Poor communication and no final solution…

I have had a poor experience with Green Energy Together. I signed up to have solar batteries installed to be able to manage my energy use better. They installed in October 2021 and within five days were no longer working. To this day they have not replaced the non functioning battery. I have called and written numerous times but have been fobbed off. I have needlessly spent £3,159. Please do not use this company.

Going direct to GET is the way to go

i was recommended by a friend who was using the Bromley Solar scheme to GET (he is still waiting for his install). i have gone direct to GET in July, the quote was good, detailed and as i work for the NHS, i received a discount.
The installation started a day late due to an over run but has been installed to a decent quality and took about 3 days. There was some indecision about where the inverter was to go, but it was installed under our stairs. I have had a few changes to the positioning of the panels at my request and the install team supervised by Stuart have responded really quickly. I note that some people have had issues with the back office, i haven't. The batteries were due for delivery at the end of October, due to supply issues, and i am hoping that ours will be installed soon. I would have scored them higher if the battery was installed at the same time.

Terrible customer service experience

The customer service experience is horrendous. It's very frustrating to call for information and sit on hold for so long, to get through to an operator who cannot help. Installation on the day went okay, hence 2 starts not 1. I am almost 2 months since installation, and still not received the handover pack they promise within 2 weeks of completion. I'll not be using this company again, and will not recommend them in the future unfortunately

Dreadful experience. And not over yet.

Panels installed in April (arduous and error-strewn process) but batteries not supplied. Now November and still no batteries. Whenever I call (because they never contact customers) I’m told the batteries should arrive next month. I get this answer month in, month out - always a month away!

Your reply asks for my number so you can update me. You have had 6 months to update me but have never done so proactively and have ignored my multiple requests by email for an update. When I call your customer service they just tell me the batteries will be here in another month. Same response every time. So why not get in touch with all your customers and give them an update?

SPUK 112719 Please contact me regarding the installation of the battery ordered in November 2021 and promised in May, August, September and October, as I haven’t heard anything about when it will be supplied and installed. I was on hold for an hour today and spoke to a member of the team at 4.55 who let me know i would be contacted by Monday as the batteries were now available. I very much look forward to being given a date for battery installation.

Cancel at last minute, don't return calls, how did they get this contract with Sadiq Khan?

I was wary after reading other reviews but the surveyor and Sadiq Khan on theyworkforyou.com both claimed these were old problems and the management issues were resolved. Not true. Awful customer service, installation due in 2 days time and tried to warn them I'd had no booking for scaffolding a week ago but no reply. Called them multiple times yesterday & today and every time they stalled, call backs I was promised never happened so have spent a lot of time on hold. Finally got an email today saying my installation had been moved to late November due to 'scheduling congestion' - turns out that not only have they not organised scaffolding in time but some necessary components are not in the warehouse. Dreadful experience and wish I'd never signed up.

Avoid this company at all costs

We came to this company by via Lewisham Councils Solar Together scheme over 1 year ago. It started well enough with survey on time and agreement of suggested panel/battery system but then after the first agreed installation date was postponed it 'fell apart' - subsequent dates came and went with zero communication and when you could get through to customer services they had no idea if either the scaffold had been installed or equipment had been delivered ( neither was true) Each time I spoke to someone I was promised a call back to follow up - this never, ever happened. Often the wait to get through on the phone was several hours. I have never experienced such a poor level of customer service from a company and if this was the pre install experience I dread to think about the post install would be like. We have cancelled and are still waiting for this to be processed with a return of our deposit after 8 weeks.

Green Energy untogether!

Now waiting for fourth attempt at installation after paying large deposit in April. No batteries available since before I signed contract with them. Don’t bother ringing them it will only affect your mental health. Last time I spoke to someone at Green Energy Together they told me scaffolding had already been erected on back of my house. I told them this was not the case and was asked to send a photo to prove it! They did send a couple of engineers though with no kit, battery and of course no access to the roof. If you are considering this company please do not sign up. Shocking customer service and no reply to my recorded delivery official complaint.

why do i have to give them one star?

why do i have to give them one star? Truly hideous company that shouldnt exist. Unprofessional staff (if you can ever get hold of them) and with no care about their customers. Solar Together should be ashamed of this subcontractor they have used. We've had scaffolding up and panels sitting on patio since early june and GET have no idea what is going on. AVOID at all costs.

