Very pleasant guy. He explained that repairing the chip would not make it disappear completely which I understood but when he was done it looked absolutely no different at all. I questioned this as my car was being Mot the next day but was told they would be able to see it was repaired. It did pass the MOT with the chip but only because it wasn’t directly in the driver’s line of sight with the chip being an advisory

All staff were friendly and provided an excellent service. The whole process took less than an hour, very efficiently done.

Extremely disappointing experience with Auto Windscreens in Reading.

My original windscreen replacement appointment was cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice because they had apparently ordered the wrong windscreen. I then had to call them myself to rearrange the appointment.

The original booking was for a home visit. When I rebooked, I was initially told the replacement could no longer be done at home and that I would have to take the car to the Reading depot. After further discussion, I was then told they could come to my house after all, so I arranged everything around that.

On the day of the appointment, I received a call from the technician asking why I wasn’t at the Reading depot. I explained that it had been booked as a home visit. He told me that it wasn’t booked as a home visit and that they couldn’t do the replacement at my house or at the depot because it was now too late. I was therefore forced to reschedule yet again, wasting another day and more of my time.

A few weeks later, I finally got another appointment, this time at 3pm. When I arrived, I was told the job could take around 2½–3 hours. I then found out that they actually had the appointment down as being at 4pm, despite what I had been told when booking it. I ended up waiting nearly three hours.

The whole experience was incredibly frustrating. The information kept changing, appointments were incorrectly recorded, and nobody seemed to take responsibility for the mistakes. It felt like I was constantly having to rearrange my plans because of their errors.

There seems to be a serious lack of communication and organisation, and the amount of time they wasted was completely unacceptable. Extremely unhappy with the service and I would absolutely not use Auto Windscreens again if I had a choice. Unfortunately, I had no choice in this instance because the repair was being arranged through my insurance company’s preferred repairer.
