Terrible material

Terrible material. Really hard scratchy. Think the womens walking socks are made out of recycled water bottles or crisp packets because they feel just as soft as.
I tried washing them thinking that might help but they are still really rough. Not going to risk ruining my feet in them. Thrown 1 pack of 2 away and sent the other 2 back but the returns process is not transparent and is expensive. Despite sending items in 1 package as order together, I think I have been charged twice. Would suggest you look elsewhere. Much better quality products out there with easier and free returns.

Utter Crap Useless blister free guarantee

Bought 4 pairs of the 2 layer socket blister free socks from go outdoors. Walked the camino santiago in them the past two weeks, alternating two pairs a day to keep feet clean and dry as possible and got blisters on heels and two toes! Called to calm on the guarantee and told the guarantee only covers one pair of socks per transaction, which means as I bought 4 pairs on one receipt they will only refund one pair. A completely useless product with a very misleading guarantee

Achieved 3% of promise

Just walked the John Muir Way, about 140 miles so no problem to these socks......well
I got less than 30 miles before a toe hole appeared, shockingly poor.
They were a gift and the embarrassment and apologies from that person made me wish I'd lied about the socks longevity.

I will never wear another pair of these inappropriately named socks again.

Fell apart after a month!!

Bought two pairs of these highly recommended 1000mile socks after reading some reviews. Both pairs fell apart after about a month and a couple of washes. Black bits everywhere and the logo stitching hardly resembled what is was supposed to. Very disappointing and both pairs went in the bin during a SE Asia trip. Just wasn't worth taking back yo uk and complaining. Definitely would NOT buy again

They need a rebrand

I'm thinking about importing some cheapos from Asia and calling them 10000 mile socks as it seems that the brand claim doesn't have to have any bearing on the longevity or performance of the product :-).
Three and a half months of active use for me and probably around 500 kms and they've got big holes in the soles.
Back to Bridgedales....

No longer 1000 miles socks, 10 if you're lucky!

Well this is the last time I'll be buying 1000 mile socks, 9 miles in & they have holes. Customer service tells you to pay to return the socks 'signed for delivery' & should they deem them faulty they will send out a replacement & there will be no refund of the postage charges, I actually queried that with them as I was gobsmacked that they expect customers to pay to return faulty items. I've had better socks & customer service from Primark! Such a shame as I have fond memories of my old socks carrying me through treks.

Not what they used to be

I'm old enough to remember when this company guaranteed it's socks as good for 1000 miles and in my experience they really were. That was back in the 1990s. I recently bought a couple of pairs of trail running socks and both disintegrated after about ten miles. Feels like they are trading on past reputation but actually selling poor quality socks.

Total waste of Money

i bought 3 pairs for myself and my partner, first pair got a hole in the toe after being used twice. the other pairs we used on a 20 mile hike and both of us came away with very bad blisters. On contacting 1000 mile sportswear i was told i could only return 1 pair out the order. When i went to do this i see that it was at a cost of £5 to me
Do not waste your money just pay for a 2nd pair of socks at half the price
So after 2 days of emails back and forth i can return 1 pair as damaged and 1 pair on the blister free guarantee at a cost of £5 to me
Please be advised these are a total waste of money and the poor after service dose not make matters any better

save your money if your after tape

save your money if your after tape , for civvi tape its bad !! got the sticking properties of the fabric plasters .. the really cheap ones , soon as you put your socks over it, it peels off totally pointless and a waste of 9 quid.

Blisters guaranteed! - 1000 mile Fusion running socks

Bought 2 pairs in prep for a half marathon a couple years ago, on a few shorter runs got a couple of small blisters. I wore them for the half marathon and got some of the worst blisters I’ve ever had!
They were banished to the back of the sock drawer until recently when I decided to try them again, I ran 5k then another 8k about an hour later. Once again I got nasty blisters!

I decided to look up 1000 miles website which says ‘Blister Free Guarantee’ so thought I’d contact them about my troubles. They said their guarantee only lasts a year and is only for 1 pair of socks per person anyway so wouldn’t help me. They suggested my trainers were a poor fit and thought I should buy thinner socks for running longer distances, even though I told them I’d had blisters on shorter runs.

I run regularly, weigh 68kg, run in ASICS trainers which I had professionally fitted at a running shop and are in really good condition. I smoothed the wrinkles in the socks out before use. I’ve run in other socks with little or no issues.

I told 1000 mile all of the above, that I was disappointed in their product and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone and they didn’t reply.

I get that I’m outside the guarantee period but I expected more from a company that has such a bold statement of ‘Blister Free Guarantee!’

I 100% do not recommend 1000mile running socks, they are THE worst socks I’ve ever run in for giving me blisters! I will not be buying another pair.

Comfy running socks

I've ordered the Run Anklet twin pack and haven't been disappointed. The padding on them is amazing and the whole ordering experience has been smooth. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing products and awesome customer service

Amazing products and truly awesome customer service. They sent me the wrong size and because I had a charity walk the next day they couriered the replacement socks to me same day. That must have cost them a fortune but they could not have been nicer about it. No attempt made to try and wriggle out of it just a heartfelt apology and a genuine desire to get the socks to me. Truly astounding service and attitude...again the socks are amazing too.
