Faulty sofas

We bought 2 sofas from dfs just over a year ago. Within weeks the cushions covering the arms of both sofas had gone completely flat and out of shape. ( I believe somebody else has written a similar review). When I eventually got a service manage to come and assess he told me that I wasn't plumping them up well enough and that every night before going to bed I should hit the hell out of them to get them back into shape!! Really?? Fine if you are young fit and healthy but what if have disabilities or simply don't have the time to pummel your sofas every night? Disgusted. Will never be buying from dfs again

There sofa is rubbish

They are very dishonest. I bought a corner sofa from them 1 of the piece was made to a low standard and the height is shorter and the rest. The cushion in the chair is less than the rest. Is either dfs sort this out or I am taking this matter as far it will get. What rubbish

DFS insurance is naff

I bought a corner sofa from DFS in 2013, it was sold to me as being high quality leather but it's fell to bits 3 years in, when it was supposed to last at lest 10 years. My first complaint was about five months later when I noticed the sofa going down, the leather straps (rather than springs) were weak and the leather was cracking.

When I tried to claim on the insurance they claimed the DFS service man could only given two hours to attempt to repair it and take it away. I did not receive this service. When I rang DFS customer service Coventry, they insulted me and implied I neglected/destroyed my sofa on purpose by not cleaning it every day and fluffing it every day, when a service man told me before to clean it less! Which is a direct contradiction to what I was told before.

I am very dissatisfied with DFS and would not recommend them to anyone.

NEVER AGAIN

I must have been absolutely mad to make a purchase from this company. We went into the Maidstone branch to look at sofa's on sale, on entering the store we were greeted by a salesman...all good...as we knew which sofa we wanted I mistakenly thought the whole process would take less than an hour. The only problem was that the salesman disappeared never to be seen again and after waiting for just over an hour, we went in search of someone who could help..no joy...and eventually a young girl wandered up to us and said "Sorry, we are too busy to help you, come back on another day'???? Seriously???? On exiting the store...low and behold but a salesperson having a chat with a mate about horse boxes!! Anyway after getting home and having cooled down somewhat, I thought I would order to sofa online...all good. I wrote to customer service explaining the shocking service from Maidstone and was assured that the matter would be dealt with and that I would not have to have any further dealings with that branch. Well today is delivery day...expected delivery between 08:00 and 11:30...it's now 13:58 and NO SOFA. I called their customer service number and was rerouted to another department as they were TOO BUSY.. to take my call...this was starting to sound horribly familiar. Anyway the chap assured me that he would pass my query onto customer service and get someone to call me back....duh...of course that did not happen. So I called again and was told by their HQ Customer service to call the MAIDSTONE BRANCH, who would in turn get in touch with the driver etc. etc. So spoke to someone at MAIDSTONE who says nope can't help you call this number and someone there will help you. Called the number and was told we will get the drive to give you a call.....STILL WAITING...!!! DFS if you seriously think this is any kind of customer service then YOU ARE WRONG. So much for the excitement of getting a new bit of furniture...If you want to keep your sanity and composure...DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Very poor After Sales Care.

Sofa delivered in part opened and ripped polythene. All cushions unwrapped and dirty and the feet are missing!! When I reported this to the Torquay Store they were off hand and told me to bring the cushions into store but agreed after some persuasion to send someone out. The cushions were cleaned and he agreed to order new feet. 2 weeks and several phone calls later I still have no feet. I was not put through to the store manager when I rang to complain as he was "in a meeting" and would call me back in 5 minutes. 3 hours later I am still waiting for his call back!
The worst thing is that no one I have spoken to so far has made any attempt to give a simple apology. I have spent £1,000 on a sofa with no feet that was delivered in shop soiled condition!
I am very disappointed and will not be recommending DFS as I have before. It's very sad that a company I have used many times appears to have such bad customer service when they get it wrong.

MISLEAD!!!

Ordered a suite 28/8/16, told it would take 7weeks to be delivered, as it was Bank Holiday Monday thw day after, the order wouldnt be placed till Tues, plus it was being made in Italy, where they were now closed for 2 weeks.due ro unforseen circumstances, i had to cancel my order on wed 31st Aug, i checked my credit agreement and had 14days to cancel this agreement, DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS !!! I was told, yes i could cancel the credit agreement, but would still have to pay for the suite as the order.....strangely....had already been placed and was in the process of being made???? so someone is lying, either the salesman or the manager! Either way i am totally disgusted at how i have been mislead into thinking i had 14 Days to cancel, and by cock n bull story about it already in the process of being made! I will NEVER deal wirh DFS again, nor will i ever reccomend them to anybody! Probably spent £10.000 over the years! The credit agreement is NOT worrh the paper its printed on!! DISGUSTED!

Flat Seat Cushions

I bought my 2 seater Boom sofabed and one chair 2.1/2 years ago which is quite some time, but as a single person with another room which I use, my suite is like new. It still looks in showroom condition. Now, due to recently being diagnosed with a terminal illness, I am using my suite more and the seat cushions on the sofa have become flat and uncomfortable as I can now feel the frame of the bed through them. A guy from DFS came today and informed me there is nothing DFS can do about this even though the cord material on the cushions has stretched and the inners to the seat cushions have gone flat. I told him I am insulted that I will have to go to another company for better cushion fillings or I sew the cushion material to make the cushions smaller which will make the filler plumper and he said I would have to do it.

I also paid an additional £125 insurance which obviously means naff all and it would appear is money for old rope as far as DFS is concerned.

