My 2018 T120 Bonneville needed its first oil change under my ownership. I gave Shirlaws a phone to make sure they had everything I needed and were open on the bank holiday. I turned up the next day, h... See more

My first purchase from a dealer went extremely smoothly and I am happy to say Shirlaws have very professional staff working for them from reception to sales including the delivery driver for my bike..
I dealt first with Rachael who I actually did the deal with and found her pleasant, responsive and professional. Liam took over and provided me with what was needed again very professionally and did not mind me ringing to clarify things for me.
I am a sales person with over 39 years of sales behind me and was really joyed to feel that Shirlaws valued me as a new customer.
When I think about a change of bike I will be calling Shirlaws
Bought my Kawasaki Zx10r from Shirlaws a year ago, had it in for first and second service the customer service from start to present has been impeccable and I look forward to visiting the friendly staff at Shirlaws the next time in in. 😎
Huge improvement over their old address in town and the extra showroom space really shows off the huge selection of bikes. Everyone there (Anita, Billy, Steve, Daniel & Mr Ducati Murdo) have all made trading in my Ducati for an amazing 2022 KTM 1290 SAS an enjoyable experience. (If only my car dealer was as friendly!). Thanks
Great service as always from Craig and the team at Shirlaw’s Ltd. New bike purchase process and handover was quick and thorough. Highly recommend Shirlaw’s if you are thinking about a new bike or accessories. Great service, thanks again to all involved 🏍️
This is my 4th purchase in 2 years! Dealt with Liam on this occasion who was more than happy to allow me to test ride a couple of bikes despite writing off my last one! I found Liam most helpful resulting in me purchasing the Tiger Sport 660! I'll hopefully keep this bike a bit longer than my previous 3 but certainly wouldn't hesitate in taking my business back there!
This review is in contrast to my previous reviews made when John McLain was service manager.
On 12/9/22 I had my Honda 125 scooter MOT'd at Shirlaws Motorcycle Garage Aberdeen with no advisory as with a record of previous years as same.
However, I was then told after the completion of the MOT that my callipers were seized and needed replaced at a very expensive cost.
My first thought was to transport my Honda elsewhere where the cost of repairs would be significantly cheaper. However because of my ignorance in legislation I reluctantly accepted the quote .. I was not told of any options I had to transport my bike elsewhere should I wish.
On the return of my Honda I took the bike to another motorcycle expert who told me that there is no chance my Honda would have passed an MOT without an advisory being shown in relation to the seized callipers. I spoke with another motorcycle expert and MOT garage who also told me the same... My Honda should have failed the MOT but did not... This leaves me with the thought that Shirlaws Motorcycle Garage in Aberdeen could not have properly MOT'd my bike ... However, according to the new service manager he told me that the bike was properly MOT'd, from which leaves me in doubt.
Nevertheless, I will report this matter and will never again shop at Shirlaws Motorcycle Garage in Aberdeen...
Such great service on a warranty issue with my bike. It’s so easy to expect companies to give you the run around on warranty so I was blown away when Shirlaws sorted it without quibble and said “We just want you to get back to enjoying you bike”. Dudes! A special thanks to Liam.
I bought a new Kawasaki ZX 10 R Performance edition 2022 from Shirlaws in Aberdeen. Daniel was the sales person who was enthusiastic and knew the motorcycle and the various electronics devices inside out. He made a great job of selling the bike to me and with the handover on collection day. Delighted with the service received from this long established family business.
Fantastic service.
Visiting Scotland for the NC500 and had an issue with the bike. No appointment, just arrived and asked favour.
Unfortunately no parts in stock but was given a lift to my hotel, parts were ordered and I was told they'd be in touch. I got a call the next morning, parts due in 2 days and would I like a loan bike to keep me going.
Parts arrived a day early, were fitted to the bike and I was good to go.
No fuss, no price gouging ( I was stuck and would have paid anything to get going) and great to see people who genuinely care.
Thank you!
I had an oil pressure issue with my KTM Duke and it was still under warranty. Shirlaws had my bike for OVER TWO MONTHS with no success in fixing the fault. Eventually I grew tired of their excuses and complained about the service I'd received, explaining id lost faith in their capability to fix my bike.
They took great offence to this negativity - I was told that the bike would be delivered to my home address or to another KTM dealership as they were no longer willing to do the work.
This would turn out to be the best thing they did. Drysdale KTM fixed my bike in one hour and delivered it to me the next day.
Its been a few days now and I can only assume the management at Shirlaws are too ashamed to call and apologies.
I hope I received this poor service because, as it was explained to me by Shirlaws - warranty work isn't as profitable (paraphrasing). But maybe I'm an optimist..
I'll certainly never step foot in that dealership again.
