I booked a Wowcher holiday via prime
I booked a Wowcher holiday via prime to Rome and Amalfi (4 nights)
.. Another one bites the dust!!’
I was given two options,
The hotels I thought we were booking, that were advertised on Wowcher - weren’t even Options to book.
The only hotels available on booking were miles away from anywhere I.e (1.5 hours from Rome and the other was in a totally different town on the amalfi to the Wowcher advert - and not as half as nice!!!
Transfer costs only include half the journey ie only to Naples not Amalfi, which was not on the T&C. I didn’t realise transfers only sent you half way to your destination!!! Who knew!
I was positive and hopeful but sadly as disappointed as everyone said I would be.
However, I will say, they have contacted me in good time via email and were polite on the phone.
Let’s hope for a full and quick refund by the looks of things these have been hard to come by !
I need all the luck in the world and if you book with prime … so do you!
Update 14th July - Wowcher will not refund as the voucher has been redeemed. Prime will not refund.
So no holiday no refund.
Infuriating that I can see the advertised hotels are available and I have evidence!
Also the ‘transfers’ get me 38 miles from my destination so I guess I’ll walk that ?
Plan; my legal team are now involved
And I am escalating with them
Keep tuned in it’s about to get interesting ……
15/7/25 - they have now told me the price I have paid for the holiday doesn’t cover hotel costs? Hence alternate hotels offered. surely that’s their job to check before they sell it at that price ? It gets better
I’ll keep updating as we all should .. !
I purchased a holiday via Wowcher and became more expensive. Avoid!
I purchased a holiday via Wowcher(a trip to Amsterdam) and contacted the merchant, Prime Holidays ( I will do a review for them too). I was told the flights were not available, but I could pay an extra 200 pounds for other flights, for a different day. I had already paid 150 pounds. Needless to say, I declined and asked for my money back. Prime Holidays directed me to Wowcher, and Wowcher back to Prime Holidays. I feel this is to run down the clock on the refund period. Neither company have come with any constructive resolutions, just back and forth between each other.
It seems that this is an occurring theme of theirs. I feel that is a classic Bait and Switch approach, which is banned under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
If no one is willing to actually resolve this issue for me, I will pursue my options with Trading Standards and other means.
What went right???
What went right???? Bunch of scammers. How they can be kept in business is a disgrace. False advertising, clearly to trap you. Paid for Atlantica imp Resort on Wowcher and tricked into a too good to be true deal. Don't know why Wowcher would allow merchants to advertise through them, without checking the legitimacy of them. Now dealing with bank to get the monies paid back.
Scam Scam Scam
What wasn't wrong with what I was sold?? Firstly, the only times available for flights were at the crack of dawn or the last thing at night. After I explained I was traveling with a 7-year-old and these times were not acceptable, I was given the choice of two very slightly better times, but had to pay an extra £80 per person for the privilege. When we arrived, I knew there was no connection to the hotel but was told there was a train station 5 minutes from the hotel. What they didn't tell me was that there were only four trains a day, so I was advised to get a shuttle into town, then take a train to somewhere, then another train to somewhere else, and finally a taxi. In the end, this took 3 hours to get to the hotel. Once we arrived, I soon realised that the photos of the Lakeside town that were on the Wowcher site were of some completely different town, some 5km away from the lake. This town was completely not set up for tourists with no public transport or taxis. The icing on the cake was that there was absolutely no way to get back to the airport in time for our flight without spending over 150 euros on a taxi.
Avoid this company, they suck!!!
SCAM SCAM SCAM Do not book this company…
SCAM SCAM SCAM Do not book this company through Wowcher. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BOOK The 5* Atlantica Imperial in Rhodes on Wowcher you will not be going to that hotel even if you clicked on the dates, show's you the price you buy it redeem it and then
1) They phone you
2) Tell you hotel not available, give you Ridiculous flights which do not exist I checked on line.
3) Send you to Nautica Blue Resort in Rhodes in the middle of nowhere which in fact is not a 5* Hotel NOT a Adults only ,The trip advisors reviews are appalling and say it is like a hi di hi holiday camp Where as the standards of the Atlantica Imperial Hotel in Rhodes are impeccable by food quality standards of the rooms etc. and where it is situated The only thing I can say you are not saving money through Wowcher as I can get the cheap hotel 300.00 cheaper on my dates so they are making a profit from the start and shame on you wowcher stating you get a fabulous deal which you do not get at all.If you are in the same situation get in touch with your local Citizen advice and they pass it on to Trading Standards. Shame on you Wowcher and Prime Holidays
Scam company.
Scam company.
