Total scammers avoid them.

Total scammers avoid them.
Called them out to get me into the house as I was locked out with the key still in the door.
As we had a letterbox all they had to do was use a special bar that fits through the letter box and either pulls the key out or pushes the door handle down to open the door. The person that came round said that this piece of equipment was illegal and were not allowed to use it. ( after checking with other locksmiths since seems to be a standard piece of equipment that locksmiths use)
Was told that he had to drill the lock and quoted GBP 49 call out and a further GBP 185 to gain access , then said that he didn’t have the same spec security lock, despite stating he had and pressurized me to take the so called higher spec which he charged GBP 225 for. It turns out you can buy these for less than 20.
So after the bill already reaching a staggering GBP 459.00, he then added a Labour charge of GBP 225 for just putting 4 screws in. The whole thing took under 30 minutes work and the final bill was GBP 826.00 for a job , that I have since discovered , would have cost around GBP 225 tops.
Having communicated with other locksmiths, turns out that our type of call out was a simple one and would never have the need to drill the lock.

I have reported them to the trading standards and the MLA who will be passing this on to the police. They claim that they are accredited by MasterLocksmith Association ( see logo on the website) when in fact they are not.

They come across very nice. Criminally overcharged. Needed to get into my shop. €480 euro…just to get in. No replacement lock even offered and left a mess for me to clean up. Very unprofessional.

The locksmith said it because of company charges, but the company said its the locksmiths charges. They rip you off when you’re in a desperate situation. Crooks and Criminals!

Criminal Crooks

I had awful experience with this company yesterday. After I lost my key and called Locksmith 24 first of all their employee came late. It was one second job and online was £38. He wanted me to pay him £450 when I said to him I will not pay this money. He started to insult and harassed me. Big full of tattoos criminal Russian spoken men. It was another one with him. When I refused to pay £450 he said to his associate “grab key from her hand” and he was blocking the door from my closing it. I was alone so scared and humiliated. He sweared at me using horrid words and screamed. Finally he agreed me to pay him £150 after that he insulted me again and they left not even finished the job proper. I call company to get his name but they refused to give me his name . I did police report with all details . If you have a Choice never use this company . They are just awful . I thank god that I was not injured by him.

Over priced locksmith

24hourlockservice was a hefty price I must say. I had asked if I could get a quote and they said they will give it on arrival but they had proceeded and opened my door anyway it was too late to even question it. I had quotes of $90 - $80 and I wished I had gone with the $80 because I had to pay $240 now I'm just in disbelief and thought maybe it would be around the same price uuughhh! I wouldn't recommend they said they will arrive around 20mins I was waiting for 2hours. So if your gonna look up a locksmith do not go with these guys. 24Hourlockservice.com.au

We were charged over £700 to replace a lock, even though the locksmith only took 15 minutes to complete the job! While I was still considering getting another quote from a different company, the locksmith had already finished the work. We managed to negotiate the price down to £650.

Non transparent and unprofessional company

Also known as quick-help
The key was broken in the lock and I was quoted £49 call out fee and told the lock may need to be drilled and replaced.

When the gentleman, Abdullah, visited he advised that the lock needed drilling and replacing. He was given the green light to go ahead. The cost was £49+ labour + £200 for the replacement lock.

Whilst doing the work, he competed the lock installation. The handle wouldn’t lower properly and as he drew up the invoice, I suggested if I should oil the handle. Eventually he decided without a further indication of further costs. He took the gear box apart and was unable to complete the work. He took the gearbox with him and advised he would call back in the morning. He did not. I contacted him and he said he would source a replacement to be installed that afternoon.
He called back stating he couldn’t find the replacement and would leave me for 3 further days without a secure door- in a worse state than he had begun.

Before he left the property he provided me with an invoice to £750+ and advised me that the remaining work would cost a further £500. A job that was initially circa £250 has now become £1280+. The issue is unresolved . I have two toddlers in the house and the house is not secure.

Whilst on the phone he hung up the phone due to a request to provide clarity of when the work would be complete or when he would return the gear box that he removed.

