Misrepresentation

Terrible misrepresentation. Constantly delivering between 40 < 100 MB per second. No where near 250MB that was promised.

Is it possible that you are connected through WIFI? We can only guarantee the internet speed through ethernet cablem not through WIFI. There can be some factors outside our control that might affect the WIFI-signal.

This could for example be the layout in your residence, how thick the walls are, where the router is placed, the network card in your computer and the router you are using.

My recommendation is that you connect your computer to the fiber outlet directly with an ethernet cable and try again with a new internet speed test. I'm sure that you will see a different result. If you are still experiencing the same issues, then please contact us so that we can take a closer look at your service. We can not help you with this over Trustpilot.

They say 100mbps and you get no where close to this figure.
Very poor customer service. You keep waiting hours if you ask customer service employee to connect you to his manager and then no response..

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Is it possible that you are connected through WIFI and not through ethernet cable? We only guarantee the internet speed over cable. This is because there can be some factors outside our control that might affect the WIFI-signal. For example, the layout in your residence, the network card in your computer, what kind of router you are using and where it is placed in the residence. Please connect your computer directly to the fiber outlet with an ethernet cable and do a new internet speed test. I'm confident that you will achieve a higher result by doing so.

Network is good as far as it works, buy support is poop

Network is good as far as it works. But if you get any problem, it's a hell.
It's July and no one reply to support tickets (it's been 3 weeks) and if you call them, expect a queue of 20/30min approximately to talk with someone that will just tell you: "oh it is a problem from the fiber optic lines, not in our competency, just wait. And remember to pay our invoices".
Plus the call center voice is recorded just in Swedish

You don´t think in the foreing…

You don´t think in the foreing customers, your phone system is only provided in Swedish (what I understand) but if you think a little bit into the foreigns?

Despite Sweden being a member of the EU (free movement of goods, finances, services and people), Ownit requires payment from Swedish residents only !
And the service is sometimes unstable (connection drops off for no reason).

In order to activate a service from us you will need to pass a credit check. The requirements for beeing approved is that you need to have a swedish social security number and a declared income in Sweden for the past 12 months. This is standard with all internet service providers in Sweden.

The past week we've been sending out information about some of the open fiber nets that we operate via is having an increase in their fiber fee, hence we have unusually large quantity of contact at the same time which affects our response time. We have worked with countermeasures and are looking forward to within shortly reach the estimated 4-8 minutes queue time.

Stay with ownit

Stay with ownit. They are the BEST! I foolishly accepted an offer from a big telecom carrier to add home internet sub to my phone contract and IT SUCKED! losing connection 100 times per day, getting disconnected from online gaming all the time.. MADNESS! And they blamed it on my relatively expensive personal router. Went back to ownit and never had a single issue. And if I do their Customer Support is INSANE!

I scheduled the service to start on the day we moved. Once I set up the router, it was a simple process to activate it, and it has been working perfectly since!

My experience with ownit.se since December, 2021.

UPDATE 27 March 2023:

- "If you run into any problems, we'll be more than happy to help you" You did nothing to fix the issues but when people write reviews you become so apologetic.
I found myself a new fiber supplier and there was NO PROBLEM. They connected my fiber in LESS THAN 2 HOURS.
- Someday trustpilot will make it possible to attach photos then I will upload the photos as proof, that way everyone can see ownit's thieving ways.
- I already solved it my way by a) writing this review and telling everyone. b) flushing ownit down the toilet.

First of all, I find it amusing how "support" is so eager to respond to English version on truspilot for SAME company but swedish version is completely neglect. No they must appear to care to the English audience, even though they are located in sweden. Pitiful.
But no worries, I'll make sure to write both version on both pages just because I'm spiteful towards ownit because of their mistreatment and everyone should be aware.

