NOT ONE THING ABOUT THIS COMPANY CAN BE COMMENDED

Everything people have said here is correct. I have shared the same experience along with maybe a million people who were with iiNet when the corrupt TPG took over. TPG is absolutely immoral and I will change and go possibly to Aussie Broadband.

I have had so much frustration with the Messenger Company. It was a scam set up with the cooperation of TPG. One of the reviews here further down outlines the history of putting people into the Messenger Company. It is an accurate record.

I have been 2 months trying to make the change over. No one helps and you wait on line for ages and get some Philippino I think it is. I have had 2 women when I reached out in support and both were the rudest people I have ever had in support anywhere. I am 80. Both started to attack me inferring I am useles and then hung up. When I was trying explain one told me to stop talking and listen to her!

I keep waiting for the email support to answer either by phone or mail (using a different email of mine) and they send some notification but no one ever answers. The whole thing is disgusting. I suggest everyone leaves TPG in protest.

What I have learned is that those who are at the other end who are supposed to provide support are totally useless in any technical things, and can't even help me with simple things, but rather one of those women destroyed the signin for my mail. It can't be fixed.

The "change email password" on their site does not work. You have to confirm the new password but there is NO box or line to do that. I tried two different browsers and it is all the same. I think it is done deliberately so you can't proceed with them.

So much more I could say but my investigations led me to the owners of The Messenger Company. It is owned by ATMAIL based in Queen Street Brisbane, so it is an Australian Company. There is just no way to contact them at all. There is a listed address in Queen Street but I bet it is a shell company.

Today I gave a lot of details about my experience to the local Federal Member, and that office will look into this and get back to me.

I also contacted the Telecommunications Ombudsman but because it is not an internet provider, they can do nothing. They suggested I contact the Department of Consumer Affairs, and I did that, contacting the Qld office. They tried to wriggle around the matter, so typical I suppose. They won't bother.

I have never been so disgusted by the absolute lack of support, the hostile support, and the pathetic quality I have seen with The Messenger Company.

Australia is so lacking in quality assurance and quality control.

If i could minusrtate them i would
After nearly 30 years of continuous email services from ###@adam.com.au and subsequent owners (Internode Iinet) across a number of family and business accounts my services were all transferred across
useless idiot bots who provide no human support, failure to provide mail service and now finally im trying to renew my subscription and i find the account has been cancelled
this is despite me sending s message a week ago to ask fir the status if all our accounts and a method to pay
i was told to go online !
Avoid this firm like the plague
You simply cannot get help and the bits go around in circles

Worst possible service

This is a company run by bots.
As a Netspace/iinet customer for decades the sale of the email service has been done for greed alone with no regard to ongoing customer service.
Trusting a company such as Messenger would be complete folly and is to be avoided at all cost.

Would give them a zero if possible

Would give them a zero if possible. Long-term iinet customer, transferred to tmc. Problem with emails not coming through - have rung and sent service help request - not able to get through and no response. Still waiting for callback after 5 weeks. Now, all my emails prior to a month ago have gone. Again, sent an online request marked as urgent and tried to call - phone line went dead. No response from email request. This is distressing, as have lost a great deal of personal information. They don't care - don't use them.

Very Very Poor Service if Any

Very poor. I was with iinet and they were great! The Messaging Company is useless. I paid up one year subscription at the highest level thinking they would be good. What a waste of money! I paid for 2 accounts. They don’t answer emails, phone calls, and their Bot is useless. What a disgrace of a company!!

I'm a transferee from TPG

I'm a transferee from TPG.
I wasnt keen on the change, as it was effectively a price increase from TPG.
But price wasnt my issue.

Had my email account hacked after The Messaging Company took over, not through bad password management on my part.

Changed my password & corrected the changes. (These included redirection of my emails to a dodgy email address with a tpg.com.au domain name). Doing so gave me access to webmail, but not my devices. After several unsuccessful attempts using the chat bot to set up my devices, I was hung up on after about 45 minutes on each of 5 phone calls, When I finally got through, still no success, so I was asked to email a screenshot. Before getting a reply, I decided to start from scratch by adding a new mail account for my existing email.

That worked, so happy days. But only 4, as now I'm getting no emails, even on webmail, & I can't send via webmail. As there's no other issues, have to resort to the dreaded phone wait(s). Been hung up on once while writing this.

That simple step of a new account should be in the chat bot documentation or advised in the support call.

