No longer an Argos fan.
Up until today I would probably have recommended Argos. I previously have only have ordered small items, but they failed miserably today something bigger, a fridge freezer. I was left with a huge package in the wrong room (kitchen seems self-evident, sitting room not so much). And left under a ceiling lamp which made removing the packaging near impossible. In spite of the package carrying a warning label saying two people required to lift - it clearly didn't matter to them that they had effectively left me without a fridge and unable to watch tv, sit on the sofa etc. I had to bug my neighbours, and a kind person came and helped but under the packaging we found a huge dent in the appliance. Argos and others apparently leave removal of packaging to delivery discretion - a nonsense as a quick removal of packaging would have revealed the dent. And no company should believe that it's ok to make buying larger goods impossible for anyone on their own or elderly or disabled. There isn't an option to purchase "installation" but if they put the fridge in the right room, I think my technical skills would have run to plugging it in. My sense of disappointment was compounded when the Argos helpline decided my order number didn't exist. In the end a very bored online chat person (only slightly different from the robot chat) helped with some kind of resolution. I just feel sad that the reliable source I thought I had in Argos just doesn't exist.
Terrible delivery
I ordered a fridge/freezer and paid extra for the delivery and recycling. The two men who brought it were reluctant to take the plastic drawers, saying that I could 'put them in the bin.' I said no way so they took them. They took the old freezer to the van leaving the new one fully packaged in the middle of the kitchen. The next thing I knew was they had driven off. I immediately rang them and said what about unpacking. They said they didn't give that service. It clearly states on the Argos website that large items will be unpacked and installed. I have had a refund of my delivery charge but at 79 years old and living alone that isn't going to pay for my food that should be going into the freezer. Back to AO in future.
We bought a slow cooker In December 25
We bought a slow cooker In December 25. Just two months later and used three times horrible brown marks have appeared on the aluminium.
I went on the Argos web site and followed links to start a return and found myself going 'round in circles'. So I phoned the number on the site for help. I explained the problem and was told it's normal ! I asked If I could take the cooker back to the shop where It was bought I was told I would only get referred back. I was asked to send three phots by email link. At this point I was getting fed up and gave up. I am amazed (after 30 years In retail) that a company like Argos could treat customers like this. This Is a two month old Item surely it should be covered for a year ? WE WILL NOT SHOP AT ARGOS AGAIN.
Absolutely disgusting company ordered a…
Absolutely disgusting company ordered a tv a week ago day before its delivery your order as been cancelled no explanation why you will receive a refund within 30 days so I’m supposed to go without a tv for 30 days till you decide to refund my money
Zero stars!
Zero stars! Paid for delivery, installation and recycling of a washing machine. Watched the van pull up outside my house on the scheduled day and then watched it drive away! Received a message 5 minutes later saying they couldn't access my property. Had to rearrange a delivery for a week later, had to wait in because the timeslot I originally booked no longer applied. When the 2 guys turned up, said it was delivery only, no installation or recycling! One guy was very confrontational straight away. The other guy offered to take my old machine downstairs, which i was grateful for, this was met with lots of huffing and puffing and comments from the other one. Just a really unprofessional attitude. Kept saying they were in such a hurry and then were still sat outside 20 mins later! Argos, you are very disappointing in your customer service.
I bought shark cordless vacumn today
I bought shark cordless vacumn today, very light and is good better my last Shark hoover with electric is too heavy.
Ordered something for same day delivery…
Ordered something for same day delivery didn’t bother turning up next day. I called them bright and early for them to reschedule. My delivery was meant to come between four and six. I’ve had to call them up and say the order is not here yet. They then changed it to 7 to 9. It was my best friend‘s birthday and I was relying on this same day delivery Nonsense that was talking about.
I would give them 0 stars if I could
I would give them 0 stars if I could. Customer service shocking. Im a year on into my complaint with still no contact, no resolution. You've stolen my voucher! Do not shop here at all! Unless your 100% certain you will not need to return. Becuase they do not follow legal rules! Disgusting company. Web chat is useless ive been waiting for a 24hour call back for a year. Tried in store argos who said all the info customer services have given me is false. I have the proof and screenshots. Its laughable. No head office to contact. Your a joke!
A truly appalling series of events
A truly appalling series of events which is still completely unaddressed. We ordered a range cooker on December 24th. We arranged for delivery on January 6th and paid for collection of the old appliance on the Argos website. As a Gas appliance in a tenanted property, it requires a certified Gas Engineer to disconnect the old appliance, and reconnect the new. We arranged this for the 6th, having paid for a guaranteed delivery time.
The appliance did not arrive, so I called to be told to wait as they were running late. After being on site for 8 hours, they confirmed the delivery was not coming... and could not come for a WEEK. So, the engineer had to be called back to reconnect the old appliance at my expense. A week later, after a 3rd engineer visit to disconnect the old appliance, a van showed up to collect the old appliance... with no new appliance. Unbelievable. We did not trust to let it go without seeing the new cooker.
