Smartsend as courier aggregator platforms tend to introduce and expand courier options for senders and attract more business with significant risks, varying reliability and transport conditions for end users. End users should think TWICE before choosing the cheapest courier rate because some are not performing their service obligations, under quote freight to attract attention and later clawback oversized surcharge after delivery. End user will have no say weeks after. Couriers will potentially send you a surcharge for incorrect measurements which can be double the original rate and end users will have no say by then or challenge it.
End user have no proof of the original size booked and even with a photo taken prior, you cannot even argue how far are the measurements are off with a photo!! Smartsend like all other middleman tell you the courier said it is oversized surcharge invoice no matter how small or big it is off. They can choose to charge what they like and when they like for incorrect measurements . This is a dirty trick by XXX couriers or courier platforms to make more money and cover their costs. Even worst, courier aggregator have no control over the courier tracing when things are in dispute and parcel is missing, then sender will need to be prepared to deal with weeks of passing the ball and stories with each other blaming one another for delay and miscommunication etc.

We lost $140 for sub standard contractors booked on their platform like Parca Logistics for lost parcel, and received insufficient compensation. Drag on weeks to admit lost parcel and compensation claim from both parties. So we advise end users to think again about the risks and traps before using courier aggregator.

This would have to be the worst transport logistics company I have ever dealt with. I packaged a fibreglass car roof for transport from WA to the Gold Coast. When the driver turned up to collect the roof we asked if the packaging was adequate and they replied “yes that will be fine”. The roof turned up at the Helensvale and the staff called me because what arrived didn’t resemble a car roof. The company had managed to damage every part including breaking the rear window off completely. When I discussed the insurance, with the less than helpful staff, they dismissed any liability because the unit was not packaged correctly even though the driver could have rejected the consignment and advised it was ok! If your consignment is important don’t under any circumstances use this company!

Generally a reasonable service, but after 3 different delivery bookings were not picked up, I decided enough was enough.
The last failure to deliver my goods was stretched out over 3 days, and each day smartsend would tell me that I needed to wait until 5pm the next day, that's the only response I got until I asked for a refund.
Don't waste precious time using smartsend, it's not smart. Just book the transport direct with the couriers, then if something goes wrong you can at least speak with the people responsible, and they may actually care.