Purchased a holiday through Wowcher and redeemed within 48 hours as it says to do. Prime then said our flights to Rhodes were indirect via Kos and returning to a different airport to departure. They also said the hotel advertised was apparently unavailable until March despite us booking on Wowcher for October. The alternative accommodation offered were significantly lower standard with lower trip advisor scores and none were adults only as the one advertised was. We stated that we didn’t want to book and would seek a refund from Wowcher as we paid Wowcher for refund protection so didn’t expect any issues with this. Wowcher has passed us back to Prime who have said they won’t refund as we redeemed the voucher code even though it’s impossible to be aware of the flight and accommodation issues without redeeming the code and that Wowcher doesn’t specify in the fine print that it’s non-refundable after redeeming the code. The deal is still being advertised 6 days after I was told by Prime that it was unavailable so it’s a false advertising. Sucking people in with good deals that don’t actually exist and then refusing to refund them when you can’t provide the goods and services they purchased. I’m currently still communicating with both, fighting for a refund and have also reported Prime to Trading Standards and the next step will likely be small claims court. Avoid at all costs to save yourself the headache and losing money on absolutely nothing!
Avoid this company at all cost!! SCAM
Avoid this company at all cost, nothing but a scam company. They'll take your money then change the terms and refuse a refund when the flights or hotel are not acceptable.
Bought 2 vouchers for a holiday to Amsterdam via Wowcher to celebrate 15 year anniversary. Costing £339 each which included flight and a stay at Park Centraal hotel.
Only once you redeem the voucher to get booked in do you find out that the flights were never to Amsterdam but to Eindhoven, the other side of the country. If you request flights to the nearest airport (of which there are plenty of seats on flights available) you are advised this will incur extra costs of £99pp.
They provided multiple options that had additional cost to the over £600 already spent completely ignoring the issue you raised and gaslighting you when you complain and ask for a refund. They refuse to return the money and when i escalated my complaint via email was again given the same lies and pre scripted responses. Even a call with one of the line managers you get given the same script.
They state they cannot offer a refund as the voucher is redeemed but you only find out the flight details once you redeem the voucher. So they are knowingly putting their customers in their this position and STEALING YOUR MONEY.
They have refused to provide me a copy of the complaints policy when requested multiple times, staff are rude, dismissive and clearly know what they are doing and Wowcher have been no help and when you complain to them directly they just pass it back to this fraudulent company.
Currently in the process of claiming the money back with my credit card provider. Will be reporting to the following bodies
Financial Conduct Authority
Companies House
company registration number 16236285
Directors GRAHAM, James Richard & GRAHAM, Karolina Anna
Company address 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX
I'll also be contacting BBC Watchdog and leaving the same review on any and every site I can find
They are also NOT ATOL REGISTERED. If you search for them online a different company address etc comes up, this is FRAUD.
All I want is my money back.
What a complete scam
What a complete scam. I booked a holiday to Rome for 3 nights, by the time they request the passenger details and I sent them over the flight was fully booked and they wanted to charge a lot more money for different flights.
This is an absolute scam, avoid at all costs
AVOID
A complete case of mis-selling and abuse of consumer rights. I bought a voucher from Living Social/Wowcher for a 3 night holiday advertised as Newcastle to Amsterdam.
You then have two days to redeem your voucher or it auto redeems. I did the first. Only after you redeem the voucher do you find out the details of the holiday from Prime Holidays - in this case a flight from Newcastle to Eindhoven (not to Amsterdam at all!) - meaning a 120+ Euro transfer. A significant omission from the advertised holiday. The return flight is even worse. Eindhoven to Munich; sit around for hours and then eventually fly back to Newcastle! Or they can do offer you a direct flight to Amsterdam at £109 extra per person. This adds 50% to the holiday cost.
All of this is hidden from the fine print as well as the fact they refuse to refund you and pass you back and forth to avoid responsibility.
The basic truth is that hiding significant details of the holiday - added significant costs or significant flight times prevents a customer from making an informed choice. I have asked my bank to intervene. If that fails, I will take this to court.
I would never recommend this company or…
I would never recommend this company or wowcher holidays to be honest it is not worth the headache a complete rip off and a waste of money biggest scam artist i have ever come across
To be honest with I don’t even what to…
To be honest with I don’t even what to put one star is that bad you can’t even get the holiday that you asked for it is a scam don’t do it they kept dragging it out…and they don’t help you…the people on the phone don’t know what are they doing they only want your money!
SCAM!!!!
SCAM!!!!! DO NOT BOOK! Barely any communication after redeeming and they either want to charge you A LOT extra per person or they will just say your chosen dates are unavailable. The trip does not exist unfortunately. This a a scam everyone. I will do everything to get my money back.
Scam of a company
This company is an absolute scam. I booked a holiday through Wowcher and was passed on to Prime Holidays, thinking I was getting a package that included flights and hotel — but after redeeming the voucher, they demanded an extra £400 just to stay at the same hotel that was advertised, and told me I’d have to book my own flights if I didn’t pay even more.
Customer service is rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. They just repeat the same scripted excuses and take no responsibility. Even though I was within the 14-day cooling-off period and hadn’t booked anything, they refused a refund.
This is clearly a bait-and-switch scam. They advertise cheap deals to get your money, then pile on hidden charges and make it almost impossible to get it back. They are stealing people’s money and taking advantage of customers who think they’re getting a real deal.
Avoid Prime Holidays and don’t trust any Wowcher holidays that use them. Save yourself the stress, time, and money — this is not a legitimate service.
