The only thing I can add to all the terrible reviews is...how does this company still get 2 stars. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Incompetent, disorganised, untruthful, inconsiderate...I could go on. I am luckier than some in that the equipment was delivered but no scaffolding and no installers and no explanation.

Is it possible to give 5 Minus Stars?
Is it possible to give 5 Minus Stars? Here is only one because it isn't. The tale starts in June ' 21 with the survey. I received the result and contract only after enquiring - end of November. The appointment was made for February 18th '22. It was the day of the severe storm, but before I was assured the installation would be done. Nobody called before, on the day or after. It was up to me to get another appointment. I had kept 14 days and lost a holiday. Forward to May 9th'22, the same happened. I called before to be absolutely assured that everything was fine. I was furious about unprofessionalism and how inconsiderate this company treats their customers. The poor guy on the phone got to hear in no uncertain terms what I thought of it. I wrote a letter to the company and complained profoundly. I had already made plans to cancel the contract and proceed with somebody else. Unexpectedly I got a call offering the 2nd of August for the installation. Ok, one last chance. Scaffolding arrived, Solar panels arrived and even two young men came in the morning. There was one problem with a duct but with 2 hours debating before and having a lunch brake of two hours I was left in the end with unfinished work and scaffolding on the roof terrace. I cancelled another get away and meetings and sports lessons for this. I called the office to be promised a call back "within the hour". I am not even amazed that nothing has happened yet. I try since days to talk to somebody but my calls, landline or mobile, are immediately cancelled as soon I press the choice button. I am seriously thinking of taking legal action as this company seems to me not only very unprofessional but also fraudulent. Don't go near it!

Abysmal customer service
Whilst the equipment they supply seems good quality and when you eventually get it all installed it does what it should do. However customer service is so poor. A year on and I needed to get some help. The customer service line is never answered (I rang off after 30 minutes of holding), the call back service does not respond and emails are not answered. Eventually using the sales line I spoke to a person who was helpful and got Stuart Rendall one of the local managers to visit and he was able to sort out my issue. Thanks Stuart. But if I had known how useless GET as a company is I would never gone with them. I assumed that as a bulk scheme through Devon CC they would have performed well.

SCAM Company. Take your money, disappear without installing for MONTHS, then try to use contract to pocket £100s without any service provided! AVOID
Don't let GET's salespeople mislead you. The reviews here are not fake, and they are not exclusive to council-led clients. They took almost £2k to “secure installation date”, then failed to comply and completely disappeared (making me miss out on solar panels this winter, which will be very expensive), and now are holding my money ransom until I accept them pocketing £500 for their “troubles”. They elongated the process enough that they think I’m no longer protected by consumer rights act (thus acting in bad faith). Little do they know my husband is a barrister and we will very happily take them to court and not seek only our refund but compensation (for inflation, our time wasted waiting for them and losses in our energy bill from their breach). This has become a time consuming issue, but it is a matter of principle. You avoid yourself these troubles!
Update (Oct-22): It took a formal letter of complaint going through HIES, their Governing body, for GET to even acknowledge my cancellation (requested two months ago). Despite them just dumping some kit in my house and never coming back to install it (stood up twice without notice, apology or rebooking date). Now my scaffolding is gone and I can't get the panels installed, they want me to accept them pocketing £500 of my hard-earned money to give me any money back. This matter is likely to end in court, honestly please avoid.
Original (aug-22): We found GET through Haringey council but weren't ready to go through when the scheme closed so we received a private quote. When I raised Trustpilot reviews as a concern, their sales guy assured me they were not all real and everyone who had a negative experience came from a council scheme, and that it was the councils' fault that customers were let down as they couldn't install until a number of installations were booked in the same area, so there was no way I would face those kinds of problems as a private customer. He also assured me they didn't sell anything that wasn't already in inventory in their UK warehouse. We paid a 25% deposit in June and agreed installation would happen before the end of July.
They did not install end of July and actually booked us in for the end of August only because we pushed back against mid Sept (our scaffolding will be gone by then). They missed the appointment to install without any notice and my attempts at getting an answer all day by calling and emailing (why they missed the appointment, when would they come back) were unsuccessful, which isn't a total surprise looking at other reviews. However, it's important for everyone to know this was NOT through a council bid. Additionally, they cannot fulfill our contract in its entirety at this moment because they have NO batteries. Melissa H. in the Surveying team said the sales team had no right to say that they don't sell stuff that isn't in stock. We had builders on site to make sure the electrics (which we wanted to be internally placed) had the best run with the least possible disruption in the house, so that's a lost day rate. We also sourced our own scaffolding as we were doing a loft conversion at the same time, so GET has lost us lots of money. We sent the formal cancellation email a week ago and they have completely disappeared.