Appalled of Hampton- no service, no panels after over a year

I bought into this scheme in 2021 through the Richmond Council scheme. My installation has been booked at least 5 times and only on one occasion has a contractor turned up only to have to go home as nothing had arrived and no scaffolding installed so he couldn't do it anyway even if he had panels on his van.
I have never received a phone call advising me that installation had been cancelled, no communication at all which is very poor. You then can wait on the phone for well over an hour with no response and don't bother using the call back service as no-one ever calls you back. I have paid over £2k and feel that i'm going to have to sue them soon on false pretenses or do a Section 75 chargeback.
Post note (3 Nov) - Upon eventually getting through to the customer services team I was advised that they had emailed me on 30 Sept (which I found in my spam) prior to the last installation of 5 Oct to change the date to 5 Dec and offering a small credit to my final bill. I called after getting through to customer services which didn’t take long I spoke to installations and changed the date to 6 & 7 Dec, so watch this space for the next instalment which I hope will this time be positive!
I see there is a reply now to my post but am not able to see how to reply, so here’s my installation number SPUK92201

Had a 6th installation date of 6 Dec, well no surprise no parts, no contractors and no communication.

Terrible customer service

I signed up to the Solar Together Cambridgeshire scheme as I expected it to be hassle free, it has been anything but.
The initial contract didn’t include the extras I had requested and the table of savings contained figures that were clearly nonsensical. Nevertheless, I persevered and got the contract amended and paid a deposit and then things went downhill.
I didn’t receive a Deposit Protection Certificate as provided for in the contract. I contacted HIES who were supposed to be providing this and they told me that GET had not notified them of my contract.
It was only after I had verbally agreed to an installation date that I was informed by email that the battery I’d ordered to accompany the solar panels wouldn’t be available until some future date. That was annoying but more worryingly I was expected to pay for half the cost of the battery once the solar panels had been fitted even though I had no idea when the battery might arrive. Also the inverter delivered with the panels was not a hybrid inverter as I had ordered.
The scaffolding never arrived before the agreed installation date. The installation team never arrived on the agreed installation date of 11 July, no one contacted me beforehand, on the day or afterwards to say that they weren’t coming or to reschedule.
Any communication was down to me chasing GET which was far from easy as call waiting times were long and call back requests weren’t returned. In any case I might as well have not bothered because whatever information I was given turned out to be untrue, eg installation date rescheduled for 15 July (again no-one showed up and no contact or apology from GET).
Three months ago I decided to cut my losses and sent notice to cancel the contract. I had no response to the cancellation notice and GET did not refund my deposit within 14 days as they were required to do under the contract.
Fortunately I was able to get a refund from my credit card company but I am still stuck with the solar panels and equipment taking up space in my garage. Several calls to GET and I am still waiting for them to call me back to let me know when they can pick their kit up. I can only assume they don’t want it back?

Despite finally arranging to collect the equipment for the cancelled order on 14th November (4 months after the contract was cancelled) no one from GET turned up. No one had the courtesy to tell me that you weren't coming, it's now 16th November and I've still not heard anything (no apology, rescheduled collection date, etc). I can't say that I'm surprised, more of the same, failing to perform at every opportunity.

Like everyone else I have been let down…

Like everyone else I have been let down by this company, and they still fail to call back to let me know what is happening. Avoid. We paid a deposit in June, booked for 9 Sept, had to chase for scaffolding, now up. No show on 9th. I had to say I would take legal action to get a second installation booking - 13 Oct, still no show. No communications at all, and a non functional call centre. They should be on TV as the poorest company in the country for customer service....

Total unnecessary stress

Expecting our installation day after tomorrow. This is the 2nd time GET have changed the date at the last minute when we have phoned them numerous times. They have taken a substantial deposit. We placed our trust in them as believed we would have the backing of local authorities. How solar together & the mayor of Londons office can continue to wash their hands when they have a responsibility to help - morally If not legally - is ludicrous. If we don't get the installation done on Thursday we will be looking for a company who can actually deliver and not keep telling a pack of lies. We will also be asking for interest on our deposit. THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE.

Shambolic company

Shambolic company, unable to communicate effectively and unable to professionally deliver services for which are contracted for. Since being handed over by Solar Together to Green Energy Together (GET), we had to chase every single step. After paying a deposit of £2395 in August and with 3 days prior to installation of a photovoltaic system scheduled for 26th September, there was no appointment for the scaffold to be erected. On 22nd September Green Energy Together confirmed by email that the installation would go ahead as planned. Mid morning on the 26th we received an unsigned email stating that the installation had been cancelled and postponed to 11th October, at which point we resolved to cancel the contract and request a full refund. The cancellation form was sent to the required email address with Nick Elbourne (Nicholas David Elbourne), the managing director (and person with significant control of the company - as this review is published as a matter of public interest) in copy. Nick responded directly by copying their marketer (Karl G) to initiate the process. 8 days later, the refund has not been processed and no responses from Karl to our emails. This increasingly looks like a scam or a delay tactic to help GET's cashflow. For avoidance of doubt, this review relates to cancellation of contract: SPUK204202

Ignore the five star reviews. green energy together even have a news articles in the guardian saying how predatory and useless they are. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. RUN AWAY NOW.

consider yourself warned. They have been removed from trustpilot for trying to astroturf.

