Wasted time , booked a sofa collection, was ready to get rid of the sofa but thought maybe a charity shop would want it, they asked for pictures etc and confirmed collection on Monday. When Monday arrived they said it was too old... I could of told them how old it was, they never asked! Now wasted my time keeping it for couple days when could of given it to someone else, quite greedy to think people have time and money , well lesson learned, I'm never risking donating something like that ever again especially not for sue Ryder
Also the sofa is a leather recliner that's in good condition and is very comfortable, maybe next time ask how old the furniture is

Lovely staff. Gave us a bit of extra time to finalise our decision on buying 2 sheepskin coats even though the shop was closing. Will be visiting again.

Brilliant service in the Ripon branch! New manager with new volunteers but with great enthusiasm, energy and smiles that made for a perfect visit. I’ll definitely be revisiting this Sue Ryder in the future!.

Just taken two boxes of new books to Sue Ryder in Kingsway Gloucester. I wanted to donate to Sue Ryder as i believe in the work they do, however after sorting the books putting them in the car and driving there, the ladies told me Oh sorry not today as we have to sort them out!!!!! I said I have sorted them they are brand new books, sorry can’t take them today maybe come back tomorrow!!!! Three staff stood around talking, what an absolute joke, why would anyone bother. I will find a charity that actually wants to make some good money out of them, not impressed at all, wasted my time and effort.

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent visit to the Sue Ryder store in Slough. I witnessed a manager, speaking to a young chap in an unacceptable manner. The manager told the young person to "Go Home" in a tone that seemed aggressive and dismissive.
As a customer, it's concerning to see staff speaking to others in this way. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the manager's behavior seemed completely unprofessional. I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and take necessary actions to address the issue.
To improve, the store could consider providing customer service training for staff, focusing on effective communication and conflict resolution. I hope this feedback is helpful in creating a more welcoming environment for all customers.

Bought a solid mango wood book case from Sue Ryder, Clifton Nottingham and also had furniture to donate. A distressed green set of drawers, a grey set of shabby chic drawers, all painted with lead free paint ( lead free was banned in 1996 ) and also a lead free painted book cabinet. Even though I bought and was donating at the time, I didn't think it fair for them to charge me £37 for delivery when I'm literally 2 streets away. Anyway I negotiated a price for delivery and the deal was sealed. The boxed guys came to pick my furniture up, made calls to the Clifton shop, mentioned it was painted ECT with anne slone paint and the shop said it was fine ( I understand why they phoned as regards lead paint) . They were young lads and rejected my furniture as of the chippy paint and were scared of getting into trouble with the Clifton store staff! I eventually advertised my free stuff of Facebook market place and it was gone within the hour! Boxed should reduce their prices as a milage price and not a radius and also educate their staff of what's sellable and what's not. Felt I couldn't even give my lovely unwanted furniture to a much needed charity. Never felt so embarrassed 😳

9/10/25, walked into sue ryders with a friend having a look around as you do, came across a bag that had been on the shelf since 29/9/25 11 days of being there, i had politely ask would they be willing to reduce the price as it is £10.00 and it needed a good wash also another bag what we would of purchased but there was a rip on it priced at £7.50 manger A... in the shop at the time abruptly spoke said "no and that I was a seller and their a charity therefore I should I know" how rude, then she stated i want everything half the price as I asked her manger to reduce a coat to £3.00 surely the coat that she is on about would of been £6 there is nothing in sue ryders ,(coats) thats £6, And I would never ask for a reduce price, when in fact im the one who says no I like to pay full price. I've also pointed out to sue ryders mangers in the past "thats too low in price and should up" the asking price on certain things. Well regards to A... the manger who was on today, I really didn't appreciate the way she was speaking to me and letting the rest of the customers know what she was speaking to me about, so therefore I asked for the head offices number and address her words was "no I dont have the information" then I asked for her full name she replied "no im not giving it to you and head office won't do anything about me anyway"! RUDE, meaning she can do what she likes towards paying customers of sue ryders feltham. Now back in July time same A... has followed me around the shop stating there was a doll that was priced wrong guest who had the doll yes me ! I said this doll priced at £1.50 she then snatch it from me and said "no your no having it as it's going on ebay"! Next day I phoned and spoke to her manager and said how she was, nothing was done and as for the doll it was back out in the shop for £10.00, you can clearly see who prices stuff for the extortionate prices they are today they are only a shop as of the public donations.
I have now drafted a formal complaint and im hoping something will be done about her seeing as she states she gets paid from the head office! Will keep all updated in due course.

It has taken me a long time to consider posting this review as I have donated a considerable amount of money when two of my friends died in their care. My mother came out of hospital with terminal cancer and continuing health care paid to allow her to stay at home which was her wish.
The Sue Ryder team raised and were present at a reassessment of her needs after a few months had passed and it was decided that she no longer needed continuing care. It was very stressful given my mums health decline and the lies that were told at this assessment saying that she hadn’t lost weight among other things. My mum died 4 days after her funding was stopped. I am still so angry 8 months after this happened and I won’t be paying another penny to this charity. 💔

I tend to pop into the shop in Gateshead, Coastworth Rd and francally staff are so disrespectful and arrogant. As a person of colour I personally hate the environment and would not recommend anyone to shop there. Certain staff are very loud-mouthed

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit to the Sue Ryder shop, particularly with the service I received from Alan, the store manager. Despite my efforts to explain my concern, he was unhelpful and dismissive, failing to listen or offer a resolution. As the store manager, I expected a higher level of customer service and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience has left a negative impression, and I hope the management team will address the issue and provide better training for staff to ensure a more positive experience for customers in the future.
Due to poor service from the store manager, Alan, I've decided not to shop with Sue Ryder again and won't recommend them to others.

