Company gone into liquidation. Beware
This company fitted a new solar panel system in June 23 after they were recommended by solar guide. We thought they were reputable because of this ,but later discovered that they must have been in trouble when they took our job on. Bitterly disappointed to find out that they did not go complete the job properly and did not provide us with with a certificate. When we tried to contact them several times in many ways there was no response. We then discovered after some checking that they have gone into liquidation and we have no comeback. Solar guide have also been no help at all in the matter. We have also discovered that they were not MCS registered and should have not been recommended. We are now left with an expensive system and have to find another company to rectify the problems which means additional expense to us.

Eco Smart have gone under, but TAGgas have to fix my issues
We had our panels fitted and, like many others, discovered a hole in our roof.
This was a problem because the company has gone under.
HOWEVER! Eco Smart UK weren't MCS registered and were instead paying another local company to sign off Eco Smart's work under their MCS registration. I'm told this isn't unheard of, but luckily, what that means for me/us is that TAGGAS LTD now have responsibility to fix any errors that I have!
I called TAGgas Ltd who were caught off guard at this discovery, but can't refuse to fix the work that they were supposed to have signed off, otherwise I go to MCS :)
In summary, Perhaps it's a good job that Eco smart went under, after looking at there reviews, but we have Taggas Ltd to fall back on and a google search will help you find them

Hole in roof where Panels fitted - Tiles broken and botched up with a panel laid over it to try and hide, i've sent emails and tried to call but their 0800 number is just on a loop. Yet another UK company happy to rip off the public
No one responds to emails
No one responds to emails, can't get issues fixed. Maybe they've gone bust.

The salesman Craig Morgan promised me that EcoSmartUK would complete all of the paperwork and supply the MCS certificate. I had two other other companies quote for the work and it was important to me that I received the MCS certificate which the other companies said they would also supply, but EcoSmartUK had a lower price, now I know why. After installation I gave EcoSmart UK 5 stars because I couldn't fault the workmanship but I'm still waiting for my MCS certificate. I've contacted MCS directly and they tell me that EcoSmartUK are not a certified installer and therefore I will not be getting a MCS certificate. What does this mean, my surplus electricity will continue to go into the national grid for (nothing) no return in my investment. I was lied too.

Had my system installed last year. A leak in the roof has appeared under one of the panels installed. Found felt ripped under all other panel fittings. Cannot get in touch with anybody. Can't get through on 0800 222 9532. No response to Emails.
Scam - Avoid
Scam, they did a god-awful job installing the panels, and now don't send any documentation so we can actually use them. Their phone system is closed and no one responds to emails. Going to need to seek legal action to get them to do what they promised they would.
Excellent service
We received a call from Lee who gave us the info in being able to secure funding to install solar panels. Heat pump etc. Four weeks later we have a brilliant system and a warm house . From the office staff. The panel fitters. The insulating guys(one of who is X factor quality singing). The plumbers electricians and joiner they all have made this a pleasant experience. Every single one treated ourselves and our home with respect. We were dubious about the company after reading reviews but we are more than happy to recommend eco smart. Apart from still waiting on decorating allowance this job was done within four weeks . Thank you to all . Too many names to remember .
I had my solar panel system installed…
I had my solar panel system installed in May 2023. In spite of making numerous calls to the company, I am still waiting for the paper work including MCM certificate which was promised to be deliver in 2 months after the installation. Now, the company doesn't even answer my call.
I am still in the process of giving them further business. Very poor, and my trust is now scattered. Please think again to go with this company.
Poor follow up service.
As with other customers, started off well but their follow up customer service is shocking. £450 for bird roofing, what a joke. Fitted with one small screw, first 2 inches of snow pulled it all off at the front when it melted, scaffolders cracked my guttering leaving water pouring over my porch. This all happened early march 23. I've asked for a refund for the bird proofing as it's been completely useless through the summer. I've written several emails that have been ignored and one call to their office last week ended in the girl on the phone telling me to get it fixed myself. I've tried to call again but the call seems to be on a loop so you can't get to the person you want to speak, if you press a number it just brings you back to the menu again. Shambles, probably closed down by now.
Faulty system, months gone by, NIGHTMARE
It all started so well, they fitted panels and battery storage in a timely manner but that's the last good thing I can say.
Power tripped if it was too sunny, DC current leak which causes shocks, usage figures incorrect. Each time they come out to fix an issue something else breaks.
Installed in April, it's now October and the system still doesn't work properly. We have another DC current leak, the house is full of scaffolding, they installed a zappy charger which was dragged around the floor before installing which is so badly scratched up it looks second hand and its missing all the waterproofing parts so we can't use it.
Now they've stopped replying. Where do we go from here? Who's going to fix our fence they broke? Each time they come they leave a right mess, it's genuinely as if they have no idea how to proceed so they simply "have a go" each time and hope for the best.
Time to complain to the relevant regulating bodies I think.
1 year later and still chasing
1 year later and we still don't have paperwork so are exporting to the grid for free.
They've come out to fix things and left everything turned off by mistake for weeks on end.
Not responding to calls or emails.
The owner promised me paperwork then saw this review and sent me a voice note saying that he wasn't going to send it any more because we left them a bad review.
Promised me compensation after admitting many faults.
They've marked themselves as closed on Google business to not received any more bad ratings.
Absolute cowboys.

