Can I give them a no stars? shambolic outfit avoid

They are a complete and utter shambles. Took 4 months to organise an installation date, they then didn’t turn up, numerous calls and emails to rearrange, only installed part of the installation the next time, bird netting came off after 2 months and being chasing them for 3 months to get that fixed, been chasing for 5 months to get remaining parts of installation done and found out today that they’d been looking at the wrong contract all along. They never call back, their customer records are disgraceful, I’m not convinced that they even installed the right equipment and panels on my roof and I doubt they know if they have! Avoid them

Extremely poor customer service

I was part of the council led solar together scheme and my solar panels were installed in June. However my experience since then has been extremely poor. Firstly I had ordered an EV charger as well as a battery and neither were delivered or installed, and there has been no update on if and when this might occur. However the bigger problem is that my panels are not working correctly, and only delivering a tiny fraction of their capacity (less than 1% even in full sunlight). I've made numerous attempts to contact the company, including sending in their troubleshooting form with evidence of my problem, but after several months of patience on my part they have not still not made any attempt to reply or to come and address the problem. The customer service is extremely poor, which is particularly disappointing as it was part of a council led scheme.

I have to add my comments to all the negative reviews. We booked our installation at the beginning of the year,,Panels installed but not operative in sunny August and are still waiting in gloomy autumn for it to be completed albeit all the frustration with the cancellations fobbed off, wrong inverters, no batteries and a unsightly scaffolding erected since August. We have contacted HIES and do not intend to pay until the batteries are installed, an engineer to check the system is working according to specifications and the scaffolding is dismantled and removed from the property. They have not honoured their contract. Avoid like the plague.

The Lying GETs

Nicholas David Elbourne is the director of Green Energy Together and also Solarplicity Smart Systems Limited, which was registered to the same address. Solarplicity appointed liquidators on the 21/11/2022 and the registered address has now changed to Anglia House, 6 Central Avenue, St Andrews Business Park, Norwich. Seeing that GET have taken a lot of hefty customer deposits for work they seem either unable or unwilling to carry out it would be no surprise if GET also went into liquidation especially given Mr Elbourne's track record. I note with interest that on 15 December 2021 a new law – The Rating (Coronavirus) and Directors Disqualification (Dissolved Companies) Act (“the Act”) – came into force. This Act extends the powers of the Insolvency Service, allowing it to investigate directors of dissolved companies and, if misconduct is found, initiate disqualification proceedings against those directors. I am hoping that Mr Elbourne is exactly the type of rogue director that The Insolvency Service would like to clamp down on since he seems worthy of a 15 year ban to me. I look forward to our discussion.
We mistakenly assumed GET was a reputable company since they were proposed under a Huntingdonshire District Council, Solar Together scheme. How wrong we were!
After many months of waiting the installation date was finally approaching, we contacted the GETs to confirm the install was going ahead since comms had been poor and there was no sign of any scaffolding. They denied any knowledge of the previously arranged date so a new one was arranged. No scaffolding, no equipment, no installers showed up and no warning that the installation wasn't going to happen. Various excuses were given for several more no-shows. 'There is a scaffolding shortage in your area' the GETs said.
With an electrician on standby to fit an EV charger and not wanting more delays we told them to give us the scaffolders' details so we could arrange that part ourselves. After an interesting call to the scaffold company it transpired that they refused to do any more work for the GETs because they hadn't been paid for months. So I guess anyone in The Hunts area who's install required scaffolding just wasn't going to get the job done.
Confronted with their lie, the GETs then said 'oh no, we use a Peterborough company now'. So we phoned the new scaffold company and they said that by a weird coincidence they had just been asked to quote for 4 or 5 properties including ours but there was no sign of the quote being accepted even though it was within budget. With the install 'imminent' (ha, ha) and not wanting any more excuses we paid for the scaffolding ourselves.
Predictably the installers didn't show again and there was no communication that they were not going to turn up. We contacted the GETs again (by this time we had a direct number), 'difficulty getting supplies from Europe' they said, 'no inverters, no batteries, no solar panels'. So I am guessing they didn't book the scaffolding themselves because they knew fulwell they had no intention of carrying out the installation but just didn't have the honesty to tell us.
Last I heard the kit was stuck in Rotterdam Port, maybe it will arrive next week.
We contacted the GETs for our deposit to be returned and of course they were obstructive but we will get it back and the credit card company are on standby to take action if required. We are also pursuing them for a refund of the scaffolding costs.
Strangely, Green Energy Together still boast HIES accreditation even though they bring the scheme into disrepute. We have contacted HIES to complain and will be seeking to get them struck off. In fact there are a whole host of accreditations on the GET webpage so if I have time I will be contacting all of these organisation starting with the NICEIC to justify why they back this company. I would encourage others who have had apalling experiences at the hands of this company to do the same. And if anyone has given Green Energy Together a 1 star review then surely HIES deserve a similar review for continuing to back them and Solar Together deserve a bad review for coordinating this mess and recommending them.

