What i just had to go through to cancel my subscription is diabolical... you know they tried to charge me 6 times in one day like wtf was that..I immediately tried to cancel my subscription and they kept saying they couldn't find an account for me while I was looking at the email.. then it made me do some absolutely insane human test where you have to make a bird and some crazy image look the same way using a arrow. Then I chose audio cause that was just stupid and they want you to choose the option with the drum sound while playing other noises over it. I would never ever subscribe to this service again. When you finally do reach the cancelation screen they put s bunch of other stuff there to trick you to stay subscribed..ill be waiting patiently for this class action lawsuit im gone be first in line to get my money back
Tech Support Non-Existent
There is basically no way to get a hold of tech support or any kind of response from Microsoft. I have been a Windows users for 20+ years but am now switching to Apple. Microssoft should be put out of business for their lack of tech support especially when software is expensive. An investigation into their practices is long overdue.

Online chat just disconnects you. Phone calls disconnected. Or simply not answered - I'm currently waiting (47:50 & counting). Support - you get more support from standing on a balloon.
LOUSY SERVICE PROVIDED
Everytime I try to get support from Microsoft Support is painful because no one is ever there to help you. What you always find on the other end is an automatic responder which doesn't help you at all. Microsoft should be ashamed for this terrible service to its customers. My suggestion? Microsoft should abandon the market because they are not worth a penny thanks to the lousy service they provide to their customers.

You clearly charged me twice. I finally got through to a chat where this was acknowledged. A call was promised today of course nothing came through. I challenged the second payment you took with my Bank and of course they returned to my funds so you have cancelled my account. So I have paid £84.99 and I’m receiving no service. There is no way to contact you People. I want my refund now. I was promised that I would only be charged the difference between my renewal price and the offer of the premium subscription, but you actually took two payments . And even left me without a service at all. 4826584619 and 5097234598 . The next step would be for you to ask for those numbers but I want you to respond online not promised to get back to me

My 90 year old mother suddenly could not get into her email account. This account is over a decade old with email contacts/ photos/ emails that can never be recovered again including flight tickets recently sent.
Microsoft Support was absolutely ZERO help. There is no way to simply get a person on the phone at all. The only numbers I could find were automated messages telling me to go to their website. This has been over a week of unneeded stress in my life. I spent over a week filling out forms and turning them in to Automated help that just returned my emails with an auto response saying "not enough information". I supplied them with email address in her contacts/ exact subject lines in emails sent to friends with the time and date sent. The whole process was extremely over the top with no results. After a week I finally was able to chat with what I believe was a human where I could plead my case. And they assured me after elevating the situation to their supervisors, the email account would be recovered. The next day I get another email in (in my account) to fill out more forms. I spent another couple hours filling these out trying to give even more information about her account that I could possibly think of and received yet another auto reply saying this is not enough info and we will have to suspend your account indefinitely. I did not once ever get to talk to a human on the phone. I feel this entire procedure could have done with a 10 minute phone call. This is the absolute worst service I have experienced in my 59 years on this planet and I will do everything in my power to avoid doing any sort of business with Microsoft for the rest of my life. I can't believe in this day and age there is not an easier way to prove you are YOU and your email account is YOUR email account. Absolute garbage of a company.

But when my Microsoft account does get hacked and changed all the information, it gets permanently banned and say that they can not reverse the decision. So they punish two times the hacked person.

