Only give it one star because there's no 'half star'.

I failed to renew my wife's account on time and after correcting the matter was charged $20 for the reinstatement - fair enough I guess. However that did not return her connection. The messages she didn't get in the two weeks overdue are all in the messaging co webmail inbox but I can find no way to get them kicked on to the wife's laptop mail. Any suggestions?

Incompetence & Poor Customer Service

I have had TPG mail account for a very long time. Ever since it was migrated to The Messaging Company, I have had enormous ongoing issues, and they seem just unable to resolve the issues. Terrible level of incompetence and pathetic customer service.

I Literally Hate The Messaging Co

The web site is slow and clunky, the fees are going up yet again for a very well below standard service for a email provider.
An now I'm getting a critical error for trying to send an email, "reached my limit' after sending 1 email, what a joke!
This company is typical of a make money with no staff or service.
I also despise iinet for landing me with this email provider, shame on you iinet.

Inept, incompetent, unprofessional childish nonsense!

I arrived at this page after doing an internet search for The Messaging Company Inept Incompetence".
Obviously I'm not alone in my anger and frustration at this dis-organisation.
Inept, incompetent, unprofessional childish nonsense is being too kind and generous. Why Exetel should send their email users to this rubbish company is a mystery - it seems that I might have to chase them up to see if we can organise a more professional organisation to take over.

More useless than useless, you dont even get emails from reputable companies

Useless systems - regularly blocks emails from reputable companies like Telstra, Linkt, Qantas, AGL even the ATO. So if you are dependent upon reliable emails that ever come to you - DONT use this company! As to support - they get back to you in a day or so to say "NO PROBLEM" because by then you have logged in, gone to your webmail once you realised (or received a demand letter) that you owe some money / didnt receive your flight bookings or whatever notice you should have received - wasnt! They seem to rely on you spending hours to work out the problem 9 times out of 10 is....THE MESSAGING COMPANY

Secretly diverts emsils to a spam folder, and then deletes them

The Messaging Company has an online spam filter that diverts emails into a spam folder and then deletes them after 60 days.
I discovered the existence of this folder only by accident, when I took the unusual step of logging on to webmail instead of downloading emails to my email client (Thunderbird).
I cannot disable the spam filter, or change its settings.
Attempts to 'train' the spam filter seem to have no effect.

SPAM detection is rubbish and can't be turned off.

Their does not seem to be a way to turn off the SPAM settings. i.e. the Messaging Company just decide, for whatever random reason, that an email is SPAM, chucks it in the SPAM folder, and you never receive. Ya gotta login to webmail from time-to-time, make all the SPAM emails as, "not SPAM", then move them to the inbox. Why on earth isn't there a setting to just disable all SPAM decision making.
Plus, from time to time, attempting to download emails just stops. Ya gotta retry. Perhaps not as bad as they used to be, but in this day and age, this simply shouId not happen.
I really must off my butt and move well away from these guys.

Not impressed with their "service".

My account was a few days overdue, so I logged in (via Outlook) to pay. There was nowhere to pay. I emailed them and gave them my payment details. They said they would take the money in up to 3 business days. 5 business days later I got a text saying my account was suspended, and I had to pay a $20 re-activation fee. I paid, and emailed asking for a refund. They replied saying not to reply to spam emails! I again emailed, telling them what happened, and that I had done everything via Outlook. They wrote back saying my account was active, and if I needed help, to contact them. I again emailed telling them what happened, and that I wanted a refund. They sent a reply saying my account was now active, and if I needed any further assistance, to contact them. It's only $20, but I can use that money for useful things, not them suspending my account because they felt like it.
NOT HAPPY JAN!

Extremely poor customer service

Extremely poor customer service. Had to call them after my emails firstly stopped coming to my Samsung S24 phone, then they kept randomly disappearing after I had to reinstall my email app. Had to rely on Outlook on my desktop to see all my emails, and found some came through to my phone, some not; some disappeared - completely random. When I called, their person got me to check on their webmail and while I was talking to him, emails literally disappeared from both before my eyes. No one called me back, so I made a follow up call 24 hours later, and the best I could get told by the call centre in Manila, was that the tech team was still investigating, couldn't say how long that would take. I asked if they would commit to calling me back to provide an update on resolving the issue, and they wouldn't even do that, saying "I will pass your request on". I am only with Messaging Company after TPG sold them their email business, but now thanks to their incompetence, I don't know what emails I can't see. As much as a pain as it would be to change to another email address/provider, that's starting to look like the least ugly option compared to dealing with the Messaging Company. Avoid them like the plague!

If I could leave no stars I would

If I could leave no stars I would. Appalling service. No spam filtering and customer service in response to issues is virtually nonexistent. Was forced onto this provider by my ISP and have regretted it ever since. Avoid at all costs.

Beware, Online scammer.

⚠️ Warning: I was unexpectedly charged $47.40 despite never signing up for any subscription. This feels like a blatant online scam. Had I not reviewed my bank statement, they could’ve taken even more. If negative stars were an option, I’d rate this -5.

Dreadful

Dreadful. So unreliable. Emails from known senders (including replies to my outbound emails) frequently going to spam or just not coming through at all. But what does come through are spam emails - any marketing email you can imagine would go straight to my inbox, no issues. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.