I have again sent a emails asking for an refund update. So far nothing, no reply, no call. After calling them a few time eventually spoke to someone and he confirmed that it was being process and needed signing off. That was over a week ago and still waiting for my refund. They do not have the common decency to call/email/message me with any sort of update.

I was told i had to fill out a form before the refund could be processed. Got confirmation on 12/10/22 that someone will contact me in 7 days. So far nothing, no call and still waiting for my refund.

I am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. I have emailed the company but had no reply from them. They were meant to email the details of my refund last Friday and as normal nothing from them. I will have to start calling them to find out what is happening. I am actually really happy I cancelled my contract with Green Energy Together, it reduced the amount of stress I was having.

24/09/2022 - Delayed installation date by two months from what I was first told. Their Customer service is a hit and miss with information although I have managed to speak to them as well as the sales person and discuss my install issues on multiple occasions over the last 2 months.

My install is due again this Friday but still no sign of the scaffolding or any of the equipment.

I have given a 2 star as the install is due this Friday so can not comment on any of the workmanship or equipment (which still has not been delivered).

So i was meant to receive the equipment and have the scaffolding setup on Thursday, install was on Friday. This was confirmed multiple time over the phone and via email, weeks and days before and on the Thursday. But sadly nothing arrived, i waited until 3pm taking a day off from work for it.

At 3pm i had given up any hope that Green Energy Together would actually delivery anything and cancelled the contract. During this whole process they only contact me a handful of times, which was done after taking the deposit. Most of these time it was to book the installation, the rest of the time was me chasing them for answers.

I feel that there is no hope with this company, they will continuously give you promises which they can not keep. Sales Reps will say 'don't believe the bad reviews', that was said to me in the very first phone call with them. I have now wasted 4 months with them, lost 2 months of solar revenue due to their internal issues and hours of my time on the phone chasing them.

Winter is now here and I have to start the search again, which will loss me even more months of solar revenue, at a time when electricity and gas cost will increase once more.

I would advise anyone to find another company or be prepared to deal with their delays and have a lot more patience than i have, I gave them 4 months.

Now i am waiting for my deposit to be returned, which they would not give me an estimated return time. This i fear will be delayed and delayed for some excuse/reason or another.

Poor design, even worse customer service

First design they provided wasn’t based on my roof, second design was closer, but got the shape of the roof wrong. one colleague arranged a call back with me for 9:30-10am this morning, then when i spoke to her at 12pm she said that her manager invited her to a meeting from 9am-11am at 7am, and that she wasn’t able to cancel our booking before the meeting as she had no access to her email. And then wasn’t able to apologise for not calling after as the meeting ran late. Repeatedly tried to claim that if I called a different number they would put me through to her manager (they wouldn’t) or let me speak to the design team (they wouldn’t). Essentially they lie to you just to get you off the phone. Avoid them!

No service or support

I have both Solar PV and a battery installed, this review does not reflect the product or installation but the customer service available afterwards.

After emailing the various addresses found on the site without reply I tried calling the support line. I've used the call back feature on both support and sales options and once stayed on for 45 minutes without moving up from "number 4" in the queue.

That is now 6 weeks without a single response, not even an automated one. Just now I thought to write a review to possibly escalate my query but have seen this is not just my experience, I now regret not doing more thorough research beforehand.

This company was recommended by the local council, following this experience I would not recommend.

DO NOT USE this company under any…

DO NOT USE this company under any circumstances.
From the minute we had handed over our deposit nothing was done on the agreed day or time and the most frustrating thing is that they are impossible to contact.
DO NOT be reassured by the HIESS assurance that they advertise because when you go to them Green Energy together refuse to engage,threatening legal involvement so HIESS are not allowed to get involved.
Steer clear and save yourself a lot of heart ache.

I want my money back

As with many reviews on here I was relying on the fact that this scheme was backed by Bexley Council and the mayor of London. We paid our £150 deposit on 2 properties in April and had surveys done in June. We were then asked for 25% to secure an installation date which we did on 17th August. We did not get a receipt or acknowledgement of these payments and I began to get suspicious, it was at this point that I saw the reviews on this page. I have since tried phoning and have never got an answer, I have emailed asking to cancel and have a refund with no reply. I have contacted solar together who have responded and said they will put our case forward but still nothing. I have contacted bexley Council who have not responded, I have contacted my MP who has tried to contact them without success. I have now initiated a charge back process with my credit card company in the hope of getting my money back. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY
