Wish I’d seen the reviews before…

Wish I’d seen the reviews before handing over a deposit. A horrible, shambles of a company. 5 months on, two no-shows for delivery, rude staff, no panels. Even when I’ve emailed the bosses there’s been no reply.

Substandard equipment with no support once it goes down.

Had the installation done a couple of months ago and it has stopped working. Called the company many times with no luck. Customer Service is not fit for purpose. Will be looking for a legal remedy against the company for the substandard equipment that was used in the installation. Avoid any installation from this company company.

Worst company ever

Can only reiterate everyone's complaints about the lack of communication, failed appointments, false promises etc. Truly shocking and yet Councils are still signing up with them?
DO NOT GET INVOLVED with this company - it'll cause you stress and lose you time and money
UPDATE: Scaffolders refuse to dismantle scaffolding (after over a month after putting it up) because they haven't been paid by GET.
Usual promises to act and reply never happen.

now since 9th September 2022 Inverter has developed problems, I have been trying to reach them it takes over and 1hr on the phone i have been calling then everday but cant get through at all, and gets transfered to different department, and then wait till call gets disconnected, i have been sending emails to relevant departments, Facebook, tweeter msgs they are not being attended and no response. WHAT A BLOODY COMPANY to deal with...

Quick to take money, unable to deliver any kind of service

Where to start... Terribly poor service so far from a company so quick to take your money.

Paid the deposit as requested, chased by GET on multiple occasions after paying to pay our deposit to be told we hadn't paid it. After 2 days the accounts team found it so we were allowed to book an installation date.

Received a letter telling us the batteries won't be able to be installed due to a shortage as we were told on paying our deposit (surprise we weren't). And we would be contacted 5 days prior to install to confirm, with scaffolding in the 7 days prior.

Install due on the Tuesday, contact them on the Friday as no scaffolding or confirmation. After a long wait on hold, they confirmed scaffolding would be erected on Monday and Installation would start on Tuesday. Cancelled 3 days of work as self-employed to allow for installation.

On Monday afternoon at 14:45 (giving plenty of time for scaffolding to be erected earlier in the day or to be contacted) I called customer services, who said there were problems with scaffolding and they were being erected the next morning, but they would confirm and get back to us by the end of the day. . I was not called back. I called back myself TWO HOURS later and was on hold for 36 minutes before being cut off, when I called back again it was straight to voicemail as the offices were now shut. This was at 17:16, the FAQ page states that lines are open until 6pm.
I called at 9am Tuesday (the installation date) to find out what was happening regarding the scaffolding today, and was told that the scaffolding company cannot come today so the installation will have to be postponed for a whole month. If there was a problem with the scaffolding as so many people seem to have also had a problem with on the recent reviews then why would they not have been aware 2 working days prior, when they confirmed it would go ahead? Surely they would have known of delays by that point.
Why after confirming does the customer have to contact them to find out if the installation is cancelled? It is a common courtesy.

Then trying to get a manager or to make a complaint is made impossible. Agents inform you the manager is in a "meeting" the entire day when calling back at 2 hour intervals and promise they will call you back in 2 hours, then by the end of the day, then after a few days is 5 working days. I think they are going for the Guinness world record of longest meeting though as no contact so far. Maybe the meeting is about how to meet the expectations they give to customers and they are still struggling. I don't know maybe be honest and manage expectations by giving realistic timelines.

We were told by an agent installation would be in exactly a month. I'm not optimistic given the current experience from this company.

Proceed with caution.

This company started off well pitching and the whole red carpet and then we paid a deposit. They wouldn't contact us and we couldn't get ahold of them to schedule the survey. Finally after a week, the call back option not working or us "not answering the calls" event though we tried all three of our phones (two personal and one work with different service providers) showed no missed calls.. odd... this was sorted out after we emailed the sales rep and we got a survey date! This should have been the first red flag.. After this on our survey day the scheduled window came and went. We called and sat on hold for more than a hour and no one picked up, angered we sent another email to the sales rep within 10 minutes someone called and informed us the technician got stuck in traffic (my parner commutes to central london from our house to kings cross driving takes 1:40 so thats a lie) and they could have a different one out this afternoon! OH BUT WAIT I work 1-9 hence why I booked it 0830-1030. They said don't worry they will be there by 1200 and it will take only 30 minutes. Odd considering the email stated it would take an hour and a half. They didn't show up u till 1240 when I was leaving for work and informed that the other technician called in sick ( wait I thought they got stuck in traffic who's lying to me again?) At this point I tell him I told the call center I needed to get to work by one. They told me you would be here by 1200 and he looked confused because he informed me there was no way he could have made it by then. On the 17th of August we requested a full refund and have yet to receive this on the 29th of August eventhough we were informed on the 18th that it would be processed and returned by the 23rd the latest. Oh and we have still yet to have a response to our emails from the following individuals Joe, Melissa, Karl, Max, Rochelle, and the support team( I can provide full names and emails but for privacy they are not provided here) intact I have followed this up multiple times and no response. So if you would like a company that lies to you, takes your money and then makes you jump through every hoop possible to get it back when they do not provide a service this is the company for you.
PDO0298 (also who puts a O next to a 0 in a reference come on)

