Paisley Freight advertise bicycle shipping so I would say it's reasonable to assume that a standard bike box used to ship bikes would be within their maximum size. It isn't. I got charged an extra £20... See more

We have been using Paisley freight for…
We have been using Paisley freight for our bicycle shipping for the last few years and find the service reliable and competitive.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Paisley Freight for car parts new and secondhand.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Paisley Freight. My 2 consignments containing 4 road wheels and tyres arrived 10 minutes ago. That’s 1 week door to door from England (I live in Northern Ireland) In my view that’s a fantastic service. Moreover they looked as if they had just been packed by the sender a moment ago. Thank you very much indeed for a first class service and excellent communication throughout. I will wholeheartedly recommend your company and the service it offers.
Absolutely terrible service
Absolutely terrible service.
Considerable damage to a bike during transit and absolutely no liability taken by Paisley Freight. Utter refusal to offer any compensation or admit any responsibility for the damage when given photographic evidence of the damage.
Terrible service, bike damaged beyond repair
Terrible service. Bike that I sold on ebay damaged beyond repair - photos I shared showed how badly package was handled by the courier - got nowhere with them. Very poor and won't be using again.
Don't bother
Don't bother, only outsourced to APC.
Driver was very unhelpful, stroppy and blamed us for his van being full/no space for collection and didn't really want to take both tyres because they would be "in his way".
I specifically chose to ship with Paisley Freight to avoid this sort of conflict with couriers and paid a premium due to the good reviews and specialised in shipping wheels/tyres.
I packed the tyres as instructed and had everything ready as per instructions and feel the attitude we received totally unacceptable.
When I contacted Paisley Freight they did nothing to help, just brushed it off and said they would contact APC.
sent a set of wheels
sent a set of wheels , collect next day , delivered the day after .
great service
AVOID!!
AVOID!!! I sent a large parcel and I made sure beforehand it was within the max. size as stated on the website. I then have been hit with a £20 fee as they claim the parcel is 2cm over sized, which is not true and I can back it up with photos of the box and a tape measure. They cannot provide any proof the parcel is over sized, but I have to pay the £20 fee just for them to be able to investigate further. What kind of scam is this?? Will not use again.
Top class service
Top class service - great customer support on last minute collection date change. Prompt email response.
Great timing on collection and delivery process .
Be Aware of need to send tyres as singles
Sent two tyres taped together and got an additional charge of £25 as they should have been separate. Read the small guides when booking as they require things differently to other couriers.
Collection driver did not complain and did not say they should be single
Sending - Mountain bike
Used twice now for sending mountain bikes. Service on both occasions have been exceptionally quick. Next day delivery from Scotland to England, one within 24 hours.
£20 oversized surcharge scammers
I'd give these charlatans five stars for delivering a bike from the Midlands to South London within a day but I'm giving them 1 star.
On the morning then bike was due to be delivered, they emailed me to say that the bike box was 2cm too long and because of that, I needed to pay them an additional £20 else they'd keep the bike delivery on hold.
I emailed them back to say it wasn't as I'd measured it myself. They replied that no, it was oversized and it was being kept by them until I paid the surcharge.
Checked the tracking to see that it still appeared to be out for delivery so decided not to pay, waited and eventually got a notification of delivery.
A quick look at other reviews and it appears that this is common behaviour from these scammers. Avoid.
Excellent service
Excellent service. Picked up on time and delivered to the other end of tge country in 24 hours. Awesome. Great tracking system too.
Do not use
Do not use, my box was 162cm i.e. 2cm over the limit and they charge me 20 quid. They absolve themselves of all responsibility of this by blaming DPD overnight so that you have no way to contest the charge. I measured the box to be fine. 2cm is nothing.
BIKE STOLEN from professional HARD CASE…
BIKE STOLEN from professional HARD CASE LOCKED bike box. We have been offered £100 compensation for a pro level racing bike worth £10,000.00 stolen on one single delivery date between York, England and Scone, Perth Scotland. The empty 'broken into' bike box case was delivered with the bike completely gone! PF said that we did not pack the bike as per their guidelines (they wanted us to buy their cardboard box) option and they refuse more than £100 liabilty.
In this day and age how is it possible with tracked vans, employees on books and one single delivery date from one city to another that a bike can be stolen from a bike courier service and they not know where or who took it or at least be offered a proper level of compensation? Even a kids second hand bike would be worth more than £100!
DO NOT USE! They will NOT PAY out but will ask you for every receipt a replacement invoice police report bike number - everything we provided and it was all a total waste of time. We have lost our beloved TREK Madone for good.
Transported a bike with no issues
I used Paisley Freight to transport a bicycle purchased on ebay. There are mixed reviews around, but not many other companies offered the service of sending the packaging before-hand, so this was my only real choice for the money.
They provided a pick-up time period on the day for the seller, and a delivery time period on the day of delivery, all went by without a hitch. The delivery company was APC.
vary reliable
Be aware, last minute charges demanded before they would deliver.
Be aware, very aware! They are impossible to communicate with other than by email. They sprung me with a last minute, £20, outsize fee even though the box they sent us was cut down to a smaller and different shape. They demanded this extra payment after the courier notified me of the time.
Very disappointing and terrible behaviour.
NB, I was using their Bike Delivery service.
In the positive, the driver, wearing a DPD shirt, working for APC, on behalf of Bike Delivery was very helpful and communicative.
What a great service for sending a…
What a great service for sending a bicycle. Ordered a box and packaging, all worked perfectly. Booked the delivery service for pick up one day later. All couriers were really friendly and the parcel was delivered the next day. Brilliant!
Quick and helpful to respond to e mails…
Quick and helpful to respond to e mails and I got my items ok
Never again.
I've used Paisley many times for transporting bikes, no issues. This time however they (APC sub) managed to damage the bike box (that takes some doing) and the bike inside, I'd struggle to do that with a crowbar. Submitted a claim but they just wriggled around in T&Cs until I gave up. Basically it seems like it's pot luck. Need more confidence than that. Never again.
