Our interaction with Ivaylo is an example of the worst human interaction we have ever had to face. Racism was prolific in all of his emails citing “Chinese piece of s**t” and insisting whoever he was talking to was Chinese.

He strongly believes our business is based in China - it isn’t. He believes our business deserves to be dissolved and “fail”.

All of this stemmed from Ivaylo requesting to cancel an order at 2am in the morning, and demanding over the top service for us to reply and execute this hours later, at hours where nobody in the UK would even be awake.

We had already dispatched this order in the early hours of the morning, but because we rate our customer service to be beyond exceptional - upon seeing the email and replying, we managed to get hold of the parcel from the sorting office and redirect it back to us, enabling us to cancel the order and refund him less than 24 hours later. We weren’t required to do this, but through great difficulty we did.

Ivaylo demanded a refund in 24 hours otherwise they would do it “the hard way”. We ignored this ultimatum and bullying. A PayPal case was raised which was quickly closed in our favour.

Despite the resolution in less than 24 hours, we were subject to an onslaught of abuse, racism and swearing.

Great customer service.

I wanted to purchase a hand held coffee grinder and made some enquiries with David from Sigma.
I received very quick advice regarding my wants & needs and following this made a purchase of the Timemore S3.
I am very happy with my purchase and feel the advice given was good. Around 6 months after my purchase I had a problem with the grinding handle of the S3.
I explained this to David and sent photographs of the fault. He immediately sent a replacement with no arguments or quibbles.
I cannot praise or thank Sima enough. Great customer service. This is a company that can be relied upon and trusted. Thank you David.

Smooth purchase and smooth repair

Purchased an 1zpresso grinder from them since they’re the official retailer for it in UK. Purchase and delivery was quick and hassle free.

Ran into an issue with the grinder and had to interact over email with them (they don’t have a phone contact). Nonetheless, they were super prompt with responses and repair and did everything for free.

Very happy with them

Helpful, personal customer service and went above and beyond

Was looking for a new coffee grinder and was very undecided on which to get... David at Sigma helped massively and gave me hugely detailed responses and really took the time to provide honest and reliable advice that best fit what I need (as opposed to upselling for the sake of making a sale). I'd say David really went above and beyond to help me and as a result has gained a trusted customer!

Amazing customer service!

I ordered the Pietro hand grinder from Sigma, David was absolutely superb at keeping me up to date with updates on delivery, and customer service was fantastic. Would highly, highly recommend and would definitely use again!

Excellent

Ordered a number of times from Sigma and they have always been first rate. I was kept up to date with a pre-order and David has been very helpful with stock advice and info. Orders always arrive quickly and they always seem to have something I want to buy!

Bad customer service...

Bad customer service... Asked to return a grinder which appears to be already used. Marks on the body of the grinder with the box obviously previously opened. Customer service was disinterested and said I must pay for returns.

Just be mindful incase your item arrives damaged.

A little surprised to see this one, as we were waiting for a reply.
Luke reached out to say that his grinder had arrived 'used' and provided one unclear, burry photograph of the grinder with no clear reference to what was being referred to. He demanded that the grinder be returned for a new one.

Our reply requested clarification and to point out where the damage was on the grinder as it was unclear to us where the damage was on the photo. A perfectly reasonable reply, in my eyes. If a customer claims damage, we would like to see that so we can document it and action any remedy.

On a closer look of the same image, we saw what looked like an oil smudge (as if a finger had touched the grinder, and left a mark there). We preempted the reply stating if the 'damage' referred to was the smudge, that this would be chalked up to a factory mark from calibration that would wipe away, as all grinders we supply are hand assembled and calibrated.

A correction on what Luke has referred to in the review, we did not say he had to pay for the return, the direct quote was "/if the grinder is undamaged/ the return must be paid for". That is standard, it is part of policy and not at all surprising.

I'll add too that Luke has only emailed once and there has been no dialogue between us apart from us requesting further images to clarify.

Purchased the Sigma Black Mirror Scales, after a couple of months I noticed the rechargeable battery wasn't holding it's charge as expected (lasted 4 days max). I got in touch with David told him the problem and a replacement was set out. 100% happy with the scales and would recommend Sigma Coffee UK to everyone considering buying any coffee making gear...

Excellent experience

Excellent experience, had a slight delay receiving delivery (due to the courier) so I emailed customer service. I received a very fast and helpful response from David, with a clear explanation of the situation and a kind refund of my delivery charge. Absolutely would recommend!

Excellent customer service

Purchased a grinder, portafilter and replacement burrs. Dispatched quickly. However Grinder seemingly lost by DPD. Spoke with David at customer service; very open and honest. Immediately dispatched replacement grinder with alternate delivery company.
Very good customer service and very helpful. Very satisfied with products also

Preordered a coffee grinder (Timemore…

Preordered a coffee grinder (Timemore Sculptor 078s), it was dispatched in their estimated window and was delivered quickly. It came in very secure packaging in great working order.

Originally I considered buying abroad from the manufacturer and having it shipped to the UK, but the pricing was very competitive using this distributor, and the service was great, so I'm very happy with my decision.