Avoid at all costs SPUK 95161
Terrible company to deal with. I have no idea how they were selected by Richmond Council. I am following up with them as well on this service.
Over a year since deposit was paid then four reschedules blaming systems and booking systems.
I finally got a call in June pressuring me to put in 25% deposit to 'guarantee' an installation and hold it.
No communication at all after deposit was paid. Week before install and no scaffolding. I called once waited 45 mins and was told that they would be coming in next couple of days. No show for scaffolders so called and emailed again. Finally got through and they promised to call back and assured installation is still planned to go ahead.
5pm day before installation and inevitable email informing me that the install would not take place and to rebook again for September.
Customer service non existent. No idea what Clive Houlsten does but his management of a customer service team has been abysmal. I have waited twice for 1 hours plus and then am just hung up on. Beyond frustrating.
I have asked for a full refund and am done with this company. Once they have your money they are non existent if you need help and communication is terrible.
Have made a request formally and unsurprisingly no response after a week. I expect I will have to take them to small claims court to recover anything.
Wish I had never come across this company.
Appalling service. Under no circumstances use this company
Scaffolding up for over 120 days (so far).
Solar Panels delivered with no prior notification (luckily I was at home at the time).
6 cancelled installation dates (so far).
2 formal complaints (one sent by recorded delivery) not even acknowledged despite their contract terms and conditions stating that any formal complaint will be responded to within 10 days.
Latest installation date cancellation not advised in advance (installation team simply failed to show up), despite their contract terms and conditions stating that any cancellation will be notified not less than 24 hours in advance.
No response to e-mails or call-back requests when trying to find out what is happening.
25% deposit taken "to secure an installation date" (which they then missed).
Under no circumstances use this company.
Really poor service update
Really poor service, as I have had 4 no show dates, only 2 where they told me were cancelled. Scaffolding up since mid May now August. Last Friday delivered solar panels while I was out just left in my front garden. Due to come yesterday so I stayed around all weekend thinking at least I will finally get installation. Then didn't come or contact me Monday. Spent several hours trying to contact company as they do not do callbacks as promised, after hanging on the 3rd time for 44 minutes was told that they are looking into it and didn't know installers weren't coming. Nothing since. SPUK89457
After chasing by my London Assembly Member and both my local councillors, I did get my installation 4 days later. Team were very knowledgeable, told me they were most experienced team called themselves the A Team. Installation went smoothly. But still have scaffolding up 10 days later no date for this to come down and no date for installation of battery, which they have taken a 25% deposit for. Feels like they have good people on the ground but that the communications and admin of programmes not run well.
Total disaster
Total disaster - failed to install on date scheduled, don't answer the phone or respond to messages left, have taken deposit but no panels installed- don't use this company.
We had a horrible experience
We had a horrible experience: scaffolding on our house for over 2 months, pressured to make a 25% deposit outside of the contract and 5 canceled installation dates. You need to involved Solar Together and your local council to put pressure on them. Their contacts are on their website.
You need to ask for help and they are the group that brought Green Energy Together into the local scheme and are ultimately responsible for the deposit and installation, even if they say otherwise.
Failed to deliver as quoted and ordered
Cambs County Council and Hunts District Council awarded their Solar Together contract to Green Energy Together (GET), as have several other councils. The scheme was supposed to guarentee lower pricing because of bulk buying. I had a quote and it wasn't cheap, in fact it was more expensive than some other quotes. A long story short the Solar Together scheme is a complete con, and the councils did next to nothing in the way of due diligence.
I contacted GET directly and got a better deal, using their price match promise (which they only reluctantly accepted), with supposedly superior products to the ones used in the Solar Together scheme.
They were supposed to commence with scaffolding yesterday (didn't arrive), told it would be today instead (didn't arrive), and late afternoon a delivery arrived with some panels, but these weren't the type I ordered. In fact they tried to deliver a mixture of two different types. I called the scaffolding company and they said they haven't even been asked to do anything. A string of emails and phone calls (it's impossible to speak with anyone right away as they never pick up, wait times can be over an hour) to GET, and being told a pack of lies by them in return, so I've cancelled.
Checked them out on here and it seems I'm not alone feeling disappointed and cheated, lots of similar experiences.
No star should be an option.
