I found my experience pretty good as a whole. Paul greenhalagh my instructor was on the ball and was a big help to me.
The only downside would be the vehicles at times could be abit unreliable at times.

My instructor was Andrew Silvester and it was an amazing experience. He’s an amazing instructor, never rushes you to learn something and takes his time with you. There’s never any pressure on you as a driver. The environment he creates for us as trainees is perfect, it’s the environment everyone needs. Best instructor

Started my bus driver training with my instructor Jordon, 2 weeks ago and I passed my test today! I highly recommend Jordon and can’t thank him enough for his kind, cheery, helpful and patient nature and for being an excellent teacher! My training days were always packed full of fun, giggles, learning and lots of driving and it’s been great having you as my instructor! Thank you so much!

Name: Demi
I had the most rewarding experience. I had the most understanding and caring instructor. My instructor Andy Sylvester understood my learning type and implemented this technique into my teaching. I felt safe, heard, and advocated for, this allowed me to pass my exams. My instructor was the most professional person I have ever come across. I wasn’t a driver before now I have a PCV holder. Andy respected my culture and religion. An upstanding individual.

I just passed my driving test with the nicest instructor in the world called Jordan
he teaches and explains everything very well in such a simple way
and he only stops when you understand
In my opinion it's bad luck not to succeed with him
Thanks Jordan

Thanks so much Jordon! Helpful, friendly chap, lovely teaching style, always positive and cheery, made me feel I could do it even when I felt nervous. We really had an amazing rapport, we have the same sense of humour, both of us giggling at times. PCV bus driver training at Didcot. Professional and courteous, from absolute novice to pass in two weeks, today! Feb 08 2024 (bonus needed!)

I find it very hard to give a fair review of my recent experience because on one hand, the Instructors really are 5/5.
However the company is 2/5 at best.
Paul and Don were fantastic with my recent PSV training, great confidence builders with a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Paul really took a personal interest in our training and profession and genuinely cares.
I would recommend them both highly and wish there was a way for reviewing them separately from HGVC.
Sadly they (and I of course) had been massively let down by poor vehicles and no organisation in terms of fleet maintenance.
Buses being refused for test by examiners still being used without fixing issues, tests getting cancelled for the same reason, still issues on the 2 vehicles in use with the examiner ready to cancel further if the issues are not resolved, vehicles breaking down, vehicles being wrapped and assessments on Instructors being done on time that should be left alone for learning. Buses with no speedos and buses incapable of maintaining road speed.
Such a massive let down that great instructors are let down in such a dramatic way.

Paul was a superb instructor, he made my learning journey excellent from start to finish. Based on my time with him I would highly recommend HGVC.

Hey everyone! My name is Mirza and I just had to take a moment to share my absolutely amazing experience with my incredible PCV driving instructor, Andy. Let me tell you, this guy is an absolute legend! I was training to become a PCV license holder, and I couldn't have asked for a better instructor than Andy.
First off, his teaching style is like no other. He's so calm and collected, which really helped me stay focused and confident behind the wheel. Andy pays attention to every little detail, and I mean every single one! He wouldn't miss a thing. But here's the best part - he doesn't just point out the things you need to improve on, he also takes the time to acknowledge and compliment you for the things you've done right. It's such a boost to your confidence when you know you're doing something well.
Now, here's where it gets even more impressive. Andy managed to handle not one, not two, but three trainees on the bus at the same time! Can you believe it? I was blown away by his ability to negotiate everyone's driving and make sure we all got the attention we needed. He somehow knew each of our weak points and our good points too. It's like he had eyes in the back of his head!
I love how he creates a calm and positive learning environment. It's really important to have someone who pays attention to the details and provides constructive feedback while also acknowledging your strengths. And managing to handle three trainees at once? That's impressive! Andy really knows how to personalize the training and address everyone's individual needs. It's clear that he's dedicated to helping each person become the best driver they can be.
I can't express enough how grateful I am for Andy's commitment and expertise. He truly goes above and beyond to ensure that you become the best driver you can be. If you're on the lookout for a top-notch instructor who will guide you every step of the way, look no further than Andy. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
So there you have it, folks. Andy is the real deal. If you're ready to embark on your journey to becoming a PCV license holder, do yourself a favor and choose Andy as your instructor. You won't regret it!