Trying to get contact with Microsoft by either e mail or phone is almost impossible. Majority of their e mail addresses are either NO REPLY return or are simply unanswered or their reply box is full.. Letters to their Dublin address must still be in the Microsoft cloud as 2 letters now remain lost. My problem was fairly easy to resolve. I purchased Microsoft Personal 365 in February. Decided to elect for monthly payments at £8.49 however as the order progressed I was given the opportunity of paying annually at an offer price of £60.99. So I went for the offer price. One would think that the order would be amended to just the payment for the annual £60.99. Well ( silly me eh !) not only did Microsoft debit my account with the correct £60.99 they then decided to take a monthly payment of £8.49 as well ( this time they debited an account in my wife's name ( she was not happy ! ) as her bank details were still on MY PAYMENT ( Now cancelled off though). So my complaint was to seek a refund for £8.49 and confirmation that no further debits would be seen on my wife's account. As said earlier there were numerous e mail addresses for Microsoft. All being a total waste of space. Telephone number on mobile just put me through to a useless chat bot. So 2 letters were sent to the different Microsoft addresses in Dublin ( loads of different addresses to chose from ? ) NO ANSWER FROM ANYONE ! I the meantime I cancelled off the order for the monthly payments on MY ORDERS. Within the cancellation it asked why I was cancelling, I just said 'DUPLICATE PAYMENT' Well this actually prompted an email from Complaints. who said please tell me what happened ?? Well read my e mails and letters perhaps. So sent everything off again in reply this e mail - to date absolutely nothing back and no refund. All my efforts appear to have been to no avail. y not expecting one now.
Update...10/03/26... Well No surprise then as no response from Microsoft. . too big for their own boots here !! No refund and quite frankly not now expecting anything back. Absolutely useless. .
I totally agree with most of the reviews - but then, when the system works, it works.
I totally agree with most of the reviewers. Trying to get through to a `human`, when one has gone into that state of brain fog, because you can`t get your emails, and then start to receive phone calls from many people in your contact list, so you realise you have been hacked - is like searching for THE HOLY GRAIL. The Index finger print has gone, and you do not know which way to turn. 10 hours it took, to find the route to an agent or a member of the support team, but when I did, the HELP I received, from the first Agent was incredible; He took control of my screen and did his best, but the hacker had done his job properly. The MSN agent then gave me the route to find another agent whose speciality was Outlook 365...who whizzed my cursor round the screen, up round and through but she couldn`t resolve it - and so she gave me ANOTHER ROUTE - that took another 4 hours, BUT when I had managed to follow the instructions she had written for me to go through HELP at the top of the email page, and then across to SUPPORT,...SCROLL DOWN,to the end of the self help boxes, to where it says " do you still need help" - YES/NO - click YES- and `strike a light` some box comes up with another page to go to, and then the system says "an operator will be with you shortly". :) It took 2 hours for the agent to ring me at 6;45 pm, but he diligently went through all my computer (lap top)whilst I sat quietly on my phone, to try to find where the rogue who hacked me, had had all my emails sent. It was an amazing test of determination and patience on his part (and mine) but he was courteous, attentive and appreciative that I let him get on with his job `quietly` and `normal service was resumed` as if by magic. Well done all of you.

Yesterday i was locked out of my account. The recovery form doesnt work and i can find no way to reach microsoft on live chat. Im just going round in circles and none of the information is helpful. I need to speak to a human and there seems to be no way to do that. I have import legal information and medical reports i need to access. Frustrating i have had the same email for 8 years my life is connected to it!
Poor Service.
I contacted Microsoft re my subscription I eventually got to an online chat human who was helpful but lost a link they had given me, I then contacted online again to a different individual who terminated before I had finished. I rang a third time. and again got a person, I was referred to the subscription centre who were closed, I completed a pro forma for Microsoft to ring me back I am still waiting for that .

My MS account and email were hacked. I am unable to get back in and contact anyone for help. It keeps defer back to that stupid recovery form and nothing resolved. They were asking to fill out most recent emails that were sent via that account. I sent as many evidences but still not satisfied. I just paid the 365 subscription for the year and now I can't use it nor transfer to new account. So frustrated and useless helper.

AI bot in charge of telephone interactions denying human contact
my Hotmail account has been hacked and my emails are being forwarded to an address on a Polish Server and like many users I only have a mobile phone and no access to a PC. Based on the reaction I received, Microsoft support didn't think this was urgent or important. Went round and round in circles from help pages to live chat, back to help pages and finally asked to speak to a human. I was relieved to be given contact details and thought I would get sorted. Unfortunately number given was answered by an AI bot, which directed me to the web address for the help home page! After explaining I'd been down that route and would like to speak to a human, AI bot stated "they cannot help you with that" quoted web address for help page and ended call. Quite a chilling experience of the near future, all humanity sacrificed to the holy cash cow. I have asked for account to be deleted but Microsoft don't think that's fair on the hacker and have allocated a further minimum 30, you can chose 60, days for them to harvest any mail before account will be closed and obliged them by trying to send verification codes to their email address! Will never knowingly or willingly use this company or it's products again.
