Please see previous but may I add that as an older person, I find loading the soft ware onto my PCs and phones complicated and even now, I am not sur eit is all correct

SICK AND TIRED OF AVAST POPUPS
I am sick and tired of your pop ups appearing on my machine. I've used your Avast clear tool and yes it stopped your ads under your name but now I have a nameless ad popping up. I decided today to press on it and yes it's you. It's a complete intrusion and if I could do something legally about it I would. You may have a good product but after this completely unasked for interference I would never buy one of your products or recommend you. It's disgraceful behaviour.

The VPN is ok
Unblockable spam. The VPN is ok, not great, not awful, just ok. The reason it gets 1 star is because they are going to spam you. Unblockable popups. "Buy this product" even when the setting for this kind of thing is disabled. When you go to ask how to disable them you will get messages like "The pop-ups you’re seeing are part of our system’s effort to guide you toward a more secure network environment. While they may seem unexpected, they’re actually designed to enhance your safety and connectivity." If you want to pay for popups on your desktop then sure, go ahead.

Watch out for the upsells
The Avast Anti-Track has been nothing but a pain. Constant pop-ups interrupting whatever I'm doing, most annoying is when I am working in Word or Excel and get a pop-up. This continues to happen even after I uninstalled the app.

You just charge people without asking? You bug the heck out of customers with your pop ups. It's annoying

Good
Well, it's free and unlike others it is free even after 1 month so that's good.
If you are worried about pop ups then you can just turn them off in settings.

There is so much to praise about avast…
There is so much to praise about avast free antivirus and very little to criticize.
Pros:
Can be installed by ninite (so hands free).
Can turn off advertisement pop ups.
Can create a rescue usb to scan your computer while the os isnt running.
Can password protect settings.
Lots of options for how to scan.
Can install a free firewall.
Isnt Russian. (I wouldnt get Kaspersky for this reason. Hacking is a goverment 9 to 5 over there. No joke.)
Virus definitions are updated daily.
Cons:
The same Avast antivirus engine is used in avira and AVG because they are all owned by the same company which makes them a bigger target to circumvent.

Good product that I have been using for over 15 years. A little bothersome with pop-up notifications but they can be easily ignored if busy. If anyone asks about computer protection Avast is what I tell them I use.
GREAT, free & subscription
(+) FREE, effective.
(+) Paid subscriptions are phenomenal.
(-) Both: Too many Avast pop ups for upgrade subscriptions.

I have this virus protection but it does not stop annoying MacAfee or Avast pop up advertising which is difficult to remove the popups

Reliable and User-Friendly Guardian
I've been using this antivirus product for a while now, and I'm satisfied with its performance. It does a good job of protecting my PC, providing a robust shield against various threats without being overly intrusive.
One of the most significant advantages is how discreet it is. Unlike other antivirus software I've used, this one isn't constantly bombarding me with annoying ads or pop-ups, which makes for a much more pleasant computing experience. The interface is also user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to navigate and manage my security settings, even for someone who isn't particularly tech-savvy.
Overall, this antivirus solution has left me with a very positive impression. It's effective, unobtrusive, and simple to use, making it a highly recommended choice for anyone looking for reliable PC protection.

The only negative I have with Avast is the constant barrage of 'Up-Sell' emails/pop ups.
I was able to navigate (with some difficulty-by design I imagine) to silence the notifications.
Other than that the program is excellent.

Avast seems to provide adequate protection from viruses and mal ware. But I find help and clear directions hard to come by. The main complaint I have is the constant barrage of come-ons and solicitations that show up as pop ups nearly every time I get on line. I have twice unknowingly signed up for some additional coverage, and I still don't know how to include my phone in my plan.

Worth it but Overbearing
Avast Free Antivirus is an app that every computer needs, so you can live with the peace of mind knowing your files and data are safe. The app does its job well; however, it frequently gives you pop-ups, which really encourage you to upgrade to the paid version.
Haven't Payed A Dime
The free versions works great but you will get a ton of pop ups for the subscription. Overall it works great and protects my laptop.

It's just full of pop-ups and hard sells. The product itself, I think, is good, but no one likes to be spammed about other products. I will find something else next time.

Lots of annoying ads inside Avast products. Avast products pop up on the screen mainly to advertise other Avast products. This is annoying.