Bought a book today from the dewsbury store to find 100 pages have been ripped out the books aswell as nearly every other page had been drawn or written on. Thought a well known charity would atleast check this, clearly I was wrong.

Nothing very interesting in the shops nowadays. Anything remotely old or collectable is syphoned off to their vintage shops leaving the local shops with scrap. We are left with cheap trinkets and primark clothes all overpriced. They charge as much for a new t shirt as I can buy new

Being donating at the s Scunthorpe branch for many years. Went today with a large amount of items in bags crates. But was not allowed a trolley to transport the items due to s called policy not even with a member of staff. I shout of gone to another more deserving charity but continued. To be told when I asked for bags or crates for the items as I wanted my crates back it would be easier if we left them. I will not donate to this charity in future. Strange went to the Bernardo’s very helpful staff member supplied trolley and loaded it and unloaded it, perhaps a lesson to learn. I have handed my gift aid card in and am sure their are charity who are more helpful

Sue Ryder is a great store. They get quality things. Some brand new. Even fairly used are good brands. The staff in Lewisham are very friendly and helpful. Their manager l met yesterday is an outstanding guy with a great sense of humour. Never a dull moment around him as l observe customers relate to him in a warm and appreciate manner. I knew their North Finchley shop where l also experienced such warm and friendly relationship with the staff. You will get many quality ex store display furniture or other expensive stuff for cheap in their shops. Delivery is swift with Boxmove as well though abit expensive but l got my delivery the next day. Worth it though condidery the quality of the furniture at a give away price. I recommend them for bargains and excellent customer service.

I donated a very expensive Sofa and recliner to Bury St Edmunds branch which they colleted on time.
I then went into the shop with photos of 3 more items for them to sell and was told they would collect next week. No one turned up to collect the items, when I phoned up to remind them I was told to try another charity as the were busy. I now have my new furniture and all the bits I wanted out of the way. YOU ARE A CHARITY, THESE ITEM WOULD HAVE SOLD TO MAKE MORE MONEY FOR YOUR CHARITY

Collection at both my own address and my partners in the last week have been a complete joke.
Firstly I had 2 perfectly good leather sofas to collect 1no 2 seater and 1no 3 seater clearly the same make of sofa and a matching pair. The guy who came to collect would only take 1no of the sofas due to the fire tag falling off the 2nd sofa. Along with the sofas being a set you could see where the tag had fallen of at some point over the years.
Yesterday at my partners collection she has a single divan bed which we had to remove the headboard to get the bed downstairs. Due to the fire tag being on the headboard which was not attached to the base the driver refused to take the bed. The bed had been slept in once and was perfectly good for someone in need of it as was the sofas but instead they are going to land fill.
Completed joke of a charity

I arranged for some very good quality furniture to be collected tomorrow. A member of staff rang me 10 minutes ago and asked if there were any parking restrictions at my property. I told her that there aren’t, and that the furniture is in the garage, which is completely accessible. A couple of minutes later I received a text to say the collection has been cancelled! When I rang the shop the extremely rude assistant insisted I had said the furniture was in the garden, so it would be wet! Even when I assured her this was not the case, she said that she had already cancelled the van (yeah, right). I asked to speak to the manager, who put the phone down on me. Disgraceful conduct. Basically, the staff at Sue Ryder don’t want donations because they are lazy. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

never known a charity shop to be so ungrateful. donated a lot over 2 years. every time the lady is rude. today was the last straw. my donations got rummaged through and was told ‘we don’t take dressing gowns, christmas trees and decorations, dumbbells etc. my items are in excellent condition, modern and fairly new. the rude lady pounces on you when putting donations on the desk and if you walk out without her rummaging though all the stuff first, she chases you outside. but it’s ok for them to sell dirty furniture. family members have had issues with trying to donate perfectly fine furniture too. will never step foot in this store again. i will drive further and donate the rest of the stuff she wouldn’t take to another charity shop i used to donate to (before moving home) who has always loved my stuff and made a lot of money from. i will never support any sue ryder again.

A fox was trapped inside their Pinner store for a week. 2 rescues offered to help and were at the store so if allowed in, they could catch the fox or simply open the rear door for it to escape. They were denied access. After social media brouhaha, they said oh thank you we're on it. They claim animal rescue freed the fox but have refused to name the "rescue" involved. And no rescue had said the were involved. Which is odd don't you think? Not even the staff know who took the fox. I'd bet it was pest control. Why they had to leave it to residents to push food and water through the letterbox for days is beyond me. Why not ..as we all kept saying...open the back door so it could leave.
* After reading Sue Ryder reply, I don't believe it, sorry. You denied access to Moonstone Rescue who offered to assist and they were right outside the shop. A trail of food leading to the exit would have led the fox out. Also, not one rescue has said "It was us who rescued the fox". And you knew well before you responded on social media that you had a fox in the shop due to local residents informing you. Plus not one photo of said fox being rescued and released? Pull the other one.
