My daughter’s fight was delayed by Gulf Air by 6 days!!!
This amounted to her overstaying her visa which she then had to pay a fine in excess of £700!!
There is confusion as to whether she will get compensation as her flight was from India.
The stress on her finances is massive as she and her husband list 6 days of earning and her children were traumatised due to not being in school when expected.
There has been a terrible lack of empathy from anyone within Gulf Air.
I am disgusted. The 6 day delay apparently was due to overbooking as the Grand Prix was taking place. 6 days of delay!!
Nightmare Journey with Gulf Air: Unprecedented Flight Delays and Communication Chaos
The scheduled flight on February 28th at 21:50 didn't depart as planned. After completing all the checks and reaching the gate by 21:30, we were informed of the cancellation. Despite going back through security and retrieving our bags, there was no clear communication about the flight. We were instructed to stay overnight at a less-than-pleasant hotel. In the morning, we received three conflicting emails about the flight details. Yesterday, the flight details remained undisclosed after its cancellation. Joining the check-in queue at 5 am, we were redirected to the ticket issue information desk due to a lack of flight information. Gulf Air employees were absent at the ticket counter, and our request to speak with the manager went unanswered until 8:30 am. Despite standing in the queue, check-in began at 8:45 am, and after going through security, we reached the departure gates for the 10 am flight. At 10:19 am, a delay until 11:30 am was announced, attributed to catering issues. Promised boarding in 15 minutes, the board later indicated a 12:30 pm delay, with the explanation that another catering trolley was on its way. Since 5 am, I've been at the airport, frustrated and tired. This airline's continuous flight delays are especially inconvenient as I'm travelling for my sick mother. Avoid Gulf Air at all costs – the worst airline choice.
Poor relation to Etihad and Emirates
Customer service is very poor after booking online. Added seats later and they charged me extra £8 per seat on top of seat price. Boeing 787 nice, comfortable plane but on board service is very poor. The odd smile would have been nice. No alcohol offered. Poor relation to Etihad and Emirates

Terrible terrible customer service. I did read the reviews beforehand and thought it would be fine but I was mistaken. I tried to book our seats before we got on the flight because the app is terrible (it doesn't even remember your booking) through Facebook and they ignored me several times and then told me to phone. I was already abroad so I couldn't. We get there and are told we have extra legroom seats, the first flight did, the second was one row behind. We complained and they told us we did have them!? The planes themselves are poor, the food rubbish and the entertainment choices are terrible. Go Qatar and save yourself the pain.
Flight delayed for more than 4h. Didn't receive compensation.
I missed one day of my holidays due to a huge delay (>4h). I am entitled to compensation which I have never received. It's been 4 months. Don't fly GulfAir.

Worst experience ever! I flight in business class and in the arrival I didn't find my luggage. Well, they lost it.
The worst part? THEY DON'T REPLY TO ME. IF YOU CALL THEM THEY WILL CLOSE THE CALL.
I basically lost a baggage with 2000$ of clothes inside and they just don't care.
WORST experience ever. How is possible in 2023 to run a company like that?

1. I love the fact that the baggage allowance was 46kgs which is great for international flights.
2. The lady named elisa or aliza (not sure of spelling) at the check in was so kind and helpful that she asked me if I wanted to check in my hand trolley and I was so happy that I could shop in Duty free with my hands free.
3.I have recently applied for a gulf air membership and I was hoping something nice will happen once I collect some air miles but I was so lucky that I got upgraded to business class the same day. my seat was 1A and this is the best seat one can get.
The crew on flight usually know it's an upgrade but they did not make me feel so even for a second. The Cabin Senior Isa was so funny the entire flight the business class passenger ware laughing at his silly jokes now and then.
I had an amazing flight even the captain greeted after landing so It was my most amazing flight