Terrbile cowboy outfit

Terrible, steer clear - cowboy outfit.
I booked them via a Richmond Borough Council scheme, as I thought this meant they were trustworthy. After over year and a half, numerous phone calls, hours of waiting on hold and no replies from thier so called 'directors' no solar panels were ever installed. In fact, I discovered on one telephone call that they never even had the parts to install them. I paid a deposit of over £1,000 which they refused to return, but as I was somewhat wary of them I paid via my credit card. So I reached out to my card issuer and got my money back via the consumer credit act.

AVOID this company at all costs

If I could give 0 stars I would.

From start to current situation this company has been a total shambles. DO NOT USE THEM!

The survey done for a solar installation on my property later turned out to have flaws relating to panels being in shade, resulting in no panel optimisers being included. This was pointed out by the installers.
The initial contract was incorrect and it proved almost impossible to communicate with the company to address this. They do not answer the phone, they do not return calls, and they do not reply to emails.
Installation was finally arranged but sadly the date turned out to be our Queen's funeral so in this case, re-arrangement was expected.
The day before the re-arranged date, having made arrangements, cleared installation locations etc, an email was received sayingg installation would not take place due to kit not being delivered and no scaffolding. Another date was agreed.
No kit or scaffolding arrived in advance of this date and despite the email saying please contact GET if nothing arrived, it was impossible to get through to them or communicate in any way.
On the day of installation, nothing had arrived and noone turned up with no prior communication.
In trying to call them, and being on hold (again), I drove the 45 minutes from home to their office in Ware. I was still on hold when I arrived.
I met with their customer services manager face to face for a civil and pleasant meeting where installation was promised in 2 days time.
In two days time, nothing had arrived, and noone turned up until 11am, with little kit and no clue of what was needed. From that point onwards, a 2 day installation became 5 days or different people turning up with little knowledge of the requirements, having to go to the GET warehouse to collect kit and making apologies for the logistics. The installers themselves were as helpful as they could be, and were clearly hampered by the same poor logistics and communication their customers experienced. Several mentioned they were contractors who had not been paid since starting with GET.
On the 5th day of installation, having had to stay at home through this time (me or my wife), the panel installation was completed. No battery storage was available and I am now in an infinite cycle of no information, no communication, and chasing to find out what is going on. I was promised communication on the panel optimisers which has not happened and I have had to chase this up, again, battling with endless time in hold queues and no answers when I finally was able to talk to someone. paperwork on installation is promised on payment of invoice, which I did immediately but no paperwork has appeared.

Shame on Cambridgeshire Council for selecting and endorsing a company such as this. There was clearly no due diligence, and a brief inspection of company house history, director data etc reveals that the people involved have been doing this extremely badly for a long time. I even know of someone who warehoused their goods when they operated under a different name, and won a courtcase against them for non-payment of rent.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. This company is incapable of communicating or delivering, and if you choose them now, I strongly suspect you will loose your deposit. They are a complete and utter shambles.

Just to add…

After a huge amount of chasing and the discovery of some exposed and potentially dangerous wiring which needed immediate fixing, I finally got my hand over paperwork. GET have completed my customer statement on the paperwork themselves, saying how I was happy with the installation and giving them a 10/10 score. Unbelievable!! What a bunch of shysters and charlatans!

get a refund

We have had similar appalling experience to others regarding this company. I would urge others to use the HIES scheme (GET is a member at the time of writing) in order to get any monies paid returned. We had very helpful advice from them and thankfully have had our full deposit returned to us today. It took 6 weeks to acheive this.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Constant Contract Breaches - DWMPDO0015

Reference DWMPDO0015
Started process in July 2022. After lots of back and forth and chasing I was eventually given an install date of 3rd October. Section 2.1.1 of the contract stated: "We will inform you in writing of the name of any contractor engaged by us to undertake the installation of your system and we will take full responsibility for their work and their compliance with the Consumer Code.". They did not do this.