Just got my driving test passed few days ago in West Ham bus garage and I thank my driver instructor *David James* who is a great instructor and makes everything very clear and understandable to learn in an easy and fun way. He spotted the time that I was ready for my test and he asked one of his colleagues *Andy* another great instructor who did a mock test twice and he said I was more than ready.
Great team both of them!
Thank you guys for your help. I really appreciate your time, your help and your support.

Completed PCV training with stagecoach Manchester throughout December and early January with the instructor Paul greenhalgh he was really good and taught us well and I managed to pass first time with just 5 faults and the instructor was amazing 5* but let down by the company HGVC which needs to improve the vehicles alot
We did our training on an enviro 200 bus which was extremely slow so slow that up hills you were sometimes struggling to maintain 10mph HGVC were told this multiple times and knew about this but didnt do anything about it and when it came to test day I did my test but the 2 lads I was in a group with were refused their tests and had to rebook for another day in a different vehicle
The 2nd vehicle at Hyde road was an optare and it was full of defects it had a faulty speedometer that didn't work so they had to wire up a phone as a digital speedometer and the doors didn't work they would often get stuck and not close from cab meaning driver would have to stand up get out of cab and press button above door to close them this was a major defect and the examiner advised he wouldn't do tests in that bus if the doors got stuck when tested before leaving for the test
This means both buses at Hyde road are not upto standard required for doing tests in which is a disgrace and if HGVC continue to do nothing about it the next set of trainees currently in training using the 2 defective buses will not be able to take their tests
It is a shame because with decent buses paired with the great instructors it would be 5*

Fantastic instructor, so kind and understanding. From the first time I was on his bus he made me feel so welcome. From having no bus experience and starting with Craig I was happy to complete my full training with Craig. Even when I failed (sigh:( ) he didn't make me feel bad about it, he encouraged me to brush it off and go again. And I did it second time.
I trained with a couple other instructors when Craig was off but they just wernt Craig 😂

Best instructor by far helped me to get my confidence up from day one and pushed me to become better driver. Would recommend to anyone looking for an instructor.
Thank you Craig!!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Andy, a lead instructor at HGVC, as I pursued my PCV driving license. From the outset, Andy's commitment to excellence and his unwavering dedication to his students' success were evident.
Andy's teaching style is both comprehensive and tailored to individual needs. He possesses a wealth of knowledge about PCV driving, and his ability to convey complex information in an easily understandable manner is commendable. Throughout the training process, Andy maintained a perfect balance between verbal and practical lessons, ensuring a holistic understanding of the tasks.
One of the standout qualities of Andy is his patience. Learning to drive a PCV can be a challenging task, especially for someone like me who was relatively new to the intricacies of large vehicle operation. Andy's calm and patient demeanour created an environment conducive to learning, allowing me to build confidence gradually.
Moreover, Andy's attention to detail is noteworthy. He meticulously covered every aspect of the PCV driving test, leaving no stone unturned. Under his guidance, I not only learned the required skills but also developed a keen understanding of safety protocols and regulations, which I believe will serve me well in my future driving endeavour’s.
Andy's commitment to his students' success was evident in every session. He went above and beyond to accommodate my learning pace and address any concerns or questions I had. His passion for teaching and genuine interest in the success of his students set him apart as an outstanding instructor.
I am pleased to share that, with Andy's expert guidance, I successfully passed my PCV driving test. The confidence and skills instilled in me during our training sessions were invaluable, and I credit much of my success to Andy's exceptional teaching abilities.
In conclusion, if you are looking for an instructor who combines expertise, patience, and a genuine commitment to your success, Andy at HGVC is the perfect choice. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone pursuing a PCV driving license. Thank you, Andy, for your outstanding support and guidance.
