Disappointed.

I accidentally clicked and bought a cabin bag instead of a checked bag for my flight. I asked Kayak if I could upgrade to a checked bag and pay the difference. They told me no, I had to buy and additional checked bag on top of my cabin bag. I spoke to the airline directly who informed me this was not the case. I am a little disappointment Kayak was trying to charge me more money.

Top of that my dad who is flying with us is hearing impaired. I asked if him and my mom could be sat together on our flight, so she could help him. Which they said they would have to charge me for this. I am very disappointed in their ability to help their customers who have a disability. It seems they only want to make money.

Trying to book a car rental

Trying to book a car rental, pick up at the airport drop off at an airport for 2 days and the total is 132 but for fees and taxes is 902 dollars so in total 1038 Are you freaking kidding me like be for real I bet they did this because of what's going on with the flights just disgusting

I booked a car at Intercontinental…

I booked a car at Intercontinental Airport during Hurricane Harvey and the late August 2017 and there was a national emergency. All the rental car places were flooded. I could not get a rental car for my trip. It was about a week rental. Not only did I not get my rental car money refunded, there was no contact number I could call. No one answered anything. I was ripped off and no way to recover my money. Every time I see your commercials I think about how you took advantage of me. I will never forget this the date only goes back 1 year and if you respond the email or letter will start out "unfortunately" It does not resolve the fact of what happened. 832 948 5294

Enormous hidden charges

Recently booked a car in the UK with them (was redirected to QEEQ, who ultimately the booking was with). The original booking I paid for included a car from Europcar, unlimited mileage and a different drop off to pick up location.
When we arrived to collect the car it was an absolute conundrum. The agent at the desk ended up charging us DOUBLE what we had already paid in AUS.
He also wanted to charge us an extra $400 for the different drop off, even though we had included this in the original booking, he said it wasn't!
It was an appalling experience and I feel like we were completely ripped off.

Kayak are allowing Traveljunction and Crystal travel to continually put on prices that are way below other travel agents. The prices don’t exist. You will immediately receive a call to sell you the flights at highly inflated prices. Shame on Kayak for allowing these scammers onto your platform.

I used to use Kayak for many years, but now they seem to host a lot of scam travel agencies that bait-and-switch flights. They take no responsibility when I contacted them and still host the scam companies. Such a shame.

Directed to wrong airport

I picked an airport, and selected a flight. For some reason, the flight was changed to a different airport in the same city.

I appreciate the low price, but kayak needs to warn people if they are not flying into the airport they are searching for.

Now it’ll cost me 100usd and 1.5 hours to Uber to my destination. I’ll still use Kayak, but this is just dumb. Warn people with a pop up if they are not flying into their airport of choice!

KAYAK IS A SCAM!

I purchased a flight I found on KAYAK. When I purchased KAYAK directed me to a "partner company" called Chatdeal.

On May 31st, 2024 I received an email notification that British Airways CANCELLED my flight. I was scheduled to depart to Berlin on June 1st, 2024. I contacted British Airways to inform them that I cannot rebook that flight in a different schedule. They informed me that they will refund my "Travel Agency" and that I must contact them.

I called Chatdeal's "customer service" number +1 855 920-9942 over 5 times already and the only thing they do is redirect you to fill-out a "Form" that they send you via SMS. I have filled-in that form over 3 times now.

After you submit the Form there is no response. I have been waiting for 3 weeks now for a refund of a round-trip flight from SFO to BER. I was stupid enough to also purchase the "Support Bundle" and the "Cancel for any reason" services. The total amount paid was $1,543.87, receipt number is K52DFA6.

KAYAK should be ashamed by using "partner companies" to be scamming their customers. No wonder they spend all that money on adds to allure new victims, I mean customers.

I am still waiting for customer service to respond and refund me.

I booked and cancelled something in the same day and now all they do is send the same email about my refund. Looks like I’ll have to do a small claims or charge back on my credit card. Broderick of ChatDeal was fantastic

Broderick of ChatDeal was fantastic! He went above and beyond to find flights that would work for me at the lowest fares. He took the initiative to follow up, research flights, and call me two days after I had given up booking flights myself due to the complexity of finding two tickets in different fare classes on the same flights. I’m so glad he did. Throughout our phone interactions on both days, he was patient, professional, and focused on meeting my travel needs. I spoke with several ChatDeal agents in the process of securing my flights, and all of them were professional, but Broderick stands out as exceptional. One of the best travel agents I have ever worked with!

Don't trust it

I thought this was a good search site to rent a car, which it was. However, somewhere along the line, I was switched to CarRentals.com instead of what I thought was the Hertz website. I rented a car in mid-April for a trip in June, and now when I'm trying to cancel it because it's no longer needed, it says it can't be done because I pre-paid. This is outrageous to me. I haven't used the car and they have had the use of my money for over a month!

Plane tickets shown after check-in time has passed

Missed my initial flight so I tried to book a replacement with one of the soonest available on Kayak. If the site disclosed anywhere that the cut off for check-in was approximately 15 minutes after I booked the flight, it was not anywhere obvious and I did not see it. Missed check-in for the second flight because of it, & Kayak was still showing tickets available for that flight after boarding had ended. Absolutely dogsh*t, wasted $200 and several hours.

Bait and switch scammers. Flight prices shown are invariably increased by up to 50% at the final checkout
I've used two different phones/accounts, 15 mins apart -- the second one still shows the lower price even though the first says price has increased.
They do not respond to my queries.

Can't get any lower

Can't get any lower, went through Kayak thought we had rented an Audi A3 through Auto one £141 from Firenze Airport May 10th to Monday 13th, paid part of the rental, paid for full coverage insurance and agreed the deposit £750 on a credit card. Got picked up by car rental shuttle and dropped off by the reputable rentals. Ours wasn't listed rang the number and was picked up and taken to a warehouse somewhere. Waited over a hour listening to disgruntled customers saying they'd been ripped off. Had my partner, daughter and 3 year old grandson tired, hot, Hungary and needing to get to our accommodation for my sons wedding. Sat down gave them the contract and was told for such a car it was £1500 deposit and would have to pay a bigger insurance premium. What we had paid for was a Fiat Panda! We showed it clearly laid out in the contract an Audi A3 or equivalent, they said it was'nt worth the paper it was written on they didn't recognise that company. We cancelled there and then and had to pay €72 for a taxi and a further €102 to return to the airport. Auto one just gave generic response to chat, will put in a claim but steer clear of Surprise Cars the surprise is your getting your pants pulled down and right royally shafted.