Further issues
05/09/22: we have still not gotten our money back on day 19 and the confirmation email we got with our pdo number was incorrect it was 0308 or 0398 instead of 0298
We called again this morning and were informed that we would receive a call back this morning. As it is now 1500 this seams unlikely to happen. We informed the agent we feel Green Energy Together is in violation of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 section 20 sub section 15 and they are illegally withholding our money due to this being day 19 from requesting and them accepting our refund. We followed this up with an email to these individuals Support, Accounts, Joe, Melissa, Karl, Max, and Rochelle. We have decided to proceed on the Charge Back procedures from our bank and reporting the organization to Ofgem and the Ombudsman as it seams legal action is the only way we will get our money back.
11 September 2022: still no money back. We were told Tuesday it would be at the latest by Thursday to call back Thursday and be told it was being "actioned by the accounts department" and that's all they would tell him. I would not recommend this company.

Terrible experience - SPK 70350

SPK 70350
My experience with this company so far has been really poor.

I first agreed a contract with g-e-t in May 2021 and paid a deposit, after a survey I had an initial appointment for installation in November 2021, which was postponed a number of times until we finally had some fitters arrive in May this year.
Unfortunately not all the equipment had been delivered for the fitters to complete the job, and the scaffold was misplaced and had to be removed before the work could be completed.
After making another interim payment, a re-arranged appointment was made for August 26th this year, but they didn’t show up with no word, and I have had no contact from the company to apologise or arrange another appointment.
I have had no replies from any emails sent, and I haven’t been able to get through on your support line - I generally get hung up on after about 40 minutes wait.
I really don’t know where to go from here, but assume I’ll need to find another organisation…

We have now had three proposed dates cancelled

We have now had three proposed installment dates. The first was postponed as the panels were not available. The second and third (apparently) because there were no scaffolders.

The office is really difficult to contact. Nobody seems to know what is happening. It seems as though the whole operation is run on a shoestring.

The initial surveyor was excellent, but it has all gone downhill since. We may be considering asking for money back if this continues.

Do not use this company #4

On 4th Sept we received a reply to our various posts from Green Energy Together

If you can please provide your Unique job ID I will ensure you are contacted today and any queries regarding your installation resolved.

On 6th Sept I posted the Unique ID - SPUK106615 - and we are still waiting for GET to contact us...
The Independent has just published an article about a GET customer's experience - 'I signed up for solar panels – and my green energy dream' - which mirrors the posts on Trust Pilot yet again! When is anyone going to sort this shambolic company out?

Defective work, refused to fix, several other problems

I had solar panels, inverter and battery install at my house in November 2021 by Green Energy Together UK (GET-UK), including fitting around them a bird protection mesh, called BirdBlocker, to prevent birds getting under the panels and damaging them. During high winds in early 2022 some sections of the BirdBlocker came off completely, whilst others were partially dislodged. On closer examination, and comparing to the BirdBlocker installation instructions from the manufacturer, I found that it had not been fitted correctly in the first place by GET-UK – an insufficient number of clips had been used, the clips had been fitted in the wrong places, and no cable ties had been used.

GET-UK warranty page on their website stated "In addition to the warranty offered by the manufacturer we offer a 2 year warranty over our workmanship, and as a Home Improvement Protection Accredited Trader your home is protected against any eventuality." And yet when I contacted GET-UK to ask them to remedy the problem with the BirdBlocker they refused, saying that storm damage was not covered by their warranty, despite their warranty specifically stating "protected against any eventuality." A formal letter of complaint to the managing director of GET-UK (recorded delivery) was not even responded to. Although the work was covered by the HIES guarantee scheme, they say that the BirdBlocker is not covered and they would not help. I have had to arrange repair of the BirdBlocker myself and at my own expense.

