Wow the service here is out of this world!!

Wow the service here is out of this world!! The team at Skimium Briancon are absolutely amazing, super-friendly and very knowledgeable.

As well as ski and boot hire, you can also store your equipment for a small charge. Located just by the main lifts - I cannot fault it.

Great experience!!

Terrible service but take your money

If there was a less than one star I would choose that. I arrived to pick up my ski hire and the local shop had never heard of them & had received nothing despite me paying directly nearly €300 for my hire. I chased them throughout my holiday with no response - my holiday is over and they owe me my money back. I would never use them again. Terrible service

Great services from Janis in the Les Contamines Skimium

Great services from Janis - we went looking for some ski boots for my wife and met Janis. He could not have been more helpful and fun to deal with. We ended up buying 2 pairs of boots at a great price.

Hostile

I prebooked in Livigno, they were rude and unhelpful

In trying to get the right boots for me 8 year old one worker was openly hostile,

Very poor service…

I had pre-booked skis and boots for my child at Skimium la Daille. The queue was very long. The assistants served the customers who had not pre-booked first. It took over an hour to be served. Eventually when we were served the assistant was rude.
I will not return

It was impossible to ski because there was hardly any snow. We went to the shop to let them know we were postponing the rental one day. We arrived there and they told us that there was no problem, that we would only pay for the days that we were going to use the equipment. Last day, they charged us all days, the claim was made but they ignored it. It's unfortunate that they steal money like this.

The peaks of service and support

I just booked Skimium for March 23. I made a number of errors. e.g wrong location; wrong dates. They were so sympathetic supportive and their service levels are the best. Despite all my errors they stayed with me and and were determined to get me result I wanted. Just beware that there's a shop in La Daille that's called Val d'Isere but it's not in the centre. I needed to pay more attention!

Really disappointed with the service we…

Really disappointed with the service we received.We sent an email with our request for an all mountain ski. When we went to collect they were not available offered an alternative which appeared well used. The staff were rude and unhelpful. The store was Les Arc 2000.

Unfortunately would not recommend this…

Unfortunately would not recommend this company. We used the store Champfort Sports in Megeve. The equipment was variable and not well fitted. My daughters toe binding came off and unfortunately we didn’t see where and couldn’t find it and they charged us €50 euro at the end for it which we felt was overpriced considering we didn’t feel it was our fault.

I've had a nightmare with Skimium

I've had a nightmare with Skimium, we booked ski equipment for 2 people, but then one of us was refused at the airport so didn't make it to France. On the same day, I was then checking the website and saw that I was able to still cancel the booking we've had from the next day for a refund. Although it is marked in places on the website that this needs to be done 24 hours before your first day of hire, it was very unclear on the account section going through the cancellation process. In fact, I was able to cancel smoothly and got a confirmation email and everything. So I thought it went through ok and rebooked my pack for the next day, thinking nothing of it. However, the refund never arrived so I tried to get in touch with their Customer Service - to no avail. My emails were ignored completely, apart from a 'rate your experience' email in reply to my inquiry. I then attempted to reply in French which seemed to have done the trick (I mean I'm happy to translate but would kinda be nice to know I'll be ignored in English ahead of sending anything out, just a thought...). I was told I won't be refunded since the booking was cancelled less than 24 hours before the hire (I cancelled in the afternoon the day before the booking started and rebooked that same day). So not only am I now paying for my friend's unused equipment, but I'm also paying twice for mine after stupidly rebooking my pack with them. I don't even expect to get back any of the second pack we didn't use, but didn't think I'd have to pay twice for mine just because the website isn't clear: would it be so hard to remove the cancellation option or add a warning that there won't be a refund if it is less than 24 hours before? Adding to this, the equipment I did receive was very badly fitted, my boots were way too big - not great for someone who's trying to learn.😅

Given that some of this very much was our fault, the support we received was pretty shocking (or in other words: non-existent). The whole experience was stressful enough without having to deal with Skimium, so would highly recommend booking directly with a local vendor instead to anyone considering going through them.

Do not use this company in Les Deux…

Do not use this company in Les Deux Alpes.
Booked the childrens ski packs through this company online, nice and easy hence the 2 stars.
Daughters skis faulty bindings kept slipping back on the rails considering they were supposed to be medium quality they were old rubbish and poorly maintained, swapped next morning no apology nothing this meant we missed a day of ski school wasted money.
Other childs skis not set correctly boot size wrong on the binding setting. Once is bad enough twice is dangerous practice.

Website is broken

I've used Skimium before and it was a real pleasure. The website was really easy to use and having the facility to have each person in your party have a profile set up is simply genius.

This year however there seems to be some sort of redesign of the website and it is a shambles.

Dates change,stores disappear links don't work. It's truly awful.

It took me a very very long time to get a booking done and when I got in touch with customer service their response was that my browser was not up to date!

Being optimistic I think it's a work in progress and it will get better but it should not be online in the state that it's in now.

Apart from the website I had a good experience last year hence the two stars.

Customer service of very high quality

Very satisfied about customer service of Skimium.
Two days before pick-up, my girlfriend gets ill and we are unable to go on ski holiday. I made a cancellation and took contact with Skimium. I received answers within very short delay and got refund of my deposit. Very pleased with offered solution and the friendliness of support service.

Next time, again Skimium for all ski rentals!

Terrible equipment

Better not rent anything from this site!!! the equipment was like 20 years old. I changed twice, but it was all the same - old and broken. On the website they were showing the newest snowboards and when you arrive, they have nothing. The place was ARCS 1800 CHARVET.

Excellent Service

We pre-booked our ski/snowboard hire in Les Arcs 1600 from Skimium for a family of 5. Fantastic service at a great price. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we were in and out of the shop within 20 minutes on collection day. There were no issues when we went back the next day to change my sons boots as they were a little uncomfortable for him and returning the equipment at the end of the week could not have been any easier. Will be using Skimium again. Thank you.