flight was on time and the food service was great. Only negative was the fact the planes were at full capacity, but the ticket price was fair and the entertainment system onboard is great (Boeing 777)
Awful! DO NOT BOOK with Gulf Air
I had an absolutely terrible experience with this airline. Their customer service was abysmal; I felt completely ignored and unsupported as a solo female traveler. When my flight was canceled, there was no compensation or refund provided, and the stress caused by constant delays only made things worse. I would strongly advise against choosing this airline and will never book with them again !
They stole from my bag.
Their staff stole from my bag in transit and the airline refused to reimburse me because "items in checked luggage are not our responsibility".
Also the seats are small and crammed in, there was no inflight entertainment at all, the food was meh, and it wasn't even that cheap.
There is literally no reason to fly with Gulf Air over any other airline.
Gulf Air did not let me on my flight despite valid booking confirmation
On the 12th of October, I was at Singapore Changi Airport ready to check-in for my Gulf Air flight back home to London Heathrow via Bahrain.
After an hour waiting in the queue (which is appalling), I reached the desk only to be told by Gulf Air staff that Booking.com had cancelled my flight and therefore, my booking was not valid. I was told to ring Booking.com which I immediately did but their customer service team told me their computers were not working and to ring back 3 hours later. I honestly could not believe what I was hearing. My flight was to leave soon and it would have departed by that time. The staff at Gulf Air, including the manager, said there was no way they could help me since I booked through Booking.com. You would think since the flight was with Gulf Air that they would show some empathy and try to help a passenger. My name was still showing up on their system so clearly I was supposed to be on that flight and this is some kind of admin error of their part. Well, an admin error has cost me money and my mental health.
Gulf Air managed to leave me stranded in a foreign country. As the airline itself, you should have staff at hand to deal with situations like this but your staff told me there was absolutely nothing they could do. Your staff could not even book me onto a different flight and I had to do it myself while being in a state of shock.
Not only am I out of pocket from the Gulf Air flight but now I am also out of pocket for the new flight I had to hurriedly book. This cancellation had a knock on effect on all my other bookings like car park fees.
Prior to the flight, Booking.com customer service have confirmed with me on a couple of occasions that my flight booking was definitely confirmed. I have this in black and white. Please could you explain how Gulf Air put me in this position.
At this point, I require a manager to get back to me as soon as possible. I will be escalating this to the relevant avenues otherwise.

Terrible airline really bad quality food and above all horrible customer service, when I wanted to change my ticket they quoted me a charge that would be higher than if I just booked a whole new ticket with the same flight, same airline, same seat. Then when I tried to request a refund they claimed that I would not be able to get a refund as apparently the cancellation charge would exceed the return ticket. Sneaky and pathetic ways of trying to make money which will result in a loss of a potential lifetime customer since I actually am from Bahrain (Gulf Air HQ). I will do my best to avoid ever using them again and the same for all my family and relatives.
Great airline until you have the smallest problem

Our flight from Bahrain to Manila was delayed 2 times : 2 hours delay that they announced a day before the flight and 2.5 hours more at the airport. Total of 4.5 hours delay. That caused passengers to miss their domestic flight from Manila and I had to buy a new flight (this happend to at least 6 people that I talked to). The ground stuff of Gulf Air in Manama Airport told me to write a complaint to Gulf Air customer service about it and ask for a refund. Until now, 3 weeks later, no reply from them.
This is only the start. On the flight back - they canceled the flight from Manama to Tel aviv due to political instability reasons. They didn't give an alternative destination option, they didn't give an alternative date, they didn't give anything- just an option to refund, without even mentioning the amount.
Although they sent a mail for canceling only Manama- Tel aviv section only, and keeping Manila-Bahrain flight as is, when I came to check in, they took long time to deal with my reservation, told me that my reservation was canceled, and asked me to call thier ticketing office to rebook my flight ! Yes, they are working in Gulf Air and they are asking me to make a new reservation. Amazing.
they said that my reservation was canceled (they didn't send any email about it) and they asked for additional fee (!) To rebook it ! Amazing. So not only they did few mistakes, not only they gave 3 flights instead of 4, they also asked additional money for it.
Gulf air makes you pay for thier mistakes.
Whoever wants a company to relay on - keep away immediately from Gulf Air.
They do not pay settlements for damage to checked baggage.
On June 8, 2023, I was on their flight and the top handle of my checked baggage was damaged and lost, leaving a hole in my bag.
I reported it to them and accepted their offer of reimbursement, but no matter how many times I urged them they did not pay.

Absolute clowns. Paid over £100 for 2 extra legroom seats on a Bahrain to London flight 29/4/23, they changed the aircraft, we were in a pokey row of seats with the seats in front of us practically touching our face when the guy in front reclined them
Flight manager from First class admitted they were not extra legroom seats, said he couldnt move us as the flight was full, gave me a letter saying so AND A CUSTOMER FEEDBACK form, told me he would send the report in, customer services totally useless, keep replying saying they’re looking into it and then tell me 3 months later they’ve closed the case and can’t help me

Terrible airline with the worst customer service and cabin crew, we've been sitting on the terminal for 6hrs now, we boarded the plane and the pilot turns around, announces technical issue and leaves us sitting on the plane for 6 hours now, still with no certainty of the departure time or any remorse for this terrible mismanagement

I booked for an emergency to see my father .The flight supposed to depart at 9.15 am from Manchester.They made the schedule change on previous night and the new time was 13.10 .Because of the schedule change i missed my connection flight and domestic flight.Then i got a call from Bahrain i was eligible for full refund.so i decided not to fly and i informed my travel agent booking .Com
Now the airline refused me full refund because they marked me no show.poor customer service .Never again