I have had 6 cancelled installation…
I have had 6 cancelled installation appointments, three of them after paying a 25% deposit to "secure an installation date".
At this point I just want my money back, because I have no confidence that Green Energy Together will ever be able to deliver the goods, and I'm concerned that they will go bust taking my deposit with them.
When they asked me to reschedule for a sixth time, I said No, I want my money back, and the person I was speaking to said they would pass this on to the cancellations department. Since then I have emailed them asking to cancel, and got no response. I'm writing this while I listen to their hold music.
My contract number is SPUK78279.
GET contract SPUK95835 - appalling!
After months of frustration and terrible customer service we cancelled our solar panel installation in 2022 - hugely disappointing as we really want solar panels. We signed the contract with GET in April 2021. The panels were supposed to be installed in December, which seemed like a long wait. Just before the installation date, we were told it had to be delayed, which wasn't too suprising due to covid staff shortages. A new date was set for January. I was in contact with the very helpful scaffolding company, who were about to put up the scaffolding. Just before the scaffolding was about to go up, GET cancelled the installation and told us it was because the scaffolding company had let them down. The scaffolding company were furious: they had the scaffold and the men ready, and then had to redeploy them when GET cancelled. The cancellation clearly wasn't their fault, but GET blamed them. GET then set 19 May for the installation. A few days beforehand I realised that I hadn't heard from them and - eventually - got through. The person I spoke to said that the 19 May date was a 'provisional' date, not a real date and a new date would be provided. It then gets really bizarre... When trying to fix a new date, I was told that GET had decided that our flat roof wasn't suitable for solar panels. I explained that someone had visited in 2021 and said it was perfect. I was told that the rules about installation had changed since then and they couldn't install panels on a flat roof without doing a structural survey first. She explained that, sadly, the contract would have to be cancelled and my deposit refunded. She emailed me a cancellation form, which I completed and returned on 19 June. A few weeks later I got a call from GET asking when I'd like the solar panels installed. I explained that I'd been told that our roof was unsuitable and had cancelled the contract. The caller said their records suggested that our roof was fine for solar panels. She had no record of the cancellation and couldn't understand how I had been sent a cancellation form or who had sent it. In the end, I emailed the form to her while on the call and she was mystified, saying she had no idea who had sent it to me and the contract hadn't been cancelled. She asked if I'd like to go ahead and get the panels installed. I was really tempted - we do want solar panels - but by this point I had completely lost confidence in GET and was worried that they'd be as incompetent with the installation as they had with booking it in. So, with great regret, I cancelled the contract. This time it really was cancelled and my money refunded. What a huge waste of time! If I'd known how terrible GET would be, I would have got someone else to put up solar panels months ago....
GET UK has spent thousands of pounds on…
GET UK has spent thousands of pounds on my partial installation but, after 4 months of having scaffolding on mine and a neighbours land is yet to complete the job. The quality of the equipment and installers is fine the issue is with communications, possibly with supply chains and with administration. They rarely respond to calls and have broken so many visits. SPUK71688. 10th Nov 2022 appointment to install batteries and the correct inverters, no one turned up. I'm dropping down to 1 star. Update Dec 2022 they bring a battery but don't install it. They connect both strings together in series so all 8 panels are generating power but there was a reason for having two strings. Mid Dec 2022 engineer wires in battery but on leaving it dumps all charge to grid he has wired both CT clamps on the wrong live wires. Early Jan 2023 engineer says the wiring is wrong but an hour later says the training grid in the office is wrong. Battery now working occasionally but limited to charging at 700W meaning most power is lost to the grid. And so it continues...
Very poor performance so far
For those who are interested: GET is owned by Solarplicity UK Holdings, which is owned by Sustain UK Holdings Limited which is owned by David Elbourne and Julie Clare who are also the directors. The company address is Unit 8 Peerglow Centre, Marsh Lane, Ware, Herts, England, SG12 9QL. They may appreciate letters from irate customers.
Very poor performance so far. One installation date cancelled (for Covid, so possibly reasonable), second cancelled because of lack of supply of solar panels, third postponed by two months because they had not collected a deposit which they now said was need to guarantee an installation date and now fourth date (yesterday) was a no-show with no explanation.
I would change supplier but for the fact that they have taken a deposit and they are the chosen supplier for our local council scheme.
Impossible to get through by phone. You get to the front of the queue and then they hang up on you. Now waiting for a callback.
Update 24 August:
Two more installation dates passed. No contact for the first one - had to chase them to get it re-scheduled. 2nd date (today) installers turned up (first time ever). But no kit delivered so they have left again.