This company is non transparent and should be avoided at all cost!

I will be contacting the ombudsman to resolve the matter.

I spoke to Laura who advised she will pass my message to the manager with no time frame of how or when I will be contacted. She advise me to put a complaint in writing , ignoring the fact that I have an unsecured home with 2 toddlers in the property.

Robbers

Robbers! No call out quoted for my client, a frail and disabled lady who had locked herself out of the house. Response time quoted 30 minutes max, actuality 100 minutes. Final bill to replace a standard lock was 660.00. Remember this is an 87 year old disabled person. Disgusting to say the least. ALSO AVOID DIYBEST who carry out work for them

The worst customer service I have ever received. The call out charge was quoted £29 and charged me £47. I was told only when they arrived that they may not be able to open a simple bedroom door. They then went to quoted me £400 to get the door open. Please avoided this company at all cost. They also operate under another company on Google. The other number is 0203 873 6242. I will report them to trading stands.

How £55 quote turned into a £500 bill

Was quoted £55 for callout (it was actually £59). Guy claimed he couldn’t pick a standard Yale lock and would have to drill it out for £150. Having done that he said it would be another £150 to fit a new lock - I didn’t have much choice as the front door was now unlockable . As Yale locks are around £50 I assumed this would be inclusive of labour but no, labour was another £150. I see other reviews have had the same experience. I gave two stars only because guy turned up quickly

I'm not happy to give even 1 Star

I'm not happy to give even 1 Star. This company is absolute rubbish & they gave me a quote very cheap in the beginning & later after the repair, the quote was very high by adding late night outcall + VAT. Trying to claim with my home insurance & they can't proceed without the VAT number & I tried to reach them they said to email us & it's been a month & no reply even after chasing the email. Please do not use them or get into this trap.

Following a massive search for UK TOP NOTCH SERVICES LTD. This is where I end up! I get tht you should check reviews beforehand but when you are locked 'out' how are you supposed to do this in an emergency! Absolute scammers and there should be a governing body that takes them down! Trust Pilot my backside! Luckily, I was bigger than their poor technician (all 9 stone of single female me) and he didn't get paid the amount he wanted for changing my malbox lock!

NO STARS - SCAM SCAM SCAM

Hi - last night when house sitting a dog at a clients house while they were away - I got locked out of their house- there was a dog inside and I needed emergency access - I contacted 24/7 locksmiths - they quoted me £45 on the phone and sent out a staff member- they turned up and drilled a hole in the door and opened the door from the inside and then wood filled the hole afterwards. After being quoted £45 on the phone, to my face he then said the bill was more 3/400 then increased to 600 the bill came to 814.00 with labour and tax - as it was quite late and I needed to get to the dog as owners away on holiday and not answering , i paid it via natwest credit card and afterwards after doing research - I realised that I had been scammed.

I really appreciate I should not have paid- i was in a vulnerable position - am trying to rectify with insurance and trading standards atm - just please avoid dont want anyone else to go through this.

Disgracefully overpriced company

This is a disgracefully overpriced company. Avoid at all costs. We were quoted one price for call out and charged another. The price works took no more than 30 seconds and we were charged an additional 70 pounds.

DAYLIGHT ROBBERS

Do not use this company they are complete scammers. We got locked out recently on a weekend and rang this company before reading the reviews and paid for it big time. The chap who came out was not at all transparent about the costs and initially quoted £380 but then after replacing the old lock which he drilled out presented us a bill of over £800. When asked for an explanation said that the call out charge and VAT were not included in the initial quotation. They deserve 0 stars. Lesson learned for future but please do not use this company.

Borderline disgraceful - AVOID

Borderline disgraceful.

Quoted £29 for a call out which was fine when I specifically asked for a full quote on arrival. Once arriving they straight away opened the door and before going any further, I asked what this was costing to do to then to be quoted £220 for 15 minutes work. Before I stopped him he said it would be an extra £500 for parts plus VAT for something which I later found out was a £75 part!

DO NOT USE.
