Horrible experience with psi exam

Horrible experience with psi exam. I passed the national portion of the exam and needed to re-take the state portion. Website doesn't allow me to book the state portion only. I called customer service 4 times to solve the problem. They eventually told me that I could skip the national portion on the test day since the platform doesn't allow booking the state portion exam only.

I took the online exam, logged in 30 minutes earlier and found out they didn't know how to skip the national portion. I spent over 1 hour on the live chat repeating the same questions and answers. I strongly believe they are using AI to facilitate the test. I met two technical support both claimed as Melvin, asking the same questions.

Such a huge waste of my time and money! Now I'll have to re-book and will take the exam at a test site. At lease I'll be dealing with human beings.

Unable to resolve repeated technical difficulties

I've had a deeply frustrating and infuriating experience where Psiexams was repeatedly unable to resolve technical problems with their software.

I'm trying to help a family friend do his ABRSM music theory exam. First he tried to do the exam at school, but the software couldn't be downloaded due to the school firewall. His home internet connection is not reliable enough for the software, so I took him to my university office. But by this point the exam had expired because it was more than 3 hours since he first tried at school. After a long chat with customer service, they said that they couldn't do anything and ABRSM needed to reset. This was on a Sunday, so we sent an email top ABRSM and waited. Later in the week ABRSM confirmed that the exam was reset and it should be accessible now. So the following Sunday I took the student back to my office. He downloaded and installed the PSI exam browser, but now it gives an error message 'Your session has expired for this exam' and refuses to run.

PSI customer support claimed that we just needed to uninstall and reinstall. But that didn't work. I tried on several different computers. Then they claim that they are unable to do anything about their software and that this is somehow an ABRSM problem, even though ABRSM says that the exam is reset and should be open now.

Really bad experience

Really bad experience. system didnt work properly. shut off simultaneously as I ended my test. I was in panic I thought the test didnt register but It did, Thank God. Proctor was a bit extreme. Interrupted me too many times during exams. I couldn't read aloud. mouth words and at some point she said "Can I put my textbook away during test" Im thinking you screened this whole room what textbook are you talking about? Are you implying I am cheating. She was referencing my scrap paper. She said look at computer when writing on scrap. So im supposed to write without looking. Just too much. If anyone is taking this test id advice just go in and take in person..........Oh by the way I PASSED!!!!

I took my Missouri Real Estate…

I took my Missouri Real Estate licensing exam several times via the online proctor. I will never take an exam that way again. It crashed my first try made it through 16 questions & couldn’t get back on. Tried it again, passed the National portion then it froze & wouldn’t allow me to take the state so then there was more money lost. The 3rd time it froze again towards the end of the state exam while I was double checking answers, the proctor threatened to end the exam because I was talking as I was upset about it freezing! This is a terrible company, tech help wasn’t helpful.

Packages mid-advertised

The test advertised as "multiple attempts" for practice tests , yet declined access to them after 1 try. It was the entire reason I bought the $99.95 package. Then they tried to sell me a upgrade for like a day. It was wild. I would not recommend anyone purchase this test. The only thing I felt I found useful was the verbiage and layout of the test, since it's been 15 years I got licensed.

Hagerstown Testing Center Complaint

I wanted to call the test center prior to my visist, because I had a few logistical questions. I couldn't find a phone number ANYWHERE on the internet, so I gave up and just went. Thankfully, I found the building easily and was able to park nearby. Upon entering, I noticed how old, and dumpy the building looked. The bathroom that I used wasn't very clean either.

The workers weren't particularly friendly, and they told me I was not allowed to place my personal belongings in a locker. They let another test take use a locker, but not me. When I asked why, they said it was because his phone unlocked his car. In my opinion, that is discrimination. I felt VERY uncomfortable and vulnerable leaving all of my belongings in my vehicle, over an hour away from where I live.

I completed my test, and thankfully the computer worked well. I have no problems with that part of my visit. As I exited the testing room, the front desk lady had her BARE, dirty feet up on the desk where people sign in. Very unprofessional. She printed out my test score, and I left. I will NEVER go to this center again, nor would I recommend it. I'm giving two stars because the parking lot was large, and the computers worked.

I am providing this feedback to explain my experience at the testing center and the reason for my rating.

When I arrived for my exam, I encountered an issue with the proctor, Priscilla, regarding my clothing. According to the stated policy, items such as hoodies, sweaters, sweatshirts, and cardigans are permitted. I was wearing a long-sleeve shirt with a zipper, along with pants that also had zippers. However, I was told that shirts with zippers were not allowed, despite this not being clearly outlined in the policy.

I made multiple attempts to comply, including adjusting my clothing to a single layer and offering to wear it inside out or backwards so that it would meet any concerns. Despite these efforts, I was repeatedly told, “I am not going to let you test,” rather than being given a clear policy-based explanation or solution. This approach felt more discretionary than policy-driven.

The situation escalated unnecessarily and ultimately prevented me from testing, which was both stressful and frustrating—especially given that test environments are already high-pressure for most individuals.

I do want to note that the supervisor I later spoke with, as well as the agent who assisted me with filing the incident report, were both understanding and professional. I appreciated their support.

My concern is specifically with how this situation was handled at the testing center level. Clear, consistent communication of policies is critical, and in this case, the lack of clarity combined with a rigid, individualized approach created an avoidable negative experience.

I hope this feedback helps improve consistency and the overall testing experience for others in the future.

Blindsided by the actual exam

The practice exam that I purchased covered virtually nothing in the actual test. I studied for hours to pass my Virginia Contractor's A/B exam and the actual exam reflected almost none of the material that was covered in the study guide. In fact, a lot of the questions on the PSI exam were poorly worded and didn't match the actual definitions in the books you're allowed to use during the exam. Years ago I took my RBC specialty license test and I bought the PSI practice test and it covered so many of the questions on the real exam, which is the entire point of the test prep. Why did I just study 51 test questions and only 3-5 are on the actual test?
In summary, the practice questions were useless, the real exam was confusing and difficult to locate the right information(much less decipher the ambiguous language), and I don't even know how to properly study for this exam. I feel like I've been scammed out of $20 for this practice test and I'm very disappointed in how different the study material is from the real exam.

Avoid PSI if you can!!!!

This company is unbelievable. Got kicked out of a test before I even started it and now I have to reschedule and pay the fee for a 3rd time even though I never got to take the test this time. Customer service is a joke, not helpful and can't understand any of them. If you can go through another company to take an exam DO IT!!!

Purchased practice tests a week ago and still can’t access them. Sent three separate emails and haven’t gotten any response from anyone yet, you are better off just studying on your own because if you buy tests there is no guarantee that you can use them.

I booked my esthetics exam 2 weeks ago here in Atlanta. I booked my theory and my practical for the same day, yesterday - Monday March 3rd 2026.

I get an email Friday reminding me of my theory and my practical exam coming up that Monday.

I arrive to my theory at 8:45 am to find out I’m unable to take my test and the system has been down since the previous Thursday.

I take my practical at 1 pm. Leave my phone in the car and I come back to my practical being cancelled at 1:30 pm

Today is now March 12th I’m still unable to take my theory and I now have to take my practical again. I NEED ANSWERS. I am UNABLE TO GET LICENSED DUE TO NEGLIGENCE WITH PSI. IVE PAID FOR MY TEST AND I AM UNABLE TO TAKE MY ESTHETICS THEORY AND IM BEING ASKED TO RETAKE MY PRACTICAL