In addition to the above costly problem, I experienced several other problems with GET-UK:

GET-UK support initially agreed to fix the BirdBlocker and sent someone. He agreed that it should be fixed, but was completely unequipped to do so, not even having a ladder that could reach the roof. He left saying he would pass all the details back to the office to get the repair organised.

I then heard nothing back for several weeks, and was unable to contact anyone in support by telephone or email. I chose the call back option on several occasions, but no one got back to me. I eventually got through to someone by going through non-support phone option, who said would try to book my repair. A little later, someone else called me back and said that she had been told by her management that the work was not covered by warranty, and that I would have to pay for scaffolding and £50 per section of BirdBlocker. I checked with some independant roofing services, and they said scaffolding would not be required to do the repair.

The design for the solar panels install by GET-UK was wrong. They stated 10 panels could be fitted, but in reality only 9 would fit on my roof. And anyway, only 9 panels were delivered on install day, so the installer wasted a lot of time trying to get the 10th panel that ended up not being required.

I wanted an in-roof system, rather than on rails. It took the sales team many weeks to get back to me with a price.

Due to larger size of the in-roof system, the design team said I only fit 9 panels in-roof or 10 on rails, so I chose the 10 on rails for more power. In the end, they could only fit 9 on rails on my roof – had they got the design right originally then I would have chosen 9 in-roof panels.

The Handover Pack took 16 weeks to arrive after completion of the install, and only after considerable chasing by phone and email; GET-UK said it would take 5-10 working days. The Handover Pack includes the MCS Certificate, which is required to get on to a SEG tariff for electricity fed into to the grid, so I was delayed from getting paid for all the electricity I was putting into the grid by GET-UK's tardiness. I was offered no apology or compensation.

Before I got my Handover Pack from GET-UK, they sent me a Handover Pack for a completely different customer, which was useless to me and a breach of GDPR law.

Overall I am very unhappy with my experience with Green Energy Together UK. The only good thing I can say about my experience is that the system was eventually installed and basically works.

Absolute disgrace of a company

Absolute disgrace of a company ~ we had numerous no show installation dates & no information from them. We have chased up via Richmond Council & iChoosr - clearly no due diligence was completed on this company.
The panels have now been installed on the 5th occasion but no battery.
We want to resolve an issue on our invoice but they won’t return our calls & voicemail is always full - and we are trying to pay them! Really appalling service
I suspect they are just winding down the business and taking everyone for a ride
Our reference is SPUK 105275 but I suspect that they won’t even look at these reviews or contact anyone- they may say on here they will because that’s the type of company they are!

No service at all.

I paid my deposit and booked in installation for the 25th July. I didn't get the confirmation they said they would send in the week before the due date, and of course they never turned up. I was concerned it was a scam - nobody answered the phone; I was "number one" in the queue for over 30 minutes(!); I eventually gave up and took the opportunity for a callback - nobody called back.

Then I looked on here and my heart sank. I thought that they'd be a reputable company, after all I was put onto them via a Cambridgeshire County Council initiative... why didn't they look here before putting work GET's way?

They eventually answered my emails, only to tell me they had no open slots until 5th September. I reluctantly agreed, I'd already started the process, had the survey, surely it was better to wait a bit. They replied that I'd been booked in for the 6th September, today.

Another day off work, and of course another no show. I had emailed them twice in the days leading up to this appointment - typically no answer. So to be honest I wasn't really expecting them to turn up, or even to tell me that they weren't going to.

I've had enough now, so I've asked for my deposit back -= they've had it for two months so I think they've had enough interest from it. Because it occurred to me that this is what they do... take on way too much work, with no intention of doing it. Take the deposits, put the money in the bank for a couple of months, all the time being totally unresponsive to their customers. Hopefully they will be prompt in repaying what they owe me, I gave them my bank details so we'll see.

Also, from reading other reviews, it seems that the only way to get any communication from them is to post a review here and give your reference number. So here it is:

We have 4k worth of your equipment

Been told 2 dates for installation. Nothing.. no emails, no phone calls.
Office staff DID NOT HAVE A CLUE.

