Avoid Pilfering Paypal

A payment that I believed I was making direct with my debit card went through Paypal as a guest. Now Paypal have effectively pilfered my money by placing it in a pending position. They will not return it to my account until after a review, when I send them my passport and personal correspondence. I won't of course because they are a thoroughly incompetent financial middleman who cannot be trusted with documents on their database. They offer all kinds of invalid spurious reasons. They are a despicable company, but you only realise when something like this happens. I would never ever use Paypal. Make sure your payments go directly from your bank or credit card but avoid Paypal at all costs. The sooner this organisation is eradicated from UK financial services the better for all. I promise you.

Customer protection and service…

Customer protection and service absolutely useless.
Brought a product advertising at certain price, stating all way through what will be deducted, click final accept and pay only for price withdraw from bank to be a lot more than stated. Disputed using PayPal and got refused.
Product never arrived due to dispute and PayPal still refuse refund. Absolutely disgusting

Doesn't uphold Consumer Rights Act 2015

Had an expensive item that was supposedly delivered while I was at work but no photos of a door at all. Company said it was signed for but again no proof of signature or name.
Wouldn't send out paid for item or refund.
Eventually went through Paypal to claim my £300 back and Paypal refused stating it was delivered.
Paypal do not back up the Consumer Rights Act 2015 at all and just ignores it.
I've changed my subscriptions I had being paid via Paypal to another payment method and shall never use Paypal again.
I've always used Paypal before as I thought I was covered if there were any issues but obviously not. If I had paid by credit card it would of been sorted so that is how I shall pay from now on.

Would be zero if possible

Would be zero if possible. I unfortunately bought from Rugby Rushs. They are a scam company and did not deliver as promised. Got 2 out of 4 rugby shirts and they were so fake to be unbelievable and unwearable. Paypal did nothing, apart from insist I still covered the pay in 3 or they would mess up my credit reference. Recorded carefully, in my personal experience Paypal have no interest at all in customers and are happy to ensure they get their money by payments going through to known thieves. AVOID. Paypal, dare you to sue me.

They care very little even about themselves...

Useless customer service. I can't add my bank card to my PayPal account and my bank have done their best and told me it's PayPal's problem. PayPal completely dismiss the problem despite the fact it stops me from using their service?!

PayPal used to be a helpful company & I used them for convenience but also to benefit from their by protection policy however based on a recent experience they are now completely useless and should be avoided! 1 star is too much but I couldn’t give zero.
I had received very badly damaged items from a supplier overseas, but I couldn’t return the items because the supplier had cancelled the return and the QR code and wasn’t accepted at the post office. To send back and pay myself would have been £30 each. My refund I was requesting was £32. Pay pal did not accept any of the evidence that I sent them proving that the supplier cancelled the return.i responded 6 times to them asking for the tracking details, but I couldn’t supply that due to the supplier cancelling the return. So much for customer’s protection against fraud. This is obviously a well known scam suppliers use to take money from people.

UPDATE- PAY PAL CLOSED THE RESOLUTION DOWN IN THE SUPPLIERS FAVOUR. I TRIED MESSAGING THEM BUT OUT ME THROUGH TO AI.
EVENTUALLY I GOT THROUGH IN THE PHONE AND WAS FOBBED OFF WITH EXCUSES. WAS OFFERED A VOUCHER FOR THIS MONEY TO SIT INSIDE A WALLET APPARENTLY. I HAVE 6 MONTHS TO USE THIS. . . BUT I’LL BE DAMNED IF I CAN FIND THIS MONEY.
RAISED A FORMAL COMPLAINT FOR PAY PAL NOT HANDLING THE DISPUTE CORRECTLY, AND WAS FOBBED OFF AGAIN WITH EXCUSES THAT IT WILL BE PLACED IN MY ACCOUNT AS A NOTE. I REMINDED THEM ABOUT THE OFFICIAL FORMAL COMPLAINTS PROCESS AND MY RIGHTS, I WILL TAKE THIS FURTHER TO THE FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN IF THEY DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS CORRECTLY.

Paypal going from bad to outright ugly!


