Ebay is the only company I know that charges a fee for a service they don't provide

Ebay is the only company I know that charges sellers 10% of postage costs. Surely this is not legal.
Ebay is a buyer/seller platform auction or set sale. Not a postal service so what justification do they have charging for a service they do not provide.
If I were wealthy enough I would take up a legal challenge over this but I couldn't afford the lawyers needed to fight it.
The only other option would be public protest. If everyone objected to this practice it could have some effect
I'm sure I'm not alone to be feeling so strongly about this blatent rip off

Third class management cannot handle…

Third class management cannot handle dodge buyers on top to get positive feedback by buyers it return money without acknowledgement of seller in this way i lost item and money too. Meanwhile few sellers are play double standard game as well but all this is happening because ebay is double charging them once with paypal and once via ebay invoice on name of service charges on top they want seller to reduce price otherwise their algorithm doesn't recommend ur product. I don't know who they are playing their devil strategy in uk

Careless seller and ebay support him!

I ordered a 36 inch tower fan. When it arrived it turned ok, the motor could clearly be heard but no air came out. I tried to contact the seller but got no response so tried to return it via ebays return and refund service. Well, the only return I could arrange via then was by Royal Mail. Ok, so it was free but I am disabled and cannot get to the post office (besides not having a car for such a large packet). I cancelled the return and my nice neighbour had a look at the fan. The air intake was blocked solid by a lump of plastic covered in glue! I left neutral, not negative since it was now working, seller feedback so imagine my surprise when I see this feedback had been removed at the sellers request! So not only has my honest review been removed for no good reason but it makes the seller out to be reactive to his buyers when he obviously is not. I have added him to my little black book of fraudulent sellers!

Ebay does support and assist Fraud

Ebay continue to allow buyers to make fraudulent claims against sellers
QR codes for online postage are supposed to help prevent Fraud, the customer support team not in UK are very quick to find in the buyers favour and if you appeal via telephone this is the least helpful as all they do is talk at what you should be offering
only wanted to get rid of old stock def not even worth the headache
Ebay has def lost its edge and appeal for me

Ebay Look After Sellers More Than Buyers

I Have Been Buying From eBay For 10 Years.
They Have Changed How Long Sellers Have To Reply To You Re Returns Item, But Taking That Into account It Is Still Taking 7-10 Working Days Which Is Too Long.
When You Buy Item The Money Is Taken Out Of Your Account That Day. This Is Also Part PayPal Problem

Truth behind Ebay's 'most reputable sellers'

Bought item from 'One of eBay's most reputable sellers' who 'Consistently delivers outstanding customer service'. Item took four months to arrive and was inaccurately described. Seller not keen to refund and took many messages for him to invite me to send the item back to China which of course is a nightmare. Looked at feedback page for the seller which had 68 negative comments this year. All with similar issues. But a lot of sales for Ebay.

Disappointed…

I bought a pair of boots from a company on E-bay they are pull on over the knee boots. Unfortunately I couldnt even get the boots on as they were too tight. i requested a return which was granted but the return was to China, the cost of sending them back was more or less what i payed for the boots.I phoned E-bay support only to be told there was nothing they could do.i have been buying from E-bay for over 15years but now i will think again before i buy from them.Disappointed.

DO NOT USE EBAY EVER!

Wow eBays service is absolutely disgraceful. I have been a trusted seller for many years using ebays services. I recently sold an item to a buyer who claimed they never recieved it however I have proof of sending this item and this buyer has no evidence that they did not receive it yet they decided to believe the buyer with no evidence!!! They took £100 from me without my authorisation. Never am I ever using eBay ever again. I hope everyone wakes up and realises how awful eBay is and there company falls through.

Started selling old items I didn’t wear…

Started selling old items I didn’t wear anymore a few months ago. Earned over £500 for it, but I only see £350 by the time eBay and PayPal take their cut of selling price and postage which I think is a bit much. But, I’m happy enough to have a few extra pounds in my pocket, but would have liked a bit more lol

Avoid. No buyer protection

I am deeply disappointed with the lack of control on the site and the policing of unscrupulous sellers. Ebay seems to side against buyers who are loosing out to crooks. I have lost confidence in Ebay and will not be buying there again in the the near future.

Too much fake goods on sale!

I started selling on eBay in 2004 and was at the time not a bad place to sell or buy for that matter. Sadly over the years it has become expensive to sell and full of fake goods and scammers. There was a time if you were reported for selling copies or fake goods you would be punished for doing so but these days sellers can sell what they want and get away with it. The place is full of fake goods, phone batteries, memory cards and virtually anything to be honest. I recently purchased a phone battery, tablet battery and a memory card all were supposed to be genuine but are copies, the memory cards were very good copies but didn’t work. I reported the sellers but they are still selling the same goods and are clearly business sellers using private accounts. You can report them all you want but eBay won’t do a thing because they don’t want to lose the income these sellers generate for them. It’s just not worth the trouble anymore, most recent transactions have been troublesome. I have now closed all my accounts I held with ebay and will not use the platform again. If I want anything now I will use Amazon as I have Prime and can't really fault the service over the years. Give ebay a wide birth if your buying or selling unless you want problems. If your a scammer buy as much as you want and say you never received it and your quids in and if your a seller, well good luck with that!

SPAM EMAIL

I have always had a problem as a Thomas Wooden Railway seller with the obviously fake copyright encroaching product being sold on the platform and the lack of ownership for the problem eBay shows.

Now I find their system sent emails intrusive. I am buying goods and have AGREED with the seller that I will be going for more of his items tonight and will pay him for all items together. Now I am receiving reminder emails for each of the items I bought yesterday from eBay. It is unwelcome spam mail that I should not be receiving. It’s bad enough how often eBay thinks we want to hear from them.

Ebay are are a bunch of fraudsters, engaged in criminal activity.

Ebay are as much fraudsters as some buyers. Buyer claimed an item was defective and didnt work nor did it power on. Ebay force me, the seller, to refund and pay postage returns. Item back and works perfectly. I tell Ebay this and they just shrug their shoulders, not our problem. The sooner all small sellers move to Market place and ASn=mazon the sooner Ebay might realise that they are an uwful criminal company. Id give zero if I could. And note how Ebay never replies to any negative comments.