We're still waiting for the sign off Forms and have had no news. The Solar Panels where fitted in May. There was some other issues but the Company went above and beyond to fix them.......It's just the paperwork now
Professional from start to finish
Communication with their office was frequent,useful and straightforward. Quote was very competitive. The 5 guys who fitted all the kit were very professional and friendly. Installation was quick (5 hours) and the equipment is all working as it should. In all honesty I highly recommend Eco Smart UK.
Still waiting….
This review is for the service/install and not the products used.
We had 12 solar panels and 2 batteries installed back in May (2023) after meeting with Adrian who was a really nice guy and he was as helpful in getting us an accurate quote.
The install itself was not such a good experience.
The day of the instal I received a phone call stating I need to pay the full amount or else they will not start the work, so I paid up…my biggest regret.
Scaffolding went up quickly can’t fault that, then roofers came along and made a right mess of my property, didn’t clean up any mess just threw all roofing tiles onto lawn and left there all plastic and debris left.
Electrician came a day late, and told me I’d have to dig my own trench for him to lay the electrical cables as he’s “an electrician not a ground worker”. Even though I had paid for the work to be done which was on my order form. I don’t know how he could pass the system off to British standards as he couldn’t vary the depth of the trench for the cables.
They damaged a brick which fair enough it happens but tried to hide it and didn’t say anything to me. (Brick has now been fixed) Again left all the rubbish and didn’t bother cleaning up at all so that was a nice surprise when I came home from work.
Left no instruction or help on how to operate anything, just left it all turned off.
Scaffolding was up for 2 weeks even though promised no longer than 3 days after install.
The most frustrating part about the service is the sign off and certification which we were told would be 4-6 weeks. (This is needed to sell back to the grid). 4 months down the line and still nothing, just false promises. So all summer for 4 months we’ve lost money as we’ve been unable to sell to the grid because we still haven’t received our mcs certification.
Again this is not a review of the products just the service. And no I wouldn’t recommend uk eco smart.
Poor performance all round
Back in October 2022 after a meeting with Adrian Bowen, we ordered 12 solar panels, an inverter and 3 batteries.
When the installation team arrived in November 2022 they said they could only fit 9 panels (eventually fitted 10 after some persuasion). It was at this point that we should have curtailed the order and gone elsewhere but we carried on!
The aftermath from the installation day included;- rewiring in fuse board not labelled, damage to bathroom ceiling from work in loft knocking out ceiling lights and damaging plaster, broken slab on patio from dropped scaffold tube, rubbish including plastic bags left on roof and in roof gutters, roof gutters knocked off facia boards, conduit on external house wall not straight, cable to electric meter box left laying in roof rain water gutter, and roof tiles not properly re-seated in a number of places.
After a number of conversations with the company the roof tiles were eventually re-seated although UK Ecosmart employees had said this was not the problem and that the tiles needed cutting and it 'looked s**t'. The scaffold erected to do the re-seating caused further damage to other tiles.
Further issues have included;- support brackets missing from some solar panels so they were waving in the breeze, broken roof tiles hidden under solar panels, and a broken tile fell from upper roof onto lower roof breaking tiles with debris falling onto patio.
During the most recent remedial work, more broken tiles were found under solar panels that had to be lifted to fit the missing support brackets. This has been raised with the company in case more exist under other panels that have not been checked and are waiting to fall but no reply has been received.
In order to get to this point UK Ecosmart have failed to arrive on several occasions when appointments had been made. These appointments were not cancelled, they just didn't bother turning up and we have had to stay home waiting for them not to arrive!.
The most recent remedial work was done some 7 months after the original installation. Since then I have emailed the company more than once, with no reply, to raise the outstanding roof tile safety issues and also one concerning a space on the roof where at least one additional panel could have been fitted but the roofer on the original installation, in my belief, wrongly said one could not go there as it would have no support and would therefore bounce.
Despite the response from UK Ecosmart, they have not replied to emails about outstanding items, as mentioned above. These are the issues of; whether there are broken tiles hidden under solar panels that have not been lifted giving the potential for either falling parts of tiles or roof leaks; the blank space left on the roof where a further solar panel or panels could go but their roofer decided not to fit one (interestingly he is no longer with the company as they sacked him); how the company are going to compensate us for all of the time we have wasted staying at home waiting for their tradespeople to arrive and they have not turned up or even said that they are not coming.