DO NOT BOOK
DO NOT BOOK! IS A SCAM. BOOKED TO GO TO AMSTERDAM THROUGH WOWCHER AND THEY GAVE ME A 5 HOUR STOP OVER IN GERMANY. THEY SAID IF I WOULD LIKE DIRECT FLIGHTS I WOULD HAVE TO PAY £140 PP EXTRA! PLEASE AVOID !!!!!!!!!!
The most disgusting service I have ever…
The most disgusting service I have ever received. This is a COMPLETE SCAM. Please avoid, they are awful and will take advantage of you with no actual holidays. Bought on wowcher, the holiday was not actually available 12 hours later. They have told me no options and no refund- so that was just over £150 gone? This is a scam and will be reported. No working email , this is shocking.
Misleading, Poor Service, and No Accountability – Avoid!!
-1 STAR. I booked a holiday with Prime Holidays through a Wowcher voucher, and it’s been a nightmare from the start. I was told by a staff member (Zoe) that my voucher had not been redeemed and I would be entitled to a refund. After that, I was given contradictory information from other agents, who are now falsely claiming the voucher was redeemed and refusing to refund me.
The holiday they offered involved flying from London to Stockholm, then to Milan, even though I booked for Lake Garda adding hours of unnecessary travel, especially unreasonable as I’m travelling with a young child. I asked for a refund, which they said they were “investigating,” only to ignore me completely after I followed up.
They continue to send copy-and-paste messages, avoid accountability, and waste my time. I’ve since contacted Wowcher and will be pursuing a chargeback through my bank.
Please avoid this company the deals are misleading, the customer service is appalling, and once they have your money, they do everything possible to avoid giving it back.
Disgraceful Scam
Wish there was minus button because Prime Holidays are a disgrace. I booked a holiday through Wowcher. When I finally got through to Prime Holidays after days of unanswered calls they offered me a holiday which had long hours of stop overs both ways & an airport 2 hours away from the destination or I had to pay more for another holiday. I explained I am disabled with reduced mobility & it was most unsuitable for me. I exercised my right to a refund as I was within the 14 day period & the holiday had neither been booked or confirmed. They refused the refund. Since then both Wowcher & Primw Holidays have refused to reply to my messages. I have sought legal advice & been advised I am entitled to my refund. I will now be reporting this SCAM to all the necessary authorities & starting legal action to recover my money. The Citizens Advice Bureau have taken on my case & I have contacted a TV channel who I hope will shame both Prime Holidays & Wowcher on National TV. This business deserves to be closed down permanently. Shame on Wowcher for partnering up with them & then avoiding customers when they ask for help. I would urge everyone to avoid both Prime Holidays & Wowcher
Terrible scam company
Terrible scam company. Everyone must be aware of this scam. It is disgusting. They are just taking advantage of people booking through wowcher!
If I could leave 0 stars I would
If I could leave 0 stars I would. Holiday booked through Wowcher, I redeemed the voucher in order to receive holiday details, when Prime holidays rang they said the flight to Malta (3 hours) would be stopping over in Brussels for 5 hours! If I wanted a direct flight I had to pay £139 per person extra, nothing in the fine print regarding stopovers! This is only a 4 night holiday.
Very rude on the phone, talking over me. Offered one alternative location with a hotel that had poor reviews for same money, or I could pay extra for 2 other locations! Also said I could keep original hotel and they would include airport transfers but I would not receive any refund, if I wanted to arrange my own flights. I said I would look into booking own flight just so I’m not losing my money but now hotel is unavailable!
This was supposed to be a birthday celebration holiday and they won’t offer a refund. What an awful company!
Avoid ! Avoid ! Avoid ! Prime Holidays at Wowcher is a SCAM
Absolute SCAM of a company prime holidays and shame on wowcher for giving them a platform to sell their unreliable and false advertisement packages ! If you are booking a ‘cheap’ holiday to Amsterdam or any other trips, to be frankly honest, through wowcher thinking you’re getting a deal DON’T DO IT !!
In my case after I’ve booked a holiday for 2 over 2 nights for £90+ per person you will get an email from prime holidays with options of flight times but you will end up seeing destination airport being in Eindhoven Airport which is 2 hours away from the main city of Amsterdam and if you wanted to land there you would have to pay £119 + per person extra for the hotel they pick for you which is ridiculous. If I knew I would’ve had to pay that much extra in the end I would’ve just booked it through another airline company which would’ve been just as much but actually be legit and not misleading like Prime Holidays are trying to make it out to be.
I’ve tried contacting them but they were of no help and tried to say nothing they can do as it was advertised as trip to Amsterdam and not ‘Flights’ to Amsterdam which is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of !
I’ve told everyone I know of their scam and how they’ll keep asking for more money and pressure you into clicking the last minute deals and options just to get you to pay that initial payment and then never give you a refund for a holiday you won’t even be going to and now you’re out of pocket by £300+ .
If you are a victim of their scam please don’t hesitate to write you’re reviews and you’re own experience on trust pilot, social media and spread the news to everyone else you know by word of mouth we all must STOP anyone else purchasing from wowcher holidays and fall victim to the scammers like Prime Holidays !