Shocking service once deposit paid
Booked via Solar Together from Huntingdonshire Council and everything was OK up to and including survey.
You have to pay by phone the deposit - over an hour in queue
Installation booked for 4th August with panels etc to come with installers confirmed by GET by email - no they arrived in front garden during period where no one home
4th August - nobody came. Called at lunchtime to be told delayed but on way.
5th August - I rang and was told Installation manager would call by 1530. Again nothing
6th August - call from installer at 8am saying would be here by 9. No show and when I called they said had my number attached to the job they were doing.
8th August - called at 9am to be told would call back on or before 12 with whatever info was available. No call
On each of these days it has been me phoning and being on hold for hours to chase replies but generally get cut off when get to number 1 in the queue.
I have emailed many times with nil response and used callback 4 times with no call back.
Have now wasted 3 days minimum trying to get an install date.
Every step of the contract post survey has been broken:
No call 5 days before install date to confirm still OK
Written agreement that kit would come with installers - came by van with no note to say had been.
Callback on email promised regarding if need scaffolding not followed through.
Missed installation date with no call to apologise or explain.
All follow up calls promised not forthcoming and generally the excuse for needing to call back is the installation manager is busy or unobtainable.
Still don't know when or if the kit will get installed but I have made it clear on each call / email that not accepting any responsibility for loss or damage.
If I could give no stars that would be too many...

Not a reliable company
In common with lots of others here I paid the deposit when given a quotation and installation date via the Solar Together process. Installation was due on 5th Aug, No scaffolding was provided prior to this date and no one turned up on the day. No notification or explanation has been provided in any form. The firm is not complying with any the procedures set out in the documentation provided apart from payment. Their customer care is non existent and communication nigh on impossible. How they became and continue to be a nominated provider by Local Authorities is difficult to comprehend. Very poor, avoid.
To add insult to injury, I received an invoice today for an installation that I have not had. You could not make this up.
Unresponsive and unreliable
As per many people leaving reviews, my experience with GET has been shambolic at best, and the customer service impossible to get a response from. Having pushed my installation date back from May to August I am now unable to get any response when inquiring about my contract and installation. The only team who seem responsive are the ones staffing the Facebook Messenger accounts, and the only contact the company has made with me is to cancel a planned installation because I had not paid an additional 25% "deposit" which had never been mentioned and was not in the contract. I lack any confidence that the installation next week will actually take place. Please avoid this company if you can, as the stress involved in dealing with them is not worth it. Leaving a review here is my last attempt to get a response from the company before I cancel my contract and demand a refund. SPUK107731
Update: I have now had panels installed, after GET sent the contractors to Brixton but at least gave them my phone number. However, several weeks on the scaffolding is still up. I had to call the scaffolders direct, who told me they can't get a response from GET either, nor have they been paid. The only time I've had any contact from GET at all is when they want money from me. Otherwise it's complete radio silence. My advice it to avoid this company if at all possible.
Yet again the same answer and the…
Yet again the same answer and the person responding not reading as I am sure if they took the time to look at the reviews they would see that I have given them my SPUK number on Trust pilot last time by adding to my review as it is useless to communicate with them by phone or directly from the review. For your info I supply my SPUK number for the umpteenth time. However again I will not hold my breath for a responsible person to answer my emails or this review. SPUK67743
SPUK173213 Take your money and don’t show up!
SPUK173213 Booked and paid for an installation for 3/8/22. They called us at 4pm the night before planned installation asking if we had decided to go with the quote and when did we want to pay deposit and book the installation for. Explained we had already booked and paid. ‘Oh I’m sure it will be fine’ the call agent said. Well I’d like you to check please. She promised to call back and confirm. Called back 30 mins later, again asking if we wanted to book installation and pay deposit. Again we explained this had already been booked and paid for and she was supposed to be checking still going ahead. She then rang back to inform us that it wouldn’t be happening due to supply issues but could book us in some time in September. They clearly had no intention of contacting us to inform us of the cancellation. Like many others, we would find out when they didn’t show up. I was not willing to lose another days wages, and after reading all the terrible reviews and realising what a huge mistake we’d made I declined and asked to speak to customer service manager. I was informed that ‘Leona would call me back. This never happened. Basically we are now on day 3 of constant calling, with wait time of an hour, being hung up on, being lied to and are still waiting for this Leona to contact us with news of when our £1900 deposit will be returned. Avoid at all costs. We went with this company as they were enforced by our local council but clearly ‘GET’ are incompetent lying thieves with no concept of customer service!
