The Antivirus is kind of annoying
The Antivirus is kind of annoying, because of the pop-ups all the time and when it tells you you have problems on your PC, it says basically: "Gimme your money". The fact it wants 25$ or something like that is wild, for a yearly subscription though - its not bad. I would rather stay with free version, since it will clean everything up at some point (i think)
Avast gets the job done
Avast gets the job done. It may have a lot of pop-up ads, but it's worth it for the great quality of their service.

Paid for Protection, Got Air
I had the paid version of Avast Security installed last year after hours of struggling but eventually with help from their support....or so they made me believe.
They told me everything was fully installed and working fine.
But ever since, I kept getting pop-ups saying my laptop wasn’t secure, suggesting I subscribe or start a trial. That made no sense, because I thought I already had full coverage.
I contacted their help center at the time, and they assured me to ignore the pop-ups, that everything was okay. They were in my account, had my order number, and confirmed from their side that the download was complete and my device was protected.
I trusted that and didn’t check further.
But today, as I canceled my subscription before renewal, I saw on their website that the software still hadn’t been downloaded.
🤷
Yet when I reached out to support, I was told I hadn’t been charged, even though I had the payment right in front of me!!!
But if I wasn't charged, then why did I receive and email to renew my subscription 🤨
Then came the excuses:
suddenly, the pop-ups were because I hadn’t bought the right package, completely different from what they told me last year etc etc.
I didn't even mention VPN.
(Which they told me last year was included in the package I bought last year, so no need to mention that now I thought)
But out of the blue, to my surprise she did.
And told me I never had VPN because it was a separate product,
again contradicting earlier information. 😵💫😡
When I said all of this was unacceptable and I wanted a refund, because clearly I had paid but never successfully downloaded or used the product, they cut off the conversation.
And I was abruptly thrown out of the chat! 😳
Now I can't even access my account.
On the site in my account it says I have no subscription, even though it was supposed to be valid until May 22, 2025.
Very strange....
I want to warn others:
even if support says it's downloaded, double-check your account to make sure it really is. Otherwise, you might pay for a full year and end up with nothing.
I paid for air !!!! 😡
Completely misleading experience, poor communication, and untrustworthy service.
Oh and impossible to send them an email. Which is a HUGE 🚩🚩🚩

I was bombarded with pop ups notifying me of my system being infected...yadda yadda... Yesterday, I submitted payment for AVAST PREMIUM which covers 1. Operating system, 2. Viruses and malware,
3. Advanced issues and 4. Performance issues (20 outdated drivers.) Total for both packages $33.48/1yr and $21.99/1 yr. My bank held the payments for some unknown reason and since I didn't discover it until this evening...(currently 10:17pm EST) bank is closed. I will check it first thing tomorrow and see why it was held up. The funds were in the account to cover both purchases.

POP UPS
POP UPS, POP UPS, POP UPS. Constantly trying to upsell their products is infuriating. You close one window down and another pops up. As soon as my subscription is up, I'm jumping ship.

download at your own risk
Once on your computer the software is nearly impossible to remove. I have tried to simply uninstall all the software but I have not been successful. Constant pop up reminders and ads that do not go away

TOO MANY "POP-UPS" TRYING TO SELL ME UPGRADES, ETC. REALLY ANNOYING...WHEN I AM USING MY PC FOR WORK!
Too many pop ups to force us to buy new…
Too many pop ups to force us to buy new stuff and no full package to be once and for all equiped.
Also afaik this Czech company was acquired by a US company which makes it a potential a threat for our data. I would not buy Kaspersky and now Avast pauses the same kind of problem.

Nonstop pop-ups
I deleted it because the pop-ups were nonstop, no matter what I turned on or off! The pop-ups just wouldn't stop! It’s insanely frustrating when you’re trying to concentrate, and they keep interrupting you with useless notifications, trying to force you to pay. No, I won’t pay for this!

Very Pleased
I've used Avast for years and have been very pleased. Does exactly what is supposed to do, no crazy ads or pop ups.
Avast amasses money for nothing
Avast is just another pop up whenever advert. It doesn't really stop hackers from getting into your system.

Very good at blocking pop ups,
will definitely renew the premium subscription when it expires.
I changed the rating and added two stars because I discovered that it offers me a free VPN on my mobile and after some settings I made the pop-ups improved. In addition, it offers immediate risk detection and has saved me many times even before I went premium and was a donor. Sorry Avast and thank you for the protection you have offered me for many years now
Good protection, poor experience
Good protection, but my god how annoying can you make all the commercial upgrade offer pop-ups to click away every single time you boot... This is the age of user experience Avast people!!!

Avast Free Edition is easy to use
I find Avast Free Edition easy to use, reliable, and I can rest assured that my computer is safe. The only problem with Avast is the constant pop-ups to upgrade to a paid edition--several times a day, which is very annoying. BUT, other than that, I am confident that the Free Edition is doing a good job.

Trusted but intrusive and alarmist
Overall it seems to be protecting me well and is relatively light compared to some other similar products. I've used Avast for many years as my free AV solution. I do find the consistent big red warnings annoying when I usnderstand they really aren't as big an issue as they claim (tracking cookie for example). It gets 3 stars because 1. it's intrusive with boxes that pop up over the top of your work and 2. It's alarmist. A tracking cookie isn't a cause for alarm it might be an orange light, with an explanation. Many of the warnings are trying to get you to pay for it. When I first started using it, Avast was a 5 star product where it provided you with great AV and malware protection, but did not hound you to buy a product. I ended up buying it then.
Now I don't trust that it's actually telling me what is OK and what is bad. Everything's bad!

I used to really love Avast. Now I am done. Due to constant pop ups.
I used to really love Avast. I went premium few times and bought avast clean up as well. Recently Avast became extremely annoying to a point to be considered ad-ware. It has constant pop-ups about buy this, your premium will expire-extend it, discount on this, your coputer is not safe without that. Extremely annoying to have all these pop-ups every time. It got to a point, that I will probably uninstall avast once my current subscription expires.