3 DAYS later, on our third day of sitting in the property waiting, the van turned up with the cooker but, somehow, no "lifting equipment". As to how they got the cooker in the van but couldn't get it out, we have no clue.
The next day, the van returned with both cooker and lifting equipment! However they took one (a third) look at the old cooker, and said they couldn't take such a large appliance. To be clear, this is a like for like replacement right down to the make and model, so we cannot begin to understand how they didn't anticipate the old appliance would be 100cm, as the new one they were bringing was identical in size, shape and weight.
So after 4 full days off work waiting for deliveries, 4 paid Gas Engineer visits and a total of 7 days with no oven or hob for the tenants over the course of a month, we were left with both the old and new cookers.
I was originally lied to and told complaints could only be made IN WRITING to a postal address. After calling them out on this they did admit their staff are accessible by email and phone. This was an insulting lie.
I am STILL waiting for a refund of the extra engineer visits (which have been promised), as well as the old appliance collection fee which they took from me nearly 70 days ago. After some initial promising email communications, they went silent for THREE WEEKS, finally and only responding to my letter of proposed legal action after I contacted Citizens Advice. This gave them 14 days to respond and they haven't after 13 days.
I have used Argos for many years, over multiple stores for both large and small purchases. It is such a shame they have let this £639 transaction linger and fester so painfully, utterly failing to regain any respect for owning their series of mistakes.
No stars
No stars, if I could, I am off to trading standards, this company should be forced to close, selling dangerous electrical items, only a matter of time before someone looses their lives to their faulty electrical goods and they couldn't care less, supposed have collected my rubbish today, but true to their incompetence, they haven't turned up WOW

Today 26/02/2026 I went to return a phone that I am not happy with it is very slow I bought the phone on 09/02/2026 which is less than 30 days which is the legal period! The manager of Argos Kev refused to refund me the amount for the phone because it was opened and the tape was peeled off what is this policy of yours?? how should I open the box to take out the phone I am not a magician! The phone came and without being covered with a protective plastic bag for the phone it looked to me that the phone had already been returned! and if I had bought the iphone 17 pro max 512gb which is priced at £1399 ?? the next phone would have been the iphone 17 pro max but now I have given up because it means throwing my money away!! I also want to say that your manager Kev at Argos in Sainsbury's Gatehouse Aylesbury behaved very arrogantly and even told me `` leave `` is this how you train your managers?? This manager checked the Redmi A5 phone for about 20 minutes and finally decided to nag me that I had peeled off the tape on the phone box to get the phone out!! When I asked the manager Kev how to get the phone out without peeling off the tape from the box, he told me it's not my problem, I hope you can help in this dispute!
To try and get in touch with Argos is…
To try and get in touch with Argos is impossible.
They keep asking you to press numbers and in the end hang up on you.
They sent me £8 off email if I spent £80 and this voucher expires tomorrow but when I try to redeem it - it says already expired.
So frustrating.
Damaged bed check items before assembly
Tried to get in touch with argos customer services and was unable to do from there stupid ai app and just kept getting cut off after a minute or so telling me to go to a chat line,
I don't want to talk to chat line I want a real person,
The habitat bed you sold me is damaged and argos have tried to cover it up by glueing it back together,
It's on the headboard and when I put the dowell in the broken peice come out with a lot of glue that had been holding it together so really not happy with them at trying to decieve a customer,
So before trying to assemble your product make sure you check your items thoroughly or you could be left like me with a damaged product
Kept saying they tried to deliver item
Kept saying they tried to deliver item, never once showed up/tried to contact number given.
No delivery, Very poor
Very poor, If I could give zero stars I would, high value item not delivered on the specific date booked on their system, they also use a chat assistant which is pointless with no real customer care. Will never use Argos again.
Placed order online
Placed order online, for 2 bookcases, told the driver we are missing boxes, he definitely said no and to contact customer service if any problem and drove off. Called customer service and tried to get replacement parts...said out of stock. This is an absolute JOKE!
No order delivered
Placed a click and collect order and the order never got delivered supposedly. Tried to contact them via Chat - complete waste of time and the Chat hung up without a resolution. Now received an email stating a refund has been generated as the items were never delivered.
Will shop elsewhere as no customer service. Bring back the old Argos
Argos should really be shut down
Argos should really be shut down, there website is full of false advertising they sell you 1 thing and another item turns up they have been investigated by asa before yet still commit false advertisement they do not allow true unbiased reviews, I recently purchased an Oral B IO9 in Rose quartz Luxe but twice in a row they sent me aqua marine.
I also checked put air purifiers and one of them just said "phillips air purifier/humidifier" without a model number or name, I checked the questions and the person who answered stated it was 1 model however the image on the website showed a different product so I asked a question and another person told me it was a different item yet again which is ridiculous for a country wide retailer argos needs investigating badly.

They signed up for Ebay click and collect service but staff almost always fails to scan the parcels. Without scan no collection email comes. Why sign up for something and not do it.
