As is echoed in many of the reviews on this site the operations are below par. The company adds and changes features and you constantly feel the rug beeing pulled under you. Their support staff is not very coherent and as has been mentioned in other reviews they will ademently refuse to refund you.

Krisp.ai auto-renews dormant accounts and charges annually without sending notifications about the charges. The only notifications provided are about expiring credit cards, which conveniently omit any mention of subscription renewals.

In my experience, when I noticed the charges and requested a refund, Krisp.ai refused, citing a strict no-refund policy. Their support suggested that users should proactively cancel subscriptions, despite not being informed of the ongoing charges due to their lack of notifications.

The expectation that a card expiry reminder two months after the charge should prompt a refund request within a week of the charge is unreasonable. This practice of charging dormant accounts without notifying users and refusing refunds is not just poor customer service; it's unethical.

Krisp.ai seems more focused on retaining money from inactive users than providing good customer service. Their support level is disappointing, often deflecting responsibility instead of addressing legitimate concerns.

Avoid them. If you sign up, immediately turn off auto-renewal and set a reminder to cancel.

I cannot express how utterly ridiculous this product has become. Somebody in the company management apparently decided that they really really wanted to pivot into AI. So now this product - which was supposed to be about making my sound crisp - now has some AI note taker I never asked for. EXCEPT I CAN'T TURN IT OFF. There is literally no way to stop it from taking notes of my conversations. And now it slows down the product and screws up my audio. The whole reason I downloaded your now-terrible product was to make my audio sound better because it ran better than the other sound dampener I was using. Now it runs more terribly, uses more memory, and ruins my audio. This company will be bankrupt within a year.

Their software doesn't work. Also no refund policy. Please don't use their software if you would like your money refunded after product fails to work. It does not work in reality.

Update: Issue has been resolved. Will monitor.

Terrible Customer Support. I was a Krisp user for several years. It wasn't perfect, but the product improved over the course of 2021-2023. During this time, I switched jobs and convinced my new team to use Krisp for video recordings and client calls. In June of 2023, I was let go from that company due to an acquisition. My paid account was attached to that email, which I no longer had access to. In Nov of 2023, I received a charge for a yearly subscription from Krisp. I went onto my account and noticed that I only had the free account. I had forgotten about the account attached to my old work account. I reached out on Krisp's platform via the chatbot inquiring about the charge. I was told someone would get back to me. I forgot about it, and a few months went by. I reached out again, and this time, I emailed their support directly. We went back and forth for over a week about my different accounts, with me emailing screenshots of my bank account multiple times, providing all my information and story multiple times, and after a week of over 12 emails, I finally got them to cancel the work account, but they refused to refund any of my money for that charge. Due to this really poor customer service, I have to say I will definitely never be a Krisp customer again.

encountered any issues with Krisp recently that after running for 15-30 minutes, all of a sudden people in google meet/zoom can no longer hear me and i have turn force close zoom and shut it back on

App is designed to be annoying. After asking you to login they force you to give calendar access. When you try to login again the small skip option appears. I just wanted to download a noise canceling app that works and instead they tried to trick me into sharing my calendar. A company that designs something this shady for no reason can't be trusted.

App constantly harassers you if you pick another audio source.

The 60 min per day arbitrary noise canceling limit is dumb. The canceling happens on device and uses your hardware. There is not real reason other than to upsell you on "Pro"

The blog posts on their website comparing themselves to Nvidia's free app don't mention the 60min per day limit.

Works in theory, in practice, it's useless.

I'm really not unaccustomed with new technology and use quite a few different apps & tools on a daily basis.

However, getting Krisp to ACTUALLY record meeting transcripts seems to be an impossibly difficult task.

It's especially frustrating because you only notice afterwards that you don't have any notes for an important meeting, when you actually relied on it.

IMO the Krisp UX needs much improvement so it's crystal clear when you are recording for a transcript and when you aren't.

I can only guess but I think it didn't record because I had to switch between headphones and audio output mid-meeting (due to surrounding noise). Should be a standard usecase tho.

The Krisp app (installed on Macbook) has the toggle for "Note Taker" on and a checkmark behind "Transcribe". You'd expect it to do so. In vain!

Same happened 2 weeks ago.

This is directed at their billing practices. I've had a reoccurring subscription as a personal user since 2019. Some point during the month of September 2022 they dropped the personal plans but continue to charge for them. My account has been downgraded to the free plan, but they kept my annual payment for the older plan.

Sounds way better than the competition. Background voice cancellation has been quite helpful in crowded environments . It works really well combined with an ANC headset.

It would be preferable to have transcriptions completely offline to adhere to working environment restrictions.

I think this software has solved one of the biggest problems i have now. I work from home and outside noises are difficult to control, especially when you are in meetings, and this tool has been wonderful...

Krisp, when it works, works as intended. However, the app is poorly written and the taskbar button will crash or not even react to right/left clicks. This is before any other apps are launched.

You are better off using nvidia broadcast as an alternative as that program works, and works well in all my tests and gaming sessions.

i want a refund.  i have tried everything forums say... i have waited long enough to be helped by customer service.  and nothing is working.  i paid for an app that used to work awesome., but now, its causin more problems than is fixing.   i have lost A LOT OF CALLS. du to PC crashing.. mic auto muting.  mic going silent..  sound screeching.  and it is ALL due to how poor quality the app has become.  i dont understand why but quite honestly im not interested in knowing anymore.  i just want my money back and to be able to call this a bad experience.    i dont know exactly what channel to use for this.  i want my last renewal money completely back since it is before that happened that the app became crap.  i guess i will try to send messages over social media aswell and an email to customer support to see where i can find a person to  get my refund done.

That's an excellent solution for everyone who works remotely, since it does save your call from all the background noises :)

It was raining heavily, I tried a voice recording with Krispy and it cancelled out the sound of the heavy rain drops on the aluminum roof.

That's next level noise cancellation.

It gave me the confidence to record without fear of background noise

This app is FABOLOUS, when it works. Best thing ever! I work in a noisy building and it filtered all the noise. Loved it! However, the two times I have had some work done on my computer and reinstall the app (my PC is 1 year old), it goes crazy. If I have the app on, it doesn't allow me to select Krisp microphone and speaker... the options blink on and off and won't let me select any. If I am in a virtual meeting, my mic turns off every 3 seconds. If I am watching a video, the sound is intermittent. I have contacted Krisp support... no solution yet. So sad.

I work from home and have 2 kids running around and this really works to keep the noise out! I love it!

The setup process is really easy and fast. It makes a huge difference in calls. We used to have a lot of background noise in the office, which often affected our calls and meetings but ever since we started using Krisp, the call quality has increased drastically and the background noise is gone.

It's so noisy where I live, where I hold online classes and record lectures. Krisp has been a godsend!