3rd October comes, engineer turns up and then realises GET never booked a scaffolding company, yet they still sent an engineer. After waiting around for hours the engineer is then sent elsewhere and I am told a new date of 31st October.

I phone a few days before the 31st to ask if scaffolding had been booked to ensure this doesn't happen again. I am told they have reassessed since the failed installation and they will send "a specialist team that doesn't require scaffolding to install". They then send the same engineer who can't install without scaffolding. I then receive an email saying the company were unable to book a scaffolding company, so I have been lied to. This is clearly another breach of contract, as in section 2.2.4 it states 2.2.4: "You will be entitled to compensation if we cause significant or unreasonable delay due to factors within our control.".

I email them all of the above and they ignore it, sending another email booking in for November 15th. I phone them almost every day the week before to try and make the install happen and yet again they do not book scaffolders. They tell me every day on the phone someone will call me back with scaffolding details and they never call me.

I have requested answers as to why I was lied to, and more information on their breaches of contract but they refuse to reply. I have now requested a refund and am waiting to hear back.

They say all calls are recorded so they should be able to find who lied to me in October. Names of staff I have had contact from via email are Joanne Clark, Operations Administrator, and Louise James, a "Customer Champion". I believe they were talking to a Michelle in the Installations team.

Worst Company I have ever dealt with - Avoid at all costs

If I could give this company Zero stars, I would. I have just had my third installation date cancelled. In total I have lost 6 days leave with failed installations and no shows from scaffolding companies.

The customer service is non-existent. I was promised and assured by a customer service manager by email that the third installation would go ahead without issue. No scaffolding two days before the installation but the company assured me it would be with me the day before installation.

We were only informed about the third cancellation when we contacted them. We then received a cut and paste email offering £75 compensation. This is the second offer of the compensation but when I have previously requested compensation for the 1st failed installation, I was told by a customer service manager that I would be getting nothing.

I was promised a call back from the company's director and as expected, this has never materialised.

If you need to call customer services, unless you call at 9am, expect to wait on hold for over an hour. My record for waiting is 3 hours.

Deposit was paid in April 2022 and they are now offering a 4th installation for 20th December. They constantly blame lack of scaffolding but refuse to provide me with the scaffolding company details.

It seems they are more than happy to hold my deposit and waste my annual leave with zero empathy.

Local MP, Local council and Trading Standards are all now informed as this company should never have been allowed to run the local solar panel installation project by the council.

This is the second poor review I have submitted. My last review did receive a reply asking for my reference number but then failed to respond or do anything.

I have sent numerous emails to managers and the general mailbox, all that never receive a response.

When I asked to speak to the operations manager this morning, I was informed that she was in a meeting. I stated I would hold as nobody ever calls me back and I was told that they have a 5-day manger call back process. Totally unacceptable.

Appalling customer service

This has been the worst customer service I have ever received. It took 10 months for them to fail to install any solar panels in my house, despite hours waiting on the phone to try to speak with someone. Having cancelled my order, it has taken a further two months to get my deposit back (still waiting). There is no way to contact anyone who can actually help. Whilst waiting for my refund, I have found another supplier and had panels installed without problem. Please avoid if you can.

Never go to these thieving sharks.

It's been over a year since we should have had everything installed. Still no batteries.

They promise a date. They don't turn up.

They don't answer calls. They don't reply to emails.|

They just take your money.

Avoid. You are better off throwing your money at high fuel bills than spending it with these dirty charlatans.

I'm taking them to court to get our money back. I hope others do too.

Unreliable, poor service and incompetent

Green Energy Together have now failed to deliver on four successive occasions. I signed up to have solar panels with them back in early 2021 and their surveyor came and did the survey in September 2021. The first date for the installation was in late February. That was cancelled and we were given a date in early April. Also cancelled, and we were given a date in late May. When this one was cancelled, we were told it was because they had realised they needed a pavement permit for the scaffolding (which the surveyor had know the previous September). I spoke to them in June, had a cheery call, and they said they wanted to give me an installation date. Great, I said, have you got the pavement permit? Got the what? - came the response. I explained the situation, and they agreed we couldn’t fix dates until they had got the permit and would be in touch. I called again on 7 October to find out how they were doing. They said they had the permit so we agreed to fix an installation date, for this week – 8-10 November. I called again on 4 November to check all was well, and was told yes, all set for installation, and they confirmed again that they had the permit. I called again on Monday 7th to ask when the scaffolders would arrive, and they said they would look into it. They called back mid afternoon to say the scaffolders couldn’t come because they have found out they need a pavement permit and they haven't got one! They confirmed that they would now be applying for the permit, but I have heard that before. I asked for written confirmation and she said that would be emailed to me before the end of the day. Four days later, no email. I am beginning to think that this company doesn't want the business.