Worst delivery service ever

The driver rang me on his way over and said im sure your sifa wont fit without even seeing my property. He then asked if i lived on the ground floor or 1st floor,i told him 1st floor. He came through my door no greetings.measured the wall and without even attempting to offload the sofa from the van,he suggested well if yu desperately want the sofa..break your windows thats the only way to get it in..im sure doors in the UK have the same standard measurements suitable fo sofas..my experience with this delivery man from the romford branch is the worst ever..i have had a bigger sofa..corner group which managed to fit through my door without any issues.

Mis-sold care protection plan

I've been mis-sold care protection plan and couldn't amend the order in any other way than having the new paperwork sent to my by post, sign it and sent back. This delayed the initiation of the production process by at least two weeks. Shocking service.

We're reasonably happy. genuine review 6 months later

We ordered the revive sofa was cheap as chips, we paid approx £260 plus postage. So wasn't expecting too much. Because it was cheap we decided to add the extra arm caps and easy glide.

Up to delivery they were very prompt on texting us with details on date time. Delivery was late BUT driver was calling to let us know exactly what was happening. Very apologetic.

He set up sofa and took away wrapping so was happy.

When I set up the arm caps I noticed a very small hole in one. I called them immediately and was advised to send a sample of the fabric to the store. Within 3 weeks we had a new pair of arm caps. I was very happy with this.

6 months later. Our toddler spilt fresh orange juice on the sofa. I washed the covers on a delicate wash and they came out great. Not sure I would do this on a regular basis as it was very tight to get the covers back on.
We do plump and swap the cushions every day this has made sure the sofa has remained as new condition. It's really comfortable. Sometimes the bottom cushions do slide forward a bit. It hasn't bobbled or stretched. Colour hasn't faded. Over all we are very happy with our sofa. Although if I was in the situation to be able to spend more money, I wouldn't spend it with dfs as I would expect more if I spent more. I don't think dfs is the place to go to. My budget for dfs would be £600. You get what you pay for. Therefore as I got one cheap I think we got money worth. Ps the easy glide are a waste of money. I did try to get my money back but no avail.

I wouldnt give 1 star if I could................

Sofa turned up completely ripped and stained in various places.

It is very upsetting to see the way the sofa had been packed with no sponge protection, not wrapped properly (with only one layer of plastic wrap) and no legs.
Considering the sofa I ordered sofa was cream, I would have expected extra care and attention with ensuring it had been packed correctly. This situation could have been avoided if the sofa had been packed correctly.

I am extremely disappointed as this was my first experience with DFS, the service I had received at the store was brilliant, the lady who had served me had answered all my questions and I had walked away really happy and positive that I had made the right decision ordering from DFS.

I received a call last week to confirm that the delivery would take place on Sunday 31st July and that the delivery driver would call on the day of the delivery to give me a rough ETA of when I would be expected to receive my order. On the day I received no call prior to them arriving - apart from a knock at the door.

Lastly, this has left me in a very upsetting situation, where I have hired a van this weekend to take my old sofa away to the skip and also I had taken the time off work for the delivery to take place. I am now left with no sofa meaning I have minimal furniture and nothing to sit on.

I made a complaint to the store and never received any updates other than when I called to chase them.
Yesterday, I received a call from the general manager at the Brentford store where I brought my sofa who offered me the damaged sofa back less £55 delivery charge! What! He then followed on to say, if I don't accept that he would cancel my order!
After this call, I called customer services for some help and was promised a call back this morning between 9-10am - AGAIN.....NOTHING!

Furthermore, I am overly disheartened that DFS did not conduct any quality checks on my order before it was released.

Completely unhappy and very upset with this situation.

Extremely Poor Quality for the price

Extremely disappointed with the quality of the Sofa and cuddle chair we ordered. After just 4 months the cushions look awful, flat and lumpy.
I wish we were able to post photos because it would put you off and stop you from making the same mistake!
Our brand new sofa resembles a sofa which looks 10 years + old. Not what you would expect considering the 3 seater and chair retails at £4k . The aftercare service was appalling, not a single response to any of my e-mails, no one ever calls back, basically once they have the sale they are not interested. In the end we had to pay additional money for a better quality infill - yep that's right, you need to pay extra for quality it doesn't come as standard! then we had the pleasure of waiting 10 weeks for the infill's to be delivered (the sofa only took 3 weeks to arrive) we were told at the time of placing our reluctant order that delivery would take 4 weeks. Again once they took our money followed by zero communication, 10 weeks later we were still e-mailing (no response) and trying to contact the store for information on the whereabouts of our order. At one point we were told it was lost and that's why they haven't contacted us! the next week we rang again and it was found...but still not delivered!
Never again would I consider DFS and would warn against anyone purchasing a sofa from them, more so for the poor standard of customer service and aftercare. I wish I read these reviews/experiences before purchasing from DFS as this seems to be a common theme! there is nothing more soul destroying when you part with such a large sum of money and get stuck with a such a poor quality product.

DFS there a joke

If I could get a lower score I would put that on here, in fact I score them a minus 10 I had a delivery time slot for Saturday the 23/7/16 between 8am and midday, but was still waiting after midday, so made a call but got told they rescheduled for between 2-3pm but it's now 3.30 pm and still waiting, they turned up at 5-30 there a joking and after this I'm never going to enter or buy anything from DFS. What a joke they are. You can check the product until you have payed for it, then they bring it in another joke, didn't tell you that in the store, when we di get it in and removed the packaging we found that the main sofa had a tear on the under side and the foot stool hadn't been put together correctly, so now we have to have someone come out to repair it as they will not replace it, you wouldn't buy a new car and it come with a dent in it and they put filler in it they would replace it, they say it was made in uk, another joke, so DFS you have lost my custom and I will not recommend your store to any one. Plus I'm still waiting from head office to contact me, so overall your a joke.