And not much concern about hacking - as if it was not uncommon. As the dodgy email address used the tpg domain name, the Messaging Company, as owner of those servers, should be on top of that improper use.

Post-script
Emails have started to flow, including a couple while I was off the air. But still a massive gap, & test emails sent when I was off the air do not appear.

No.outage reporting that I could find.

Don't Stay with THE MESSAGING COMPANY

After being with Westnet for many years, we were told that we had to change to the Messaging Company, which we did. Now we can't open emails, problems with sending and receiving and to top it off, now have to pay for the extremely poor service. Once we have other issues sorted, we will be changing service providers. This TMC is probably the worst and untrustworthy. Possibly will be a Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman issue. WA

don't waste your time and money

Been with westnet for as.lomg as I can remember, I have / had 5 active emails with them. When I was forced over to the messaging company I can't say I was thrilled. Ever since the transfere all inboxes have been flooded with spam and phishing emails and now expected to pay for that privilege. If your looking for a premium email host put them at the bottom of the list. I'm moving all my accounts / subscriptions else where

I was part of the Westnet email system…Give The Messaging Co a miss

I was part of the Westnet email system that was migrated to The Messaging Co. Since that time I have received mutiple spams daily, telling me I need to click various links in order to make the account work to its best. These are all spam. Its like all our email addresses have been passed to a spam networkthat is enormous. My email has now failed to send and receive emails at all and apparently I have been suspended due to abuse. I was just using my emails same as I have been for the past 25 years. I run a business and am now out of contact with my clients. For 3 days I've been trying to get support and I've either been given instructions that don't work or I am completely ignored.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE As soon as my Iinet email service was migrated to The Messaging Company I have had my email address hacked. I have been with Iinet for over 25 years with this email address and never had a problem
After 5 hours on the phone to 4 different call staff I was able to get into get back into my emails but even after resetting to the new settings for this service I am still not getting any emails. I am transferring to another email server. Please if you want to save yourself a lot of heart and headache do not let your current server migrate you to this service.

Abandoned and let down by iinet!

I was part of the iinet migration... iinet needs to know that they have really let their customers down. I was with them for 20 years with no issues. I know The Messaging Co is a startup but its absolutely atroscious. The webmail program is the worst I have ever experienced, including any during the dialup years, it lacks a great many standard functions as well as losing emails. Its extremely buggy and if you click the wrong thing at the wrong time (unknown to the user) you will lose emails. It can be replicated and it's been fed back... the response yeah well, thanks.
I have come to learn the company stores and has access to our emails for 3 months behind the scenes so privacy is out the window.
The company experienced many many issues during the year long migration AND the whole thing was done without having a price for the service in mind. We have literally had to wait until the 30 day count down to renewal day to find out.

I was emailed and told my service renewal will be at the same price that iinet charged. This is not the case. Iinet have charged me the same amount for the past 10 years and the price The Messaging Co has invoiced me is $50 higer. I have attempted to contact them 6 times now. There is no phone number to call which is a red flag for a shonky and/or poor quality service provider. I have emailed, used their online chat bot, and even tried to get support to help. If you have a support issue they respond, if you have a billing issue they do not.

es this company is a startup but I recently found out that they have a parent company called Atmail who's reviews are just as bad. I can also see that the webmail we have is Atmail's program so there is no way we are going to see improvement. I feel betrade by iinet and utterly let down by The Messaging Co. They don't give a crap because they know we want to keep the same email and there is nothing we can do about it. This company is 100% for money gain and not customer experience. Shame on you The Messaging Co. The TIO is getting my complaint.

Thinking Messaging Company? Don't!

After being migrated from iinet the messaging company has lost my emails prior to Feb 2024. After multiple calls and emails over 2 months the issue still isn't resolved.
Don't even consider using this company. I only remain atm to try to retrieve my lost emails for business.
Terrible supplier. I was told many other customers are experiencing the same issue!!

Don't use the Messaging Company

I had an iinet account for over 25 years and have been forced to use this company in order to keep my email address. So far, this company has been a disaster. I have been having problems with my Outlook email for 2 weeks now and each time I phone to get it resolved the representatives can't fix it and tell me it needs to be escalated to level 2 and they will phone me back. No one phones back. Other times, I'm told that there are system outages and someone will contact me when it's resolved. I'm fairly sure that I'm just being fed standard excuses to get me off the phone. I believe there is no intention to phone back, they just want to keep putting me off until I go away. Please avoid this company for your own good, I will start migrating my emails elsewhere.