When I decided to buy broadband from them, this was on Tue 12, December 2021. I signed up through their website ownit.se after a day or two without internet I called them questioning why is there no internet connection. The jerk that I was dealing with couldn't be bothered to be helpful, completely nonchalant and total jerk. Basically the issue was they couldn't find my apartment number in their database and was told I should look into that myself. After spending days trying to figure out by calling different companies etc I decided to cancel it all. So I went to their site and contacted them through their chat, I told him the whole issue, his reply was "hold on a sec let me look this into". He managed to fix the issue within minutes and thanks to this him I continued to be ownit customer and I told him that myself. He also said he'll forward the issue with arrogant "support" I talked to with days before.
My connection 100 Mbit/s had some problems, constant disconnections random through the day when I contacted them about this I received a reply basically blaming on my router, which is funny because I had no issue whatsoever with previous broadband provider. With that I decided to increase my broadband speed to 250 Mbit/s after days went by and me doing speed test my connection remained at 92-96 Mbit/s I called them and they basically blamed it on telia. After more than a week and after doing speed checks my connection did not increase yet again remained at 90~ Mbit/s. I contacted them again and this time was because of my network cable, fine I said and I told them I'll buy a new upgraded version but I wanted to go back to my original speed 100 Mbit/s until then.
All this was bearable until the last draw of it all when they started to charge me reminder fee with invoice. I had to contact them again and I told them issue and they said they'll handle it. This was really the last draw and I wanted to cancel my account. After few days I got an email with invoice with last month payment (which I already payed) with next month payment AND ANOTHER REMINDER FEE. I had to contacted them again (again and again and again..) and told them I already payed last month fee why the reason for the reminder fee was? His reply was "I understand", what the?! No "we're sorry for the frustration, annoyance and time spent dealing with you ***" No any sort compensation, nothing! NADA!
That just goes to show how much ownit values their customers.
PS: I don't even know why they have a contact form on their site, they will completely ignore you if you try to contact them using the contact form. I know I tried twice.

Seems to be a trend among swedish companies to send out reminder fees to people, unjustly so too just like in my case. Especially these last years.
You may ask why isn't the state doing something but I'm pretty sure they are completely aware of this and I could go on further but use your logic and figure out why they aren't doing anything about this..
I'll give you an example. A company sends out 100-200 reminder fee to maybe 100000 citizens. 90% of them might dispute the issue by some sort of evidence by calling, mailing them etc and the company will back down. But out of those 100000 citizens there are 10% who might not, due some health issue, age or "can't be bothered" because paying the fee is easier than dealing with those vultures and I can fully understand. So when you think about it 10% of those citizens that pay the fee 10000 x 100-200 kr that is A LOT of money.
So they are fully aware what they are doing and most of the time they get away with it and that's one of the reason why state wont bother, because its more beneficial not to.

So in conclusion, think twice before you deal with ownit.se and be courageous and don't back down and don't pay the reminder fee! Ask for help if needed but don't back down!

I want to start by apologizing that your experience with our customer support wasn't as expected & the inconvenience brought upon you, our ambition is to always stride towards solving your issue within the first contact. We offer support both over Swedish as well as English, when entering our webpage through chrome for ex. it opts to translate our website to English. Sadly, I cannot address exactly what happened to your service in terms of the startup but would rather want to talk about the activation process in general. If you order a subscription over a third-party webpage the apartment number formula might be different from what the net owner has set, it’s apartment number in the systems we activate the service. There’s no question we still would like to offer our help in that matter, but we might ask you to contact the landlord or association (BRF) in order to figure out if there’s an internal apartment number, they have provided the fiberowner. If we do not activate the service on the correct apartment number it most likely won’t work, and it’ll provide internet on the wrong apartment.

In terms of the broadband service, if you encounter any issues, we’re more than happy to help you out, but to spot where the issue lays, we got to troubleshoot accordingly. In case you’re apart of an open fibernet in order to target the issue we’d advice you to connect two units with two different CAT 6 quality cables. We usually target the speed limits this way due to what we may spot in the open fibernet systems. They provide us with something called Link speeds which indicates if the hardware supports “X” speed, it then comes in the format 10/100/1000mb/s link. So that would mean that either the hardware installed from the fibercompany or the own units are at fault which then would be sorted, since we always deliver a tiny bit more than expected from the service. A trouble case towards your fiberowners might result in a technician coming out, they will debit if they don’t find any issues with their own hardware (Computer cables etc.), so we want to make sure that this risk has been tried before opening a case towards them. Not only due to the debit risk from your fiberowner, it would also mean making the handling time way more effective, since they’d otherwise ping back the case for more testing.

Sadly, I cannot speak upon your reminder fee, but in terms of our invoices we only send reminder fee if the invoice isn’t paid within 10 days after it expired. There is a few questions we would like to sort out with you to make sure everything is correct. I’ve got to advice you to contact us and refer to this review so that we can investigate all the issues you experienced and solve them accordingly.

We offer both direct debit and e-invoice as delivery method of our invoices. E-invoice is something that you activate yourself via your internet bank. To activate direct debit, you report it via your digital invoice that we send out. Please follow the guide below to register direct debit.