We paid 3k deposit & were billed the full amount after the 1st installation date ( which never happened)

waiting on a cancellation form now for the last 7 days.. nothing.

The plus side is, they have delivered about 4k worth of panels and equipment to us, which is now locked away.

We have sent them an email explaining that as they have not kept to their part of the contract, we expect our deposit back in full within 7 days. (Today is their last opportunity) If not received, we will use the equipment that was delivered to recoup our funds 😎🖕

I've never dealt with a company this poor before.

Avoid company at all cost

Avoid company at all cost. They don't reply to emails, unable to reach them over the phone. They did not turn up 3 times for the installation. The scaffolding has been for almost 3 months now. Solar together who were meant to carry out due diligence on the company before recommending the installer is toothless. Despite contacting them several times, there is nothing they can do to help resolve the situation. The whole scheme is a scam.

Absolutely horrible

Absolutely horrible. We got in touch with this company via the Solar Together scheme, so we had high hopes. However, GET no-showed us FIVE times. We lost a lot of money taking days off work for scaffolders and solar installers who never came. They never on any of these occasions let us know they wouldn't be turning up. The fifth time they no-showed and tried to reschedule, on 25 July 2022, we cancelled. It's been ages, and they have lied about saying they will send us a refund. Before the final no-show date, they had actually talked us into paying a higher deposit (25%) to guarantee the next appointment. We were stupid enough to do it, and of course they didn't call, didn't turn up, nothing. Now they keep saying they're sending us information on how to get a refund. Guess what? It hasn't shown up! It's been weeks. They're really nice on the phone, but from our experience they do absolutely nothing to back that up. Funny thing: AFTER we cancelled, the scaffolders turned up unannounced. When we told them we'd cancelled, they weren't surprised. Nightmare company. Getting solar equipment from China is a bit slow right now, but not nearly enough to justify this.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Three years since my initial enquiry, I still don't have a complete system. It took 2 years to get a survey done and then a further year, with 4 cancelled appointments to get the panels on the roof. When the installation team arrived (who were wonderful) they discovered that half the bits were missing from the installation kit and had to sit around, waiting 2 hours for head office to confirm it was ok for them to go and get the missing bits as the only store was over 30 mins away. Even then the optomisers - a pretty vital part for a shady roof, were missing and it was fitted without them. I'm still waiting for the battery and car charger to be installled and the scaffording is still up - two months after installation. Getting thought to them is a nightmare, the quickest I had is 45 mins waiting for the phone to be answered. One day I was on the phone for 6 hours on and off listening to their dreadful hold music, as apparently someone specific was the only one who could handle my issues (optomisers missing - I found out later - but the email I got didn't specify this was the problem). I left countless requests for her to call me but to not avail. Do not use thier automated call back system - no one ever calls back. I do now have a partial but functioning system on the roof but getting there was incredibly difficult and fustrating. To top it all they wanted payment for the partial system immediatly and then got the invoice hopelessly wrong - sorting that out was further trauma - until I managed to get Sarah's email and she sorted it all out quickly - Thank you Sarah.
When the system, was installed I was promised the battery and charger would be installed mid August. After a further long wait on the phone I have been told that it's the end of October. I'll give them till then and then will cancel the order and get another company to fit the battery and charger.
This company is a mess - not corrupt or fake but it has taken on much more work than it can cope with and is obviously struggling. Everyone I have had contact with has been lovely especially the installation team but they are all working under incredibly difficult curcumstances. SPUK28846

Who is the CEO of GET?

If you want to understand the abysmal service provided by Green Energy Together please follow this
link (information provided by Companies House). As I cannot include a link please go to the Companies House website and search for David Stuart Elbourne.

Companies House sets out the business record of David Stuart Elbourne, the current CEO of GET. Who did the due diligence on this company? Shame on Solar Together and shame on every local authority who clearly did not do their job and who, in promoting the solar together scheme allowed this awful, delinquent and shameless company to trade. Do not contract with this company.

Will they ever turn up?

Just to confirm - I didn't receive a call back, suprisingly.

I’ve been waiting for my installation since July. The first time no one showed up until the end of the week however they’d not put scaffolding up so the roofers wasted a trip from stoke and I’d wasted yet another day off work. This time round again, no one’s showed up and yet another day's holiday was wasted. The solar panels have been sitting in my garden for two months now. SPUK200169
