Used to be great and I invested in a paid package but recently just a nightmare! Creating a 'new video' doesn't seem possible, it's virtually impossible to open up a new window (as the camera functio... See more

I can't stand it when going to their website or page and you see videos moving before you hit play. Annoys me a lot. I ended up finding Screenrec and that one is so easy to use it took a couple of minutes to get it up and going.
Hopeless experience with Mac
This could be such a great tool and has been in the past but their Mac app is a complete mess and drives me mad.
Downloaded it once, used it - it cut off the sound half way through a long video recording without saying anything, so had to do it again, cut off again. Total waste of time
Uninstalled the app.Later tried again with Mac app, this time it recorded video but failed to upload from my mac to Loom - again total waste of my time
Might work ok on other platforms but avoid with Mac
I would pay for this tool if they would only make it actually work on Mac
Discrimination against Microsoft Edge…
Discrimination against Microsoft Edge users. They do have an extension for Egde built and running, but it simply won't record any type of audio even if you manually enable access to the microphone for loom.com and for the website I am trying to record.
Loom tells me to press a button on the right side of the url bar, a button that is not there in Microsoft Edge. I have to use the Desktop App, which cannot record individual tabs. The service itself is ok.
Their support is rubbish
Their support is rubbish. Been for the last 5 minutes struggling with a bot for the simplest of requests!
Avoid!
Huge time waste with Loom
Loom is the biggest time-wasting software for work in 2023. I was a happy user until like 3 months ago when they rolled the new Loom mac app. I'm not sure if it has to do with the acquisition by Atlassian but it just doesn't work. I have got a huge email chain going back and forth with the support and the tech team and even after 2 months they couldn't fix the issue with my videos not processing on a MacOS and a Mac Display monitor. 4K using a custom size doesn't work. Instead of fixing their stuff, support is asking to change to 1440p every time before a recording (super inconvenient), but 1440p doesn't process as well. Hours worth of recordings wasted, a lot of negative vibes, and an impotent support team not able to fix a bug in a company valued at almost $1b. Interesting world we live in.
Used to be good
Used to be good, but it's so buggy now. Keeps asking me to set up the Windows application when I already did. When using the app, the video is eternally uploading. Needs bug fixes ASAP
Extremely buggy
Extremely buggy. Similar to other users. I have a 30 email thread ongoing and they're basically stopping support for the tool. It's filled with bugs.
Loom
Loom, a platform I've relied on for several years across two different companies, has sadly gone from being a reliable tool to a rather frustrating experience. Initially, it served its purpose well, but over time, I've found it increasingly plagued by a host of issues that make it a far cry from the efficient platform it once was.
One of the most exasperating problems I've encountered with Loom is its inexplicable inability to capture dropdown menus when recording videos. It's almost comical how such a fundamental feature has remained elusive for years. When you're trying to guide someone through a process and can't properly demonstrate selecting options from a dropdown, it defeats the purpose of using a video-sharing tool.
Furthermore, Loom seems to be stuck in a perpetual state of stagnation when it comes to resolving long-standing bugs. Regularly encountering black screens and browser crashes has become an unfortunate norm. These issues not only disrupt productivity but also raise questions about the platform's stability and reliability.
All in all, my once-positive impression of Loom has taken a significant hit. I can no longer recommend it as a reliable video recording and sharing solution. It's disheartening to witness a platform that showed promise in its early days fall so far behind in terms of addressing basic usability and stability issues. For those considering using Loom, my advice would be to stay away from it in its current state and explore alternative options that can provide a more seamless and trouble-free experience.
It was great when it started, Now It's awful!
It was great when it started, but then some imbecile went and changed the entire UI/UX and it's horrible now. The app stays over your work, when it saves it shifts and makes you wait and then you constantly are hitting share instead of delete.
They absolutely ruined their own software by trying to appease I'm sure so many different requests or just had a horrible design team say "Oh this would be great if we"
Ya well, no, it's not great. This app sucks now. We're leaving for a simpler app that does everything Loom does but without the stupid nonsense.
Avoid Loom - Horrible Buggy App, Nonexistent Tech Support
I have been a paying customer of Loom for years - and I will not continue to be. Loom used to be a good app 4-5 years ago. In the past 2 years, Loom has become a very buggy app that is not worth using. What's worse, is their non-existent technical support and complete disregard for paying customers' experiences. I've reported the same technical issues for the past 2 years and they NEVER fix. Avoid Loom like the plague. It's not worth the hassle nor the frustration. There are other options. Use them. Not Loom.
Disappointing
For a time, it caught me in a weird loop when logging in - it would drag me to the webpage saying success, but the actual program installed would not log me in. This is mainly a Windows thing.
Most of the time, it's fine and it works.
In a few days, we won't be able to download videos without going onto one o the paid services. We already have a limit on the free tier (which is fair, and I often find myself reaching it, so there is already incentive to pay - which I won't).
I suppose shareholders decided they weren't "generating enough revenue", meaning I'll be finding another service.
Loom makes it easy to lose your sanity (3+ years customer)
TLDR: You can't rely on it.
The loom desktop app has not been working for the past 5 days and the support is clueless. Right after I posted this review, I went to use the chrome extension (worked yesterday) and how funny: it won't launch. So today I can't use loom at all. That's a pretty shi**y service if you ask me.
Even when it works, it's inconsistent and buggy: I personally don't want to use the chrome extension because it messes badly with my microphone gain (I have a Yeti nano and I tried every possible setting, the only solution is to go through a third party software such as voicemeter, it's a pain to go through).
The windows desktop app does not have the auto mic gain issue and allows for 1080p, but right now it's just not uploading, and of course you won't be warned, so better not record for an hour straight (all in all, I've lost days worth of time because of failed videos upload).
In the end, there is always a new bug, random crashes... some days it will make you mad. It is quite frustrating to pay for a service that is not consistent, I will look for alternatives before my next billing cycle.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Using AI very clumsily.
Loom makes it very easy to record…
Loom makes it very easy to record screens and talk through things at the same time! Gone are the days of screen recording and then adding the voice-over.
I use loom mostly as a great way to build SOPs and train others. It significantly cuts down on prep time and speeds up the learning curve when I have new employees join the team.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience. The free version was fine but after I paid it took all day to do a 5-minute task. Regret wasting so much time with this
Extremely buggy
Extremely buggy. It is truly incredible how you manage to create such a buggy product considering the number of engineers and product managers you have.

You can't delete your account unless you promote the app to another user first. Entrapment. A product which is both decieving and disingenuous. Do not use.
Buggy and support is poor
Great when it works, but it's buggy more than it should be. Support is weak and basically a waste of time contacting them. Need to step up their game and sort these bugs out and invest in proper support else they won't have long in this business. Ripe for someone better to eat them up very soon.
Incredibly Inconsistent.
I've just spent a whole day trying to record 5 videos of less than 5 minutes each. Most of this time was spent trying to get Loom to work correctly, because apparently whether it records your face alongside the screen capture is decided utterly arbitrarily from video to video. I used Loom for the same task last year with no issues, so I can only assume it's had an update which makes it worse.