I wanted to use PayPal to transfer money to Germany but What a BAD surprise!
PayPal created a new extremely costly not working outsourced 'service'.
I used in all 5 credit cards and a debit card to send money for a funeral from GBP to EUR in Germany but each time the transaction showed that it gone through with the various banks a minute later the transaction was stopped by Xoom.
Rubbish service by a way too expensive company. In the meantime I had wasted over 1 hour and 40 minutes as I am visually impaired and typing in long IBAN numbers time and again is not good!
Who is going to ban this greedy gringo company? I will send a complaint to my local member of parliament to have this company controlled and chastised!

Very unhelpful customer services

Very unhelpful customer services. Brought a pair of trainers which I returned and never made it back to the company so I couldn’t have a refund from the original company. Contacted PayPal as that was my original payment method they were so unhelpful claimed to have investigated though did it super fast and refused to provide any information. Very disappointed.

Paypal as a business is truly disgusting. They wouldn't help when Debenhams wasn't giving me my refund so I had to get my bank involved. Then then rightfully returned my money from Debenhams and apparently my bank then took another refund from them. They are now harassing me for payment. TAKE IT UP WITH MY BANK! I don't owe Paypal anything as I only got one refund from them, which I was owed. Disgusting. As soon as this is resolved I am deleting my PayPal account. They are honestly just an unnecessary middleman.

I bought an hearing aid through Paypal…

I bought an hearing aid through Paypal which I soon discovered merchant was a scammer...within minutes I spoke to Paypal and as advised open a case thru resolution centre. I got offered a refund from scam merchant but by email and paypal refused to act as refund was not thru resolution centre. So I lose out. I WILL NEVER USE PAYPAL AGAIN AND I HAVE CLOSED MY ACCOUNT.

Do not use

Do not use. Completely useless. I made several claims against automatic payments that were set up without me being aware. All claims went in seller's favour despite no initial communication of the payments. Check your bank statements carefully! And cancel automatic payments that you have never agreed to. Absolutely distraught at the stress caused & the lack of support from PayPal.

Paypal is no longer a company to be trusted

I always used to use Paypal as I felt secure that my money was protected and Paypal would ensure fairness. This no longer happens, they deal with lots of dodgy companies on the internet and always go on the side of the dodgy company. I no longer use them as they just add a layer of confusion. I have decided to just pay by credit card who protect the buyer. The last item I bought arrived not working. I was told to return to China to an address that never existed and my item went to China and got returned to me. I ended up paying for an item that did not function, tracked postage to China and being out of pocket. Paypal should not allow the company to give the return address, they should ask for the tracking from the sent item as most items from China come from a UK depot and the item should be returned to where t come from. In English that is what a return is. "To return an item to the place it came from". They only ask for it to be returned to China to create a problem.
Needless to say after a few bad experiences, I closed my account of over 20 years.
Another problem with Paypal is they do not protect their page source and this enables their site to be cloned and used for spam emails.
Paypal has not moved with the times and needs a serious rebranding.

Stupid Stupid Company

Stupid Stupid Company. The Stupidity of most companies these days never ceases to amaze me. Some stupid person in Paypal made a decision to close all customer support tickets in 24 Hours...Yes you ready that correctly. So their poor old customers have to keep recreating tickets. It's so dumb.. so very dumb!

Poor Resolution Process – Unfair Outcome

I’m very disappointed with PayPal’s Resolution Centre. Although the seller initially agreed to issue a refund, PayPal didn’t follow up or ensure that the refund was processed. Instead, the case was closed in favour of the seller, even though the seller had taken money from my account without my consent. I tried to appeal the decision, but the process is confusing and unhelpful. I’ve always trusted PayPal for secure transactions, but this experience has made me lose confidence in their buyer protection system.

I'm struggling with double payment to…

I'm struggling with double payment to the seller,file a dispute,they are refusing to understand that the seller accepted one payment and delivered the service wich I was happy with,but the second payment was not accepted by the seller but on my balance is clearly showing that was deducted and paypal is refusing to put the money back on my balance.its incredible the amount of stress they are causing,the staff is so untrained.

Paypal consumer protection worthless

I recently had occasion to use Paypal buyer protection for the case of a company (MuseScore) which refused to answer my queries about a disputed transaction. They were supposed to offer a 7-day free trial but debited an annual fee immediately. When I complained to Paypal they said that the transaction had been processed correctly and refused the claim. I am thinking of closing my PayPal account as their consumer protection guarantee is obviously not worth the paper that it is printed on. MuseScore themselves are obviously beneath contempt.
