the negative feedback and hundreds of customers who have clearly been ripped off.

I strongly hope that you will reconsider this partnership at some point as I believe it will negatively reflect on you in the future. I personally won’t be booking via kayak and its partners anymore.

I went on KAYAK site and booked a flight to Nee Zealand with one of their partners Check N Fly. I was sold a ticket to fly from Stansted. Approx 2 hours later I received a call saying they couldn’t do from that airport. I immediately told them I wouldn’t consider flying from anywhere else and please refund my money, that refund took over a week. I felt well and truly scammed. My advise is do not book through this untrustworthy site.
