Unlike my recent experience with another major online booking company Luxury Escapes actually let me call a human being who listened to me and fix my problem. Lychota followed up as she said she would and got back to me. It was a huge relief to actually be able to get real Support for a change.

I have used Luxury Escapes several times now and have never had an issue with them. Recently, I accidentally booked a hotel under a non-refundable policy and needed to change the name to another family member. Contacting the hotel themselves was useless, but I got in touch with Eka via the support panel on the Luxury Escapes website. She was outstanding and handled the case over several days, eventually notifying me that she was able to change the name on the booking as requested, with no charge. Another instance I've experienced was an issue with a gift card redemption. I called them that time and they promptly rectified the issue, then offered to book my room whilst I was on the phone with them at that exact moment. Fantastic service and that is what sets them apart from other OTAs. Their packages are often great value also. Again, my full compliments to Eka from the support team!

I have been using Luxury Escapes for many years and have a Lux+ membership. When things go well, the deals are great.
But (as many others have also pointed out) you do not want to rely on this company to provide any level of service or compassion if things go wrong...
1. My family was unable to travel on the day of our trip due to my wife's illness.
2. We provided a medical certificate to the hotels and to Luxury Escapes.
3. The hotels (in writing) stated that they were agreeable to change the dates and were sympathetic.
4. Luxury Escapes (for over a week now) have denied us the chance to re-book.
5. Despite the fact it is only an administrative change for them, and there is no financial disadvantage to them, they simply reply back that it is outside of their agreed terms. They have provided no legal reasoning for this. It just appears they cannot be bothered to assist us!!
6. We booked 2 hotels through Luxury Escapes. We've lost thousands of dollars as a result. We booked one other hotel directly, and within 24hrs we had amended dates agreed directly with that hotel. Luxury Escapes won't even reply to my emails anymore either.
7. I'm cancelling my membership and booking directly with the hotels from now on. Although it may costs slightly more, the peace of mind is worth it.
My kids are devastated. This is not a 'travel service' company and I have worked out that they do not assist you in any way should things go wrong.

Advised me that the booking that I had made months prior could not be honoured due to a problem with their systems. Offered a lower grade room and a $200 credit for future bookings with luxury escapes. Also had been given the option of cancelling ,which was difficult given the timing . Advised me of all of this less than a week before I left on my trip and would mean I would not be contactable for over a week ( jungle hike in PNG). Referred to a previous email but did not give a date and although I checked spam etc could find no evidence of any emails apart from the original confirmations and the many many many promotional emails that luxury escapes began sending me on a daily basis as soon as I made the booking. I told them that I was not interested in a credit with their company for future stays given they couldn’t manage a simple booking that was also my first experience with the group. Called multiple times and asked for someone to return my calls but I got nowhere. I ended up running out of time and cancelled the booking. Was especially disappointing as I had booked the hotel for a retreat after we had completed the hike. Ended up having to scramble to book another place. Based on my experience with this group I would not recommend using them