If GET wants to get in touch the code is SPUK67973.

Honestly the worst company ever and…

Honestly the worst company ever and avoid avoid avoid. Still awaiting replacement batteries as apparently they're at customs and of course they will let me know when they're in to book an install. Genuinely think I will fall off my chair if they do that. Looking at the reviews on here I think it would be a good idea to report them to BBC Watchdog. I'm certainly going to as we have paid over £6000 for a system that isn't working properly and hasn't for the best part of a year.

Incompetence and poor communication

Firstly I attempted to cancel the contract due to losing faith in the reliability of the company. I was threatened by the sales person, stating that not only would they not return the deposit, but I might have incurred further costs! Intimidation I believe!
Then when they eventually turned up to istall they erected the scaffolding, messed around for 2 or 3 hours then dismantled everything and disappeared. I have failed to be able to elicit any response since. I see from these reviews, that this behaviour is par for the course. So, to date: no system and deposit return failure.

For a company that installs solar panels there's not a lot of installing going on.

I don't normally write these reviews if I'm honest but I felt I had to this time. I'm very disappointed with Green Energy Together. I registered for solar together in March22, survey in July & 2k deposit paid, so far so good. Installation date 05/08/2022 nobody turned up 3 days ringing and installation re-booked for 08/09/2022 same again, I contacted them (took forever) rebooked for 21/9/2022, this time at least they contacted me to say they couldn't install on that date so rebooked for 10/10/22, I rang 2 days before install date and was cancelled again to 11/11/22, I rang yesterday and was told they would not be coming again and have rebooked for the 13/1/2023. I suspect I will never get this job done and am not convinced my deposit is safe in their hands. Their customer services is improving, I seem to be able to get through now within about 20 mins rather than the 1-5 hours I was waiting back in August. I just want my solar panels.

Where do I begin

Where do I begin? March 2021 thats when I signed up to Solar Together as part of the Mayor of Londons initiative. I went for panels and battery. Total cost in the region of £8,000 inc VAT which has now been removed from solar installation as an incentive. Paid £150 deposit had a survey done in 2021.All good except that by October 2022 4 installation dates had come and gone with nothing to show for it. As follows: First date March 2022, no show no kit no scaffolding. No communication from their side after I called and emailed was told scaffolders had COVID. April 22, Roofers had COVID. Then offered May 2022. Didn't want May. Then looked at Trustpilot. Was shocked and scared. Contacted Solar Together and the Mayor of Londons office. They said they would help with communicating with GET and would keep an eye on the next attempt of an installation. Now September '22 attempt number 3 no show. Then given October 2022 for attempt 4 again nothing not even a weedy excuse. No scaffolding, no kit. GET offered me £75 by way of compensation for their lousy attitude towards customers. Even the mayors office being involved made no difference whatsoever to them. They gave me a date for a 5th installation attempt but by this point I was asking myself if they did turn up would I want them to do the installation? everything so far had been unprofessional and had caused me a huge amount of stress. So I ended it there and asked for a refund of my deposit. If this had been an independent direct contract with a company I would have given them one "chance" as they put it. I have just read that another customer gave them 8 chances and no installation. It would be funny if it wasn't so scary. There is no justification for GET to behave in this manner towards people who have signed up and are willing to pay for something that is responsible and ethical especially in the ongoing world situation.
(I have yet to get back my deposit.)

Problems, problems, problems!

I have had no end of problems with Green Energy Together. They have taken over the contract for Warwickshire County Council from a previous company. So far I have had to chase them all the way. They have promised to install scaffolding and panels and never turned up with no explanation. I have rebooked and they were supposed to erect scaffolding today and again no show! I have tried phoning them today and so far have not managed to get through to anyone!
I have at the moment paid them over £2000 and am beginning to wonder if I will ever see anything for this!!!!
